Condemned fandom

It has been brought to my attention that the brony fandom has been doomed. Now I can be wrong about this, but it seems like the more 'active' fans are the ones ruining it.

Example:the YouTube brony. All they do is lurk YouTube trying to convert people into bronies like some sort of religion.

Example 2: Cloppers. The sickos that get off to animated ponies. Nuff said

Example 3: Fan art. Now don't get ahead of me, the casual fan art is cool, but the ones that make human versions of the mane 6. And again, this example was something someone else I've spoken to brought up.

 

Now let me put this in perspective, I am a die hard fan of the Final Fantasy video game franchise and I will buy anything on this earth that has that name on it. Now in all my time being a fan, I've never seen any of the 3 examples I just put. I am aware that I'm making this thread to long and I'll end it here, because even though this is more of a defense of my fellow bronies than an attack on them, I just need to get this out there

Cloppers aren't bad people, they may get aroused by different things, but hey who am I to judge? Let the cloppers do their own thing in the privacy of their homes

The fan artist. This was an even more ignorant statement. The human rendition of the mane 6 is not bad at all, it just shows off the creative side of people, and I believe no one should criticize creativity. I've come to appreciate that side of the fandom. Let it be known that my animosity towards them has been vanquished, and I will "love and tolerate" every side of the great mlp fandom!

Well here's just my two cents on what you've said

 

Example one: I agree. It makes us all seem like we are close minded and ignorant to the fact that it's OK if someone doesn't share our opinion

 

Example two: I personally don't like clopping and even hate to think about it but I wouldn't judge.Not everyone thinks the way I do though so I can see hwy that turns people off.

THIS is the problem I have with bronies. PEOPLE LIKE THIS. You claim to love and tolerate but you freak out at another member of your fanbase. What difference does it make if i clop? NONE. I keep my stuff to myself. If anything is ruining the fandom, it's close minded people like you.

What's wrong with humanized? It's an art style, and while I'm not a fan of it, I appreciate the work they put into it.

Oh, get over it. Porn is in every single fandom in existence. I'm so sick of people whining about cloppers as if it's some sin that's never been seen before. Not only does it not concern you in any way, but like I said, it's everywhere, so treating it as some stain that the brony fandom has, that will result in it being doomed is laughable.

For Example 1: I'll agree with you for that one. We're not a cult or anything.

 

For Example 2: People have the right to do what they like in the privacy of their own homes so long as it isn't illegal. Not very tolerate of you...

 

For Example 3: Okay, this one makes little sense. Humanizing a nonhuman character is pretty cool. Especially how people have different interpretations on how the ponies would look like human.

 

Yeah, those are my thoughts. Just voicing my opinion like you. Eh, I like the diversity those fans bring. They stay themselves and just enjoy ponies like the rest of us.

I'll go ahead and agree with this, even though I have never heard anyone complain about it. Alas none in my circle are avid youtubers anyway.

I'll be honest this doesn't really bother me unless it's to the CMC or other young "children" in the show...and even then I won't say anything (Unless it's this situation, on a forum where everyone is speaking their mind) and I'll even be honest I have tried it, not my thing. I appreciated the quality of some of the art though. Not much because alot of it from what I could tell wasn't done very well. But I am getting really off track here.

1) I have been slapped and screamed at because I have pointed out flaws in FF games. I have also encountered people who refuse to have anything to do with people who aren't fans of Final Fantasy.

 

2) Final Fantasy porn exists. I have seen it (but no, I will not supply links as that would be naughty of me)

 

3) Loads of fan art exists for FF which does weird stuff with the characters (Gender bending for example).

 

 

Given how well the Final Fantasy series is doing, I cannot see our fandom suffering because of these things that you dislike due to your own tastes. I have found that clopper art is often pretty damn funny myself.

Um....I don't want to hurt your virgin ears, but Final Fantasy kind of has the exact same type of stuff...........Then again Final Fantasy was condemned when they couldn't produce a game that doesn't suck in several tries.

 

If you want to you can find some pretty twisted fan stuff of Final Fantasy. That is far from MLP exclusive.

 

Though to be honest the words Youtube instantly makes people stupid.

I think having ponies on every corner of the Internet is bad. It makes people judge the show as annoying before they've even seen it. We all like different things, though. Having ponies on the front page of dA all the time doesn't help either.

Well I'm gonna be frank with you, I fear I'll become one these someday. Because I'll be truthful of this too, last month I was one of those trolls bashing on mlp even though I've never seen the show, and now I can't get it out of my head and my life has become 20% cooler because of it. Well I'm gonna be frank with you, I fear I'll become one these someday. I will respectfully disagree with you on the artwork however. There is nothing wrong with drawing fan art in any form in my oppinion, even the humanized ponies. Sure I may find some pieces, particularly the Rule 34 stuff, distasteful. But they have the right to draw those images, and they are not unique in that. Why all the hate, so what if cloppers like that, are you a morally superior being? Are you so mighty as to command others as to what is right and wrong, get off the pedestal. Its a fetish, we've all got them, and it hurts no one. With the youtubers, have you noticed that most are probably trolls, or don't really care? Youtube is full of people like that, don't expect them maybe being bronies to change that, they're still people with anonymity. What is wrong with humanized version of them? Not all YT bronies are hardcore converters.

There will be "cloppers" in any and all fandoms in existence. It's unavoidable. And there are people like that when it comes to Final Fantasy.

. . . What's wrong with human versions of ponies? Some of them are really cute and well done. And there's obviously Final Fantasy fan art, but since the characters are generally human, what are you gonna do?
