She abruptly stopped and ran back to him, looking more than a little concerned. She looked him over, "Are you okay? I don't want you to get sick..." She reached into a small bag and took out a baggie of brownies. "I don't care what Den says, brownies are the best remedies to anything!" She proclaims.

 

"I don't need food right now, Sapphire... I need a bit of support. Would you mind, maybe..."

He paused, looked at her, and blushed a bit.

"Would you mind providing such support? And please... either way, move more slowly... I can't exactly run, or even trot too much, right not."

He grins and puts the brownies away. Then she lifts up one of his wings and uses it to help carry him. He was bigger than she was, and she couldn't stop her giggles from escaping. "Don't be so stiff, Captain. You might just find what your looking for," she giggles harder.

Nightfall kept limping along with the help of Sapphire. It was true; he was bigger than she was, so it did seem a bit awkward for him need her for help.

"And what do you mean that I would get what I'm looking for? What do you think I may be looking for? I'm just trying to survive..."

The horrible creature saw Nightfall and Den as they stopped in the street to talk. He didn't know what Nightfall looked like, but the pony he saw was an alicorn, the first one he'd seen all day. He swept his hood over his scarred face and walked over to the two ponies. He was trying to imitate the way a normal stallion walked, but it was difficult because the new right leg the Doctor took from Imajin was considerably larger than his other legs. When he was close enough he spoke in his hoarse voice, "Alicorn... Nightfall?"

Lapis eyed the alicorn the monster identified as Nightfall. He kept out of sight so they wouldn't see him. Nightfall looked vaguely familiar. It hit him, Nightfall was the alicorn he'd seen talking to Jack and from the hospital battle. It made some sense. Clearly the creature's purpose was to kidnap Nightfall. Lapis watched to see what would happen. No use in interfering, it would only stop him from finding the scientist. And that would mean he'd wasted his time following this thing.

"Nope, wrong pony, sorry," she grins widely secretly nudging. The Den side of her said Do not trust this one... He gives me bad vibes. "And you are hopeless, sweety," she says sweetly, looking into his eyes. She tride to pass a do not trust, follow my lead kinda look and winked, "What say you we figure out if the hospital's up and running? That broken leg isn't going to heal itself!"

The creature did the closest thing he could to thinking. He slowly turned, looked back, and started to walk away to continue his search.

 

Before he could get far, the voice of the doctor yelled from within a crowd, "Goddamn it, you idiot! That was Nightfall! How are you so stupid?"

She cringed, "That's the doctor, Mr. Nightfall. Time to run sir," she says, awkwardly getting under him and cumming up. He was just small enough for her to life him off the ground. She silently thanked Den for giving them a good body and started running, "I'm sorry if it hurts..."

Despite Its uneven legs, the creature was remarkably fast. He chased Nightfall, and only Nightfall. He seemed to be oblivious to Sapphire and everything else other than his goal. As he ran, his hood slid back revealing his disgusting octopus eyes that almost covered his face.

Lapis watched as the two ponies fled. When the monster went after them, Lapis gave chase. He was capable of keeping up with them, so it wasn't too much of a pain. He needed this kind of entertainment to quell his boredom. He wasn't going to let them get out of sight.

"Woot, hey there pretty. Hey Doc, why haven't your ordered it to kill me yet?" came Den's voice as he shivered. Looking behind him he could tell this wasn't a fair fight. It was to focused on the captain, and it was practically an alicorn. With the extra weight of Nightfall, he couldn't fly, or manuver. So he shifted all of Nightfalls weight slightly forward to give him more speed.

Scout looked down at the scene, A monster chasing an alicorn that is running with a police pony and another pony chasing... the monster... this makes no sense. He ran over to the edge and peered down, they were just below him, "Well, looks like i have something to do..." he jumped off, locking his wings against him, diving straight for the alicorn, when he was almost at ground level he opened his wings and flew past the alicorns legs, blades extended making a sure hit. He flew back up to the roof of another building, looking back down at the chase.

