Toughbrony20 24 September 6, 2012 Share September 6, 2012 How many songs are there on season 1 and 2? I'm barely gonna watch the episode after swarm of the century, so I want to mentally prepare myself for what's to come!
RarityBestPony 54 September 6, 2012 Share September 6, 2012 Well theres only about a handful (maybe 1/3 of episodes feature a song) however there are alot of short songs like hop, skip and jump that run under a minute. and there are maybe 15 full length feature songs (art of the dress, at the gala, winter wrap-up) although all the feature songs are amazing and super catchy. but some stand out more in my opinion, but you will find those songs you love. just remember all songs are different. Toughbrony20 24 September 6, 2012 Author Share September 6, 2012 Well about that, I actually wanted to know because I've never been fond of musical numbers like that, so I just skip them instead
ErBoi 501 September 6, 2012 Share September 6, 2012 (edited) I actually counted recently but I don't remember. One sec, off to check again... Season 1 has 17 songs. 19 if you include reprisals (Art of the Dress and Evil Enchantress). Season 2 has 14 songs. 16 if you include reprisals (B.B.B.F.F. and This Day Aria). EDIT: Man, I love musicals and musical numbers in shows like this. I think you should at least listen to the big ones like Winter Wrap Up and Smile, Smile, Smile. Ink 191 September 6, 2012 Share September 6, 2012 Why skip them, though? The MLP songs are good, it's even possible to listen to them without watching the show like you'd do with regular music. Some of them add a little to the plot, too. Not sure if you mind spoilers to some degree, but if you look up the Winter Wrap Up song that's a good example. It's so catchy, I can't imagine skipping it. Regality 233 September 6, 2012 Share September 6, 2012 There are more songs in season one, but season two's songs are of a higher quality and catchier in my opinion. A few of the standout songs from both seasons would include This Day Aria, Smile Smile Smile, The Flim Flam Brothers Song, At The Gala, and Winter Wrap-Up. ~~
Toughbrony20 24 September 6, 2012 Author Share September 6, 2012 I skipped the winter wrap up song, I mean I would probably hear it if it gave a sign of a song starting, but instead it got me by surprise and skipped it.
Dusty Soul 2,611 September 6, 2012 Share September 6, 2012 Yeah I don't know why you would skip them, but whatever man... Season 1 has WAY more songs then season 2, but season 2 songs are better then the season 1 songs... pinkiefan1287 610 September 6, 2012 Share September 6, 2012 I felt the same way as you did. When I started watching this show the one thing I was going to hate were the songs. As one of my rules I try everything even herring the opening. When I heard it I thought was good and then when I heard Pinkie Pies song and I liked it. It just felt like a goofy song with an odd lesion in it, but I liked it. Then after I heard all the songs and saw that they were very great. Now I am fine that you don't listen to the song your choice, but maybe just watch one on Youtube or something. Made by Gone ϟ Airbourne
Toughbrony20 24 September 7, 2012 Author Share September 7, 2012 I see where this is going. I used to skip the intro, but now I forced myself to adapt to it, it's not bad once you get used to it really!
rainbow_hearts 148 September 8, 2012 Share September 8, 2012 I like you! You seem new! I will welcome you here after I tell you the number of songs in each episode. Season 1: Seventeen. Season 2: Fourteen. Season 3: Two known so far. So welcome.
Abstract 832 September 8, 2012 Share September 8, 2012 Chalk up another one for "Winter Wrap-Up" being the song you find stuck in your head and humming to yourself during the most inappropriate times. It's that good. "Let the steel of my resolve be not bested by the sum of my fears."
Rarietty 632 September 8, 2012 Share September 8, 2012 (edited) Just saying, as you're new around here season 3 apparently is going to have a song pretty much every episode, due to there only being 13 episodes. I definitely think that the songs are growing in variety and epicness each season, and season 2 set the bar really high. Seriously though, listening to Winter Wrap Up made me realize how awesome the show is. Songs in season 2 like The Flim Flam Brothers and This Day Aria (Smile is actually one of my least favorite longs songs, please don't take this offensively ) set the bar way higher. Just saying .
