SonOfTheNorthe 412 September 4, 2012 Share September 4, 2012 Alright, so you know how Celestia's and Luna's manes are all like this in the beginning? Well, here's what I think. I think that when Celestia used the Elements of Harmony on Nightmare Moon, the residual effect made their manes all flowey. Surely harnessing the most powerful magic known to ponydom has to have some sort of side effect, right? The reason it hasn't happened to the mane 6 is because it's spread out across six ponies.
Dusty Soul 2,612 September 4, 2012 Share September 4, 2012 I don't think this idea is crazy at all... It does make sense that that's why their manes are like that. So I must agree with this theory... SilverHeart 741 September 4, 2012 Share September 4, 2012 I like that theory. My theory is just that they are so powerful that they basically radiate magic and it shows through their manes. The reason Luna looked like she did at the end of the second episode was that the elements drained her of her magic for a short time. Not the best theory I'm sure, but it makes sense. 1 Silver Heart, Lapis, Mirror Image-My OC Ponies. Signature by PixiGlow Are you bored? Read my fanfic! silvadel 1,393 September 4, 2012 Share September 4, 2012 The way I look at it is 20+ units of energy as a pegasus or alicorn. Certain unicorns like twilight could hold a touch more before the mane goes critical and starts flowing(23+ in her case). In my opinion rainbow dash is very close to having a mane flow like celestia's(I give her 18 points) All you would need to do is add a little extra magic and it would flash over. Just like if you weaken luna or celestia enough, their mane stops flowing. Silvadel, the Pegasus of Insight.
PonyPowaX1000 69 September 5, 2012 Share September 5, 2012 (edited) I like your theory, but when I asked a similar question I was told t's not to be taken seriously because it's an illustration from a book......... Homura Akemi 974 September 5, 2012 Share September 5, 2012 (edited) Looking at that picture better, I now understand why filly Celestia is often depicted with a pink mane instead of the multi-colored one. It was an adorable mane to begin with! Edited September 5, 2012 by Dίsмαjo
Kittybelle 95 September 6, 2012 Share September 6, 2012 I think it just looks like filly them. I have wondered why Luna doesn't have a flowy mane like celestia, considering she is now responsible for night again... Interesting theory
Stary Dreams 87 September 7, 2012 Share September 7, 2012 My theory is that their manes turned like that due to them being able to harness the most powerful magic known to ponydom and raising the sun and moon but yes I agree with this theory too. Flame Blitz 85 September 7, 2012 Share September 7, 2012 Makes some sense. But, Luna had that "solid" mane when she came back, and she didn't had contact with the elements since so. So, what happened?
XUNUSEDXXX 3,459 September 7, 2012 Share September 7, 2012 Doesn't really make sense, but I always wonder why, just because they are princesses, their manes flow like water, so I will have to go with your theory for now.
