((OOC: Sorry i'm not posting very much, just don't know what to post))

Scout looked down at the harbor and the waters it connected to, "I don't remember it being this peaceful here... usually there is alot more going on... i wonder what the police are doing, best not to brother them though" he thought out loud to himself.

Now that he thought about it, he goes on roofs alot, probably because its easiest for Pegasus to do, and because its void of any other type of ponies. The only people Scout would work with were people who wanted him to do bounties, usually it was SipsCo work, occasionally it was someone who wanted revenge.

Scout noticed two ponies walking towards the harbor that looked rather... strange? Or maybe he just felt they were different, but they certainly weren't normal, he would wait and see what they do.

The Maven looked at him, she had circles under her eyes. She nodded tiredly and waited to follow, "Not sure how well I'll preform today," she mumbles, "Your request took a lot out of me. And ponies wonder why I don't do requests. There time for coffee?" She sighed.

He looked at the clock as it read 8:30 AM.

"We have thirty minutes to get to the mayor's office. You see, the explosion knocked out his main power supply. His backup is working, but he needs extra protection for now. We've been assigned to the job."

He put on his saddle bag, grabbed his holster with a couple pistols, and his two swords.

Neil was concerned for the foal; the poor guy wasn't eating. He didn't understand why, but it was obviously needed. He set out a drink and busied himself around the house.

 

The Maven nodded and grabbed a cup. She came back quickly and nodded to the captain,"I'm not exactly police. What'd you tell the mayor?"

 

Sapphire was giving helpful directions from the phone, and trying to tell the truth while spreading hope. It wasn't working so well.

"I told the guard who called I'd be down with potentially a couple of others to help, meaning if something else happens, you may go elsewhere and take care of it."

Nightfall strapped the swords to his back. After all, they weren't ceremonial swords.

"And I know you aren't police. You just help. So you may come if you like, but I'm not going to force you to do anything."

She shrugged, "Nice swords. It's to bad a song wasn't played at it's making. I like song-swords. I wonder what would happen if I played a song for a swordmaker. I wonder if the sword would be special." She realized she was rambling and blushed, "Lead on... Captain." She realized then she hadn't asked his name. She felt doubly embarrassed.

Nightfall didn't quite feel the effects of the previous song, but with the coffee, he felt energetic. He leapt out of the building. Of course, the city, after the explosion, was in disarray. Old buildings had collapsed, and rubble littered almost all of the streets. He started walking off towards the mayor's building.

Lapis stirred. He jolted awake, energy claws springing to life. He looked around, hoping not to get attacked from a blind spot. Lapis spotted Jack beneath a tree. "How long was I out? And why are you still here?" he asked slightly panicked. Jack could have poisoned him or something. Just to watch him die slowly. He wouldn't put it passed the jerk. His inability to be hurt by his attacks really got to Lapis.

 

Photon awakened as well. He was beginning to consider working with Lapis Lazuli. That way, their power levels could combine and strike down this upstart. The taste of revenge would be very sweet indeed.

Another one of Jack's one-eyed spiders was creeping in the shadows near Nightfall. It was exhausted from searching. For such a small creature, he was able to project his voice very well. "Need to talk, very important." he said to Nightfall as he crept from the shadows.

Nightfall turned quickly, one sword out as he saw the creature.

"Wait... I've seen you before... But from... Never mind that, I'm busy. What do you want, and make it fast!"

Nightfall almost sound half-uninterested, half-pissed to himself. He hoped he wasn't being rude...

The spider blinked his only eye and relayed the message he had been sent to tell. He spoke in a hurried voice, "I do not want. Not me. He wants. Master has a help for you, a good one! Master wants to give you help, but first you must come and see. You will see, yes? You will come, yes?"

The Musical Maven looked at the spider, thinking, I do not trust this one. It's not that he's a spider, it's that he called his boss master. "... I dunno about this one Nightfall. If you go, will you be as beat up as the first time we met? I'm not sure I could perform a healing spell like that again."

"Not beat," the spider insisted further, "Help. He'll make you stronger. He wants you to be stronger. He helps you, yes? You will come with me, yes? Yes?" It was becoming more frantic and impatient. everything about him was unsettling, though he spoke the truth.

Her ears rang with truth, but... "What's in it for him? If Nightfall gets stronger, what's in it for you boss?" She immediately thought of Nightfall's marefriend, which was the line she, and he, couldn't cross. As far as she was concerned, anything sacrificing justice, the law, or romance was wrong.

The spider had no answer. He had done what he was told and lacked the intelligence to persuade them further. He simply repeated his message with added urgency. "Do not know. You will get strong, master makes you that way, he will! You will come now, Yes? Not much time. Need you to come soon. You will follow, yes? You will, yes?"

Butajiri grabbed the sword's hilt at the top and the base and pulled them apart. The handle opened and extended with a pink, fleshy substance. "Your question can be answered simply. This is no sword. This is a portal strait to hell. I can summon the souls of the damned and do all sorts of fun things."

Monsters attract attention. Truly, I am a monster in more ways than one." Butajiri said, never taking his eyes off the sword.

Nightfall put extreme emphasis on that final word.

"Oh, and tell him to meet me by the capitol building. Understand?"

Nightfall was severely torn. He felt, and knew, he should do his duty towards the mayor. But his curiosity felt a tug to go with the spider...

"Maven... Wait a minute... I'm coming."

Another Nightfall came out from nowhere, and went up to the spider.

"I'll go."

On the inside, the real Nightfall, the one with the Maven, smiled, knowing he might trick the spider and his master with his soul clone. But, he realized the last time he had used a soul clone several days earlier he was almost killed...

Do you really want to be known as the sidekick of a pony who killed a city ? Why dont you just go down your own bad things... like kill Celestia or something, Or why don't you become a hero ? thats an easy job all you do is catch bad ponies and lock them up, thats it.

The spider led Nightfall away from the cafe. He continued to mumble a few things as he walked. After some time, they came across a wooded clearing at the outskirts of town. There sat Jack, leaning under a mulberry tree with a curious orb. When Jack saw that they were close, he lifted the black orb with one hoof and pointed to Nightfall with the other. "Do you care for any ponies in this city?" he asked, "Would you protect them at the highest cost?"
