Sapphire's eyes widened and she slowly chewed the brownie. The point over her horn became smaller, then exploded into a laser directed towards the prone form of Lust. It did not seem to end, shooting from the point above her horn in a steady stream of energy.

Sapphire's laser was lost in a thick screen of purple smoke that suddenly emitted from Karasu's body, almost like a reflex. There was a loud boom, but no visible explosion. "You have done well so far," Karasu's voice said in a loud, confidnt tone. "But alas, t'is time for your journey to end. This is your last battle and it will end very quickly!" The smoke dipersed to reveal that Karasu was largly intact. He had lost the gash on his chest and for some reason also discarded his jacket. "I can tell you're all scarred, but I'm not done yet!" He flexed his entire body. Purple waves of nergy surrounded his body and seeped into his muscles, causing them to double in size. "Would you just look at these magnificent washboard abbs!" He exclaimed as he watched his own muscles flex. "Watch me now, as I rivetly flx my amasing core!"

 

"And I just got done convincing myself that he couldn't get any creepier." Jack commented.

Den's expression and he spat, "Sapphire," he said. She nodded, and there was a lightning bolt and she became a longsword, wickedly curved, and blue. Den took it from the hilt and pulled it out of the ground, and their souls merged. The result was like a hurricane meeting a blizzard. Den's eyes glowed, and he turned to the new pony. "Pride. The absolute bane of my existence," he said coldly. He swung the sword and ice spiraled of the blade towards him.

"Pride. Big, selfish jerk."

Nightfall whipped out Demon Blitz again.

"Lust wasn't quite a match for the lightning this thing makes. Let's see about you, you hideous monster."

Nightfall charged at Pride while charging his sword. As he got closer, more and more lightning streaks broke from the sword.

They were both charging at pride before he realized they were still fighting. "Huh... Ahh!" He rolled back and hoped they would crash into each other. "What the hll is wrong with you two? I WASN'T FINISHED!"

 

"Fruitcake!" Jack scoffed. "What the hell happened to you, Karasu?"

"Guys," Wits said. "I have some inner demons. Let me take care of this pompous flankhole." He popped out his gun and charged a bullet, filling it up with as much energy as the bullet could hold. Then, he swung, aimed it at Pride, and fired. "This is beneath you," he said. "Don't even bother dodging."

Den and Nightfall's swords crossed as Den prevented himself from being impaled. The charged blades created an explosion that knocked them out of the way of the bullet that Wits shot. Den gritted his teeth, and with a flourish re-engaged. His sword sparked.

"Yes, I am already registered. I'm not a super 'pony', I just have abilities abnormal from your civilisation. I need to find Wits, the detective. Would you mind telling me or at least lead me in the direction he might be?"

He looked around at some of the things, badges, papers, ect. Standard things you might find in a police station.

"We are not under clearance to divulge that information," one of the ponies said. "Can I see your vigilante's license? Just for confirmation." He began to tab through the database.

 

"This is a formality. After a series of... nasty attacks, we are under instructions to take all security protocols. 'Course, that wouldn't have stopped Sunburn."

Pride saw the bullet coming toward him. For a normal pony he wouldn't have any time to dodge, but he was able to literally kick the bullet away with his front leg, causing it to lose all of its velocity. When he hit the bullet, he mixed his own energy with the energy Wits had given it. This proved to be too much pressure for the metal casing and caused it to crumple up and split open. "It's too bad that you have to fail your loved ones." He announced. "You must be feeling so much guilt right now! Especially you, Jack. Not only are you going to watch everything you love die, but it's also your fault I'm doing it!"

 

"That's enough!" Jack shouted. He was displaying emotions for the first time in a long time. "I'm tired of your half assed stand-ins! Stop hiding behind these personalities and let us fight the real Karasu!"

 

"I'm sorry, but he says he isn't coming out. He says he hates you too much!"

Wits walked up to Pride and stood at him, face to face. He stared him in the eyes.

 

"This is one of Karasu's personalities. One based upon his pride and need for acceptance, but I know better. I have struggled with pride all my life and there is only one method of fighting it.

 

All of our lives is based off of evidence. There is no point to assuming it without consistent evidence. That is the key to pride. Pride isn't thinking that you are good, its thinking that you are good enough to disregard everything else. This is untrue. This is a lie, perpetuated by our minds to try nad pretend we can live in a nice, happy universe where everything revolve around us. But there is evidence to the contrary. I can see other ponies. I can realize their importance. If I do not work towards them, nothing I can do can be worth it in the end. I am nothing without every pony else, and neither are you.

