Jack said grumpily, "Nightfall, in ten minutes I need you to be outside and ready." He walked outside without waiting for either of them to respond.

 

Maven cringed, "Come on, a little bit of sympathy? Perhaps a tad of empathy? Your 'student,' as you call him, just had a battle with one of his toughest foes yet. Plus, it's kinda his day off," she blushed, because that was kind of the reason she was here; to see if Nightfall was up for a date.

 

Nightfall sighed.

"Maven, I can't do this. He's asking too much of me. Maybe he knows it, but honestly, I can't so what he wants me to do. I'll die if I keep trying this hard. I almost have..."

He looked at his bandages, then at Maven. The hurt was slowly coming back. He thought Jack would kill him if he didn't obey him. He just wanted to be with Maven for a bit.

Den stonewalled their link so she wouldn't feel his remorse, and looked away so she couldn't see his tears. "Can you see hearts right now?" He asks.

 

Maven sighs, and walks over to him, "Jack is a pretty good judge, and he gains nothing through your death. He actually loses time. So I trust him; I'll wait. I'm good at waiting."She sighs again.

"You'll wait, but can I? Honestly, I can't wait... I have a feeling I've screwed up royal somewhere and I have to die soon to pay for it. I don't want you to see it or die with me when it happens. You have a life to live. I've got nothing..."

Nightfall looked out. It looked like rain over the city. He felt like going there now and paying his sacrifice.

"No." was a simple reply she made, but after that, she curled up in a ball and just continued her waterfall of sadness. "I'm sorry Den, but I really don't want to talk anymore... Just execute me like I deserve." Cherry Blossom cried as she started hitting herself.

Maven looked at him, and blocked his exit, "What are you talking about, Nightfall. What price deserves death? What is it you think you've done?" Inwardly she was furious he hadn't already told her. Weren't they supposed to be dating? Did it just occur to him that his death might actually have an effect on her life?

 

Den stood with his mouth wide open, "K-k-k-kill you?" he practically choke on the words. "Cherry, you're just a little sick, that's all. You don't deserve to die over something you can't control!" His eyes were still wet with tears, "And if you die, how am I ever going to pay back that date?" He tried humor.

Maven looked at him, and blocked his exit, "What are you talking about, Nightfall. What price deserves death? What is it you think you've done?" Inwardly she was furious he hadn't already told her. "Everything. It's all my fault, and always has been. I don't expect you to ever understand."

He almost violently pushed her out of the way and continued, wondering what he was actually doing. He had questions about himself, about others... He hated it when he felt like this, but never really wanted to leave this mood when it came.

Jack waited outside between the graves of Gama and Rando. If Nightfall failed or, more likely, gave up on his task. Jack would become like Rando and no pony would be able to stop him. Nothing makes death worse than knowing your own body will be used by a demon.

Cherry Blossom slowly turned around and put his hooves around her own neck. "Please do it Den, because I don't want to live anymore. Even if I was sick, I was still responsible for all those deaths," she implied as tears ran down her face. She was extremely sad.

Magneus raised his nose in the air and raised a brow, "Okay, I never knew I could do this but... its almost as if I can... smell... power? Or something similar to that. But it doesn't have a scent. It just... is there." he sighed and looked in the direction it seemed to be coming from. "Whatever it is it smells dangerous... but also sad... and confused..."

Maven looked at him sorrowfully, frowning. Nighty, why aren't you talking to me? Is it because I'm not... not strong enough to help? Do you still love me? Ugg, this is getting to my head too much. She played her flute quietly inside.

 

Den's tears resumed flowing, "Well, maybe you think that way, but what if you made up for the killings? What if we went back out on the streets and saved ponies?" He couldn't stop thinking about the bottle of ammonia he'd left at home. Or he'd thought, but in truth his subconcious had put it in his sash and his subconcious reached for it. He held the bottle up to his face and recognized it. The urge to drink it was becoming stronger.

Jack walked back inside, interrupting Nightfall and Maven. "I'm ready for you. If you plan on training, meet me in my unnecessarily large shack up the side of the hill." On that awkward note, he closed the door and walked up the hill to a shack that was slightly larger than his. Own house.

Nightfall kept going, not knowing whether he wanted or not. He thought about what he was doing. He stopped in some alleyway. The rain was beginning to fall. He looked and saw he was in a dead end. He closed his eyes, and tears started rolling down his cheeks. The rain was cold.

"What am I doing?"

Den turned the bottle so she could see the homemade lable and set it on the floor, siting next to it. "I was about 2 minutes away when Wits came in and handed me my badge back," he mumbles, "I've killed ponies. Two; both foals. I've also taking the beatings of a lifetime atleast three to four times now." He shuddered, "I really, really don't want you dead Cherry."

"I'm a monster Den, I'm nothing, but a monster." Her mane got in her face, but she didn't mind, she didn't want Den to see her anyway. "i deserve to die Den. I've been a wreck my whole life and I think it's time to end it." Cherry Blossom let out another sigh as she slapped herself.

He scoured through all of his memories of her until he found the ones he cherished most; Him waking up in her bed, and telling her about his life, the both of the at the fancy resturaunt, when she'd spoken French, the moment they'd first met and his uncertainty, anything in his memories that could show her how much he loved her. And how she once was a good pony.

"Just kill me Den, and make it long and painful as I deserve it..." she sat there, as if she was awaiting an execution.

He scowled, "Ask me for anything else. Anything else but this Cherry. This is one thing that I cannot do for you," he says evenly. His eyes were still glowing, "How about instead you show me all the times you were getting bullied in Cloudsdale," he said, semi outloud, and semi-in her head.

Cherry Blossom turned around and grabbed his shoulders roughly. She stared into his eyes very seriously and her eyes shined brightly red. Images of her suffering were being projected into his mind. She cried even more now, but she was suddenly feeling angry at Den.
