Nightfall walked in and locked the doors behind him. He then made his way, a bit slowly to the bed in the back. No new papers, a a couple of messages. But when he listened, there was nothing. He kept moving to the bed, to find Sapphire in the sheets, looking at him. He smiled a bit, and walked up to the bed.

"And I thought you were smart," Jack said, "Do you not know what makes a bloodmage different from other unicorns? In order to obtain my power I had to absorb a demon. This, as you can imagine, is quite painful. You, on the other hand, have a creature that inhabits your body without your knowing. A parasite demon, the lowest class of demon. He showed himself during your memory gap. Its strength seems to be that of a lower D class apparition, nothing for either of us to worry about."

This truly infuriated Photon. Demon? He, the dragon of plasma, a demon? It was sheer farce. In ancient times lost to history, he, Photon, ruled much of the world. Any who dared cross him was devoured easily. None could match his might. But a foolish warrior griffon wielding a magic sword chose to oppose him. It was a truly epic fight. Before the final blow was struck, the griffon revealed a powerful gem. It absorbed Photon into it, destroying his physical form. The griffon then used the power of the gem to free the downtrodden and enslaved. When the griffon was close to his end, he had the gem placed within a temple so that it would remain safe until a new threat arose. Unfortunately, none remembered the gem when the time came for it's use. So, the empire that gleamed in the sun sank into the mists of time. Photon waited eons for someone to find him. During his imprisonment, he planned how he would escape and reclaim the world.

 

Lapis blinked a few times and tried to contain his embarrassment. Of course he'd read of the dark forbidden magics of Equestria and beyond. But he had had a momentary lapse of mind. "A parasite you say?"

"Hey," she says from the bed, flushing a little as Nightfall walked in. She patted the bed beside her.

 

Neil shrugged when he got the message. The kid, Patches, was bleeding all over their ed anyways. His basic first aid skills where barely keeping the kid a live.

Nightfall slowly climbed into the bed next to Sapphire. He blinked, smiling, and looked at her. Of all the time in his life, the past three days had been the fastest, and the best. He didn't really ever want them, or Sapphire, to leave. He had found love for once, and it seemed like love to stay.

Nightfall closed his eyes as she leaned in to him. It was a great comfort to have her right there. And as he breathed in, the smell of her coat triggered his sense. She did smell good. And she was warm...

He lay down fully, his eyes closed, ready for a full niht's rest for the first time in three days.

Sapphire eventually slept, ready for a good nights rest. At sometime around 1 AM she was awaken by Nightfall's shaking. He seemed to be trapped in one of those Nightmare where you can't wake up. She faced him, kissed him, and then, holding him tight, whispered, "I am here Nighty."

Nightfall awoke with a start, and almost screamed. Cold sweat was poring down his face. He closed his eyes, tears falling from his eyes.

"I'm sorry.. I'm sorry.."

Tears kept coming,and he was still shaking. His dream, which had been about his parents, stayed with him for quite a bit.

She smiled tiredly and wiped away his tears. Then she kissed him, full on. When she was done with that, she hugged him, saying, "It's okay," she said over and over again until he calmed down. Drawing back a little, she looks him over silently. "Do you wanna talk about it?" She asked quietly.

Butajiri's fangirls became more infatuated with him than usual. They were becoming a little grabby. One of them on his right side reached out and touched his hair. "Easy, now. You'll mess it up." he said, pulling away. Another one grabbed his leg from under the table and hugged it to her cheek. "What the hell is going on with you girls? This isn't the time." The group crowded around him closer.

Jack grew tired of answering the same question and decided to spell it out as well as possible. "A parasite demon. They inhabit ponies that are powerful enough to draw their attention, but not spiritually aware enough to avoid them. Like I said, its strength is that of a lower D class. It's surprising to see a parasite demon stronger than an E class, but still not threatening. As for what it is doing to you, I cannot say. It seems to be making you stronger. That is very odd." He prepared to lunge again. His Shinbattou Shinning Sword technique was not meant to kill ponies, in fact it is harmless to ponies, but it does have a profound effect on evil. Its purpose is to kill demons.

Lapis grinned wildly. He dodged the lunge with the skill of a drunken fool. Somehow he avoided getting hit. "I'm merely teasing you Jack. I like how you are a bit miffed at my questions. Always more fun when my foe is a bit confused as well." he trilled like a madpony.

 

Photon was suppressing Lapis Lazuli's intellect once again. He could tell Jackson Snow had something planned. The way he changed up his tactics hinted at secret intents. His knowledge of demons made Photon worry.

 

The emerald began to glow, but Lapis didn't seem to notice. He started to move in a fighting pattern akin to dancing. Whatever was wrong with him, it clearly had something to do with this 'demon'.

She smiled tiredly and wiped away his tears. Then she kissed him, full on. When she was done with that, she hugged him, saying, "It's okay," she said over and over again until he calmed down. Drawing back a little, she looks him over silently. "Do you wanna talk about it?" She asked quietly.

