Inngy 18 September 8, 2012 Share September 8, 2012 As previously stated, it is a troll site. Personally, I don't get offended by hardly anything on there, since, they basically make fun of everything and everyone, so if that's the case I find it pointless to get upset over(I do tend to stay away from the My Little Pony page though, in fear of finding pony pornography, and the Cupcakes fan fiction). The same goes for South Park, and other shows that make fun of current events. Just now realizing where that "an hero" thing comes from, is a bit of a shock, and they may be taking things a bit too far, but hey, it's the internet, and unfortunately that's what some people do. I do find the TF2 page to be a little humorous in the way they word the item descriptions.
000 206 September 8, 2012 Share September 8, 2012 (edited) I already know there are sick people like that on the Internet. And really I try to ignore them. But this kid went through so much suffering, you would think he can rest in peace. But no, Some s***head who laughs when a baby drowns in cat piss is harassing a couple of friendly parents who are struggling with their emotions. Those people are the real stupid c*n*s. But yeah, it's good to ignore those people and parts of that Website. Edited September 8, 2012 by SweetieBelle Excel
Evilshy 5,090 September 8, 2012 Share September 8, 2012 Oh, and a quick clarification: an hero usually refers to somebody kills themselves for a stupid reason. Henderson, for example, decided to off himself because his iPod broke, or something like that. Signature now 99% less edgy!
Nouth 496 September 8, 2012 Share September 8, 2012 Giving out personal information about individuals is, in my opinion, highly wrong. On the other hoof, I do not have anything against the other articles, although they may not always be funny. sleepyhead. 174 September 8, 2012 Share September 8, 2012 (edited) I love ED. Some of the articles are hilarious, but I have a dark sense of humor. Also, I am not one to get easily butthurt over my favourite fandom/culture/etc.getting made fun of/satirized so it's always a great read for me. I guess I'm just someone who can laugh at myself more easily than others. I'm sorry that other people find this stuff offensive. The internet can be a cruel place sometimes. However, It's silly to expect everything to be happy rainbow smiles. IDK, I guess I browse 4chan enough so I'm a little dead inside and immune to all those things. Cocodrillo 1,565 September 8, 2012 Share September 8, 2012 I love Encyclopedia Dramatica. Yes, it might offend someone (and sorry about that, but I never though someone would actually take that site seriously), but I like the efford they have to run that page. They don´t just harass, they really research informations, so if there is a rumor about something, you can just check out if it´s true easily. For example, rumors about Boxxy´s death. I was like "wtf, it can´t be true", so I checked ED and found out it wasn´t. You can also find useless trivia like how the Pedobear was created and stuff. Who doesn´t love useless trivia? Well, let´s just say I love ED. 1 Try to try again To see yourself again from time to time.
FoxyCryptid 4,330 September 8, 2012 Share September 8, 2012 (edited) I would have no problem if they had a "no interference" policy like Unencyclopedia and just reported and lampooned what was already there, and stuck with people that deserved it. it's the actual provoking people to get dirt that bothers me. I cheered when it once got shut down. Also, some idiots do take the site seriously and attack people, and that's were problems arise. Halfblood 364 September 8, 2012 Share September 8, 2012 I actually go on the site regularly and used to go to school with the guy who wrote the bulk of the "Life" article. It's an amusing little satirical archive of the Internet's underbelly and has a way of beating to death things that are easily exploited. It's not for everyone but if you have the sense of humor and stomach for it, it's a thoroughly comedic read. What's not understood is that they are literally indiscriminate with who or what they choose to parody. It's meant to push your buttons. If you let it, you're doing something horribly wrong. I happen to enjoy looking up articles on things I'm interested in. It's fun, I suppose, seeing something you're invested in totally debiliatated by some site. This is probably the best description of ED I've ever read. Again, ED is a site where anything and everything is parodied and shamed in a humorously harsh manner. Nothing is spared, and anything written should never really be taken seriously. I understand where a majority of people can be offended, insulted, and even hurt by the site's content, but the only real damage that is done is what you allow there to be. Personally, I don't have a problem with it. If you wanna see, go on and tear it outta me!
Homura Akemi 974 September 8, 2012 Share September 8, 2012 (edited) Some people on there have earned one-way tickets to be poked fun at on ED, but I hate the An Hero meme as you said. I'd have to say that's my least favorite meme of all time. Edited September 8, 2012 by Dίsмαjo
bagelbass 29 September 9, 2012 Share September 9, 2012 The point of the site is to document all instances of stupidity, particularly Internet stupidity. They document all cases of "e-drama", and troll other sites in hopes of getting a funny reaction to post on their own site. The site revolves around the way people act, and creating this forum is giving them exactly what they want. Don't feed the trolls. 2 Credits to Cloud Chaser for the signature and avatar. Whiteshade 1,426 September 9, 2012 Share September 9, 2012 I agree, ED needs to be more politically correct. After all, political correctness is the epitome of progress, and hence every person should strive for it. If someone is ever offended, then a sin is surely committed, and should have consequences. Warning: Signature may cause seizures, owner will sue you if you complain Nothing happens, yet everything changes.