 

You can cause all the chaos you want, Pride. Without other ponies, you are useless. Destroy the universe. If its empty, why does it matter? The only thing you can do is try to make us feel good or bad, and that's all you do. You and try and convince us that you're important, and just prove that you are not.

 

Go away. You aren't important. I could kill you, but it wouldn't be worth the effort."

Kaldr sighed and ripped the folded up paper embedded out of the back of his hand and handed it over to the police pony. He scoffed as it didn't seem necessary to provide a licence just to find out where somepony was.

"There, proof in black and white. Now tell me, where is the detective?"

"I believe the detective is on a mission by the mines, but I don't know what's hapenning down there. He said he was taking only 8 ponies and that it would ruin everything if another pony showed up at some time. I would ask that if you want to see the Detective Specialist, then you stay here and wait for him to get back, so that you don't interefere with whatever he is currently doing."

With a quick draw on the rune tar, Wits leapt out of the way. "Pathetic," he said, then charged a shot and aimed for the neck. "But then again, you are the embodiment of pride, the greatest and weakest of all sins. I suppose that pathetic is what you are."

With no time to think or react, Pride was struck in the neck with Wits' attack and forced to the ground. There was a popping sound as he literally hit the ground neck first. 'I didn't think any pony could move that fast besides Lust' was the only thing he had time to think before hitting the ground.

"I'm not waiting for him, I'll go to the mines and see what could go wrong"

He floated over to the door and chuckled and he gripped the side, "And if you haven't noticed yet, I'm not a pony" he said and slammed the door. He continued towards the mines, hopefully the detective wasn't in too much trouble.

(Keeping my promise. These next two fights wont be THAT short, but they will go by fast. By the way, Kaldr, We're in another dimension right now... I understand it as much as you do.)

 

Karasu stood back up despite having a clearly broken neck. He used his right shoulder to pop his neck back into place, which was obviously painful, but he seemed not to mind.

 

"I'm surprised you've gotten this far." He said. "You should have been dead by now."

Nightfall leapt up, sword starting to spiral around him, getting faster and faster. This created an effect of a lightning tornado, just about.

When the lightning charged sword was about to hit Karasu, it made contact with a transparant, green scale that reflexivly blocked the lightning; but it did more than that. All of the lightning on the sword was sucked into the scale. "Energy Absorption Scales." He said. "I'm surprised you have this much power left after your fight with Envy. Not that it's doing you any good now. Perhaps you should give up now."

"There's a better methodology here," he said to Nightfall. "Stay back, let's observe, and see what he does. it would appear that his focus on absorption is going to make him greed or gluttony or heck, even both. Just stay calm and come back. We'll figure this out logically.

That was about when Den's plain old fist came up. Sapphire was point down in the ground, and there was fire in his eyes, "Say one more thin about my friends, trash. I dare you," he said, in a low, cold, and deadly voice. His form shivered from shaman to cop and, and Sapphire, the sword, was shivering.

"Den," Wits said. "Return Sapphire to pony form. She's obviously hurting and we need to help her feel better. You yourself need to cool down as well. We are not going to lose this, but we need to keep a level head, and its hard to concentrate when we are raging. Just calm down and lets calm Sapphire down."

"Listen to your friend." Karasu said as he narrowly avoided Den's punch, losing a few hairs in the front of his mane in the process. "You said you wanted to know wich one I am? You were right, detective. I'm Glutony and Greed at the same damn time. They were just to similiar to be split apart."

 

"Wait," Jack said, "If he's both gluttony and greed, and there are seven personalities, that means..."

 

"Binnngo." Greed interrupted, then pointed to his head. "There's room for one more. He's the Karasu you remember and he don't want to talk to you any time soon. Too bad, you are going to die SOON! I'll be damned if I let sloth get even one kill! They're all mine!"

Den acted like he hadn't heard, but Sapphire spiraled down into a unicorn. The halo moved back over her head. "Wits, you don't understand; in Den's mind, a threat to his family or friends is a threat to himself. He... Eliminates threats to himself. His words, not mine."

 

"So Greed and Gluttony at the same time. How hungry would you say you are?" Den smiled viciously and pulled out a baggie of Sapphires's brownies, "Sorry, you can't have them," he said, eating one."