 

"I... I guess I can... Just be patient if I start crying again... Um... Well, the dream was about me, and my parents... They... They... Villains... They came from nowhere, and I couldn't get to them in time... The villains... They took my parents... I couldn't stop them... My parents were... No, I can't.."

Nightfall started breaking down again.

She lifted his chin, wiping his tears away again and smiling kindly, "It's okay, there's only me here. And I will be here forever and ever," she said. She kissed him again and, leanning in next to him. She hummed the love song TMM had played for them earlier. "It'll be okay."

Windward smirked watching the mares crowd around Butajiri. Hahaha, their like little spider moneys. I assume your talking about the fan mares. Well duh. They thought, As Wind left a couple bits on the table. Have a nice day. He said, Grinning at Butajiri as he walked out the door.

Jack followed Lapis until a gap opened in his defense. It was small, but large enough. He jumped at him again. This time, a white glow emitted from his Sword of Scars. "SHINBATTOU SHINNING SWORD!" He attacked with the same flurry of strikes as before, but his magical energy behind each swing was mixed with a new, demonic kind. There was no breaks between strikes. All he needed was to land one solid hit as close to the gem as possible.

Lapis tripped over his own hooves and hobbled sideways, allowing Jack's blade to make contact with the cursed emerald. There was a brief spark and Lapis fell over. Sparks of lightning twitched across his body.

 

Dreams are powerful things. They tell us of who we are. When you see something during your nightly flight of fancy, it has a thousand meanings. Which ones apply to you depend greatly on who you are as a sentient being.

 

In his addled mind, images of his past and the last few days swirled restlessly. The innocent ponies he'd murdered, the look of sheer terror on Asteria's face, all the good he had done for the world that was wasted in one fell swoop. It seemed clear enough to Lapis, but somehow it held a new meaning. Cryptic images passed through his mind now. A dragon bursting through a blue egg streaked with lightning, a flower blooming and wilting, restless centuries going by. Things soon took on a strange aura. Light faded, shadows grew. Lapis felt trapped within a world he no longer understood.

"Come out, now." Jack said to Photon, "You have become a pest. Even a lower D class demon shouldn't die that easily. Let me end your useless existence, I had more important things I wanted to do here." He waited for a response. Perhaps he had already killed it, that would be unfortunate.

Butajiri stumbled out of the Cafe with a few bruises and scratches. He fell down near where Windward stood and sighed.

She lifted his chin, wiping his tears away again and smiling kindly, "It's okay, there's only me here. And I will be here forever and ever," she said. She kissed him again and, leanning in next to him. She hummed the love song TMM had played for them earlier. "It'll be okay."

 

Nightfall sighed, still sad, but felling better since Sapphire was there.

"Thanks, Sapphire..."

He sat there in the dark, hugging her. He then decided to lie back down. He closed his eyes, and tried falling back asleep, knowing Sapphire would wake him if he had anymore nightmares.

She layed down next to him, making sure that her presenced would be known even in sleep. Her protective side had come out and she tryed to radiate confidence for him. "Nighty night Nighty." She grinned, happily. Then her breathing slowed, and her tired body began to rest.

Nightfall fell back into dream land, where his dreams started off as normal dreams. However, after only a short time, the dreams slowly ended up getting worse and worse. He was going to have to break out, but he couldn't. His parents being beaten to death, and then Sapphire...

He awoke again, at 3 AM.

Photon stirred briefly. Though he did not move, a voice emanated from Lapis Lazuli's body. "So you still think I am a demon? Simply because I need a host to survive? More foolish than I thought. I am Photon, ancient ruler of this world! Though I am in a weakened state, I shall make you pay for humiliating me! Lapis Lazuli, you pathetic scum, awaken and continue this battle!" he bellowed. Lapis Lazuli didn't budge an inch. Then, his began to twitch as if waking up. He twisted around and curled up into a ball. Light snoring could be heard. Small bursts of plasma shot out of the gem, yet Lapis Lazuli did not move. He was fast asleep.

Sapphire was standing over him prodding, "Do you wanna try again, or are we done trying tonight?" she asks. 3 AM was when she normally got up anyway; it drove Den insane. He wanted to continue sleeping and she wouldn't let him. On weekends however, she'll sleep as long as she needs to recuperate. This also drives Den insane.

Sapphire was standing over him prodding, "Do you wanna try again, or are we done trying tonight?" she asks. 3 AM was when she normally got up anyway; it drove Den insane. He wanted to continue sleeping and she wouldn't let him. On weekends however, she'll sleep as long as she needs to recuperate. This also drives Den insane.

 

Nightfall looked really tired, as if he hadn't slept at all in days.

"No... No, I can't try again... They'll just return..."

Nightfall knew he was going to fall asleep again at sometime. But he was just so tired...

"Um... Hang on... All right, you, um... I guess I'll try again..."

Nightfall put his head back down and closed his eyes for the third time.
