gaming Crysis Wars

Out of sheer morbid curiosity, does anyone here own Crysis Warhead - and by extension, Crysis Wars?

It's presently five dollars on Steam, and is honestly one of the most enjoyable first person shooters I've played in terms of multiplayer deathmatch/team deathmatch stuff. Despite the fact that it tends to get written off by a lot of people for being ALL GRAPHICS NO GAMEPLAY ETC, it's actually quite enjoyable - the suit powers and such add a fair bit to the game, while things like the day/night rotation in multiplayer helps to mix things up more than you might expect.

So yeah - not sure if anyone here owns the game or is interested in getting it, but if you happen to fit into either category i'd be happy to get you invited into some of the smallish private games I have sometimes with a few associates of mine.

It also has hand-held nuclear weapons in one particular game mode, which can lead to silly situations like the following, which I illustrated (very poorly) a couple years ago.

I do own both Crysis 1 and Crysis Warhead on steam. I haven't played online that much, just some little 1 on 1 hide and seek with a friend of mine. Hahah Good times.

I've done that too, to be honest.

Seriously - hide and seek at night in (Power Struggle) Frost is a ridiculous amount of fun - the map is small enough to not make it a huge chore to search around in, but has enough cover to keep it practical for the people trying to hide. :)

I played Crysis 1 last year. Became infuriated by it because I couldn't find my way around the maps and enemy Korean forces liked to use Jeeps a whole lot. I rage quit soon afterwards.

Warhead was fun and well worth buying. Unfortunately (or perhaps not) I lost my disk and need to repurchase it on Steam at some point. Losing that disk might have been a boon since I wouldn't have to do my own patch management with Steam. Haven't played Crisis Wars but might consider it. Honestly, the MMO and MMOFPS genres are so over-saturated right now that I don't know where to begin when it comes to multiplayer gaming these days. There are plenty of things I've wanted to play but I just feel lost anymore. Red Orchestra 2 is about the only multiplayer experience that has grabbed me in the past year. I've heard lots of good things about Crysis 2 so I'll be grabbing that while it's on sale.

The first Crysis truly was little more than eye candy from my perspective. Gameplay was pretty dull and repetitive, and the plot seemed kind of weak, though the as-of-then unannounced sequels did much to help with that. When it comes to glitches, Crysis was king. I don't think it's an exaggeration to say that, at launch, Crysis felt like it was still in the beta phase. The best part about the original in my opinion was the hardware stress it could induce. There was no better graphical benchmark for a machine than Crysis back then.

i just bought crysis warhead (i've played the SP long ago, only bought it for the prospect of playing the MP) from the steam sale you mentioned, but i'm afraid i'm not around for most days of the week (at least until the end end of the year) so i guess i won't be playing it much :(

Signature to come soon. I think. Yeah. Once I think up a nice one. Or when someone makes one for me. Damn it. I need more time to draw and animate poni. >_<

I've had every Crysis game so far since their releases so yes, I do own them. I've played through Crysis and Crysis Warhead so many times now and I never really get tired of it.

I haven't played much of the multiplayer side of Crysis and Crysis Wars due to few servers and whatnot.

We should totally pway sometime :3