Den grunted as a blade hit his legs and went through. He stumbled a little and curssed himself for not being able to use magic. He stumbled and tossed his boss off his shoulders over a fence. "Run sir!" he coughs, "I can't take you anywhere else," he shifts and Saphire eyed the beast. She tackled him when he tryed to jump over the fence to chase him, though admitably weak due to her cut legs, it was enough to keep him from crossing.

The creature violently swung at Sapphire with his left front leg to get her off. When he had created some distance, he lifted his stolen right leg into the air. The muscle and bone in his hoof shifted and coked into the shape of an axe blade. He swung his new weapon at Sapphire with surprising speed.

An evil light glinted in Lapis's eyes. He rushed forward and struck Sapphire with his front hooves. "Hello, I'm Dr. Photon, and you are stopping me from achieving my goals. I suggest you cease at once. Let the monster do its job." he declared. He charged up an attack sphere and shot it at the pony who dared interfere. In truth, this made little sense. Why was he helping someone he planned to destroy? He shook his head to clear his mind. It didn't have to make any sense. He was on a mission to make things interesting. He'd do anything to avoid boredom.

Sapphire was suddenly pushed before the axeblade could come down. Hurting was ten times better than dead, and so she was thankful. But then the pony started shooting at her and she forced herself to start rolling to dodge. The sphere blew up right next to her. "I can't let... you ponies hurt... him," she mumbles, stumbling to her feet and assuming a defensive stance.

Nightfall was stunned. He couldn't keep track of all that had happened. First, Sapphire had thrown him on her back, and now there was a couple of duels going to. He turned toward the monster.

"And who sent you? What does he want me for?"

Nightfall took a simple, ready stance.

I wonder what's going on down there. Windward thought seeing a small group of ponies getting into a kerfuffle on the streets below.

Whatever. He thought ignoring the fight and flying towards a tall apartment building. When Windward arrived he walked up the stairs to his apartment unlocked his door and walked in.

Lapis smiled in that evil way that showed his uneven mind. "I don't want to hurt Nightfall. I just want to locate the scientist who created the monster. This creature was obviously sent to capture the alicorn. If I need to kill a few ponies on the way, I don't really care. You know what they say, you have to break a few eggs to make a cake, or something." he replied. He launched another energy ball. This one was stronger than the first. He was only testing Sapphire at this point. The old him still fought to hold him back. His gem began to glow green, meaning the evil half was winning.

Nightfall backed up slowly.

"What is it you want with me, monster? Who sent you, and for what purpose?"

He was beginning to doubt the intelligence of this beast, making the monster, then, unable to answer the questions Nightfall had. And without the questions answered...

Sapphire blinked a few times and pointed towards the crowd the Doctor and stepped out of with a sort of, "Uhh, dude, seriously?" look. Then she got to her hooves and through a large branch at the monster. It hit him on the back of the head. "Stinky, you boss told you to kill me!"

The doctor walked up to answer in place of the monster, being sure not to draw the attention of Lapis or Sapphire. "I haven't given up, boy. It's as simple as that." he said, "Although I have given up on controlling you with the Beruki. All I need from you now is your brain!" He glanced at his disgusting creation. "You see, Earth pony brains can't handle all those moving parts, but alicorn brains have a special wiring system that my pet needs!"

Lapis blinked in surprise. He hadn't thought the scientist would have been nearby. He was clearly a fool and was going to pay for it. He turned around and ran towards to doctor. "Well, either you are very stupid, or didn't think someone would be after you. Eh, same thing really." he shouted. He tackled the doctor with his all his strength.

"Pet? What the hell is wrong with you? You call the thing a pet? Damn you to hell for making such an abomination!"

Nightfall was snorting now, with the mist coming from his nose.

"I have no idea what goes on through that sick, twisted brain of yours, but it isn't anything I'm interested in, so find some other alicorn to mess with!"
