Lost 1,410 September 22, 2012 Share September 22, 2012 Sooo... I've been using a Razer Megaladon since it was released years ago, it is an awesome headset that works perfectly but it recently started to rattle when certain low pitches are played and it creaks/squeaks rather loudly when i move my head from side to side. I figured it was about time i got a new headset so forked out £150 for the new Razer headset - Razer Tiamat 7.1, It boasts true 7.1 surround sound as apposed to most others that just have virtual 7.1 surround sound, the headset arrived and i eagerly plugged it in. The headset was constantly putting out a static/interference noise (similar to the one you get if you sit a phone on top of a speaker as you get a phone call or text message) the sound was also dreadful, it sounded unbelievably flat and tinny, as if there were no sub-woofer, i tried to fix the problem through equalizers and using bass boost but i had no luck in making it anywhere near acceptable. I've always loved Razer gear, all of my peripherals are Razer, but this headset was so bad that i have lost all confidence in them, i even contacted them to tell them this but i am yet to have any form of reply back from them. So, i'm wondering what headset everyone uses and what they would recommend, and has anyone else used a Razer Tiamat 7.1? I'm considering buying an Astro A50, but they are £250+ :/ 2 Your friendly neighborhood alcoholic motorcyclist Life is too short to worry what others think of you, be creative, be weird, live life. Smokin'HotRarity 182 September 22, 2012 Share September 22, 2012 Is it only youtube that does this? It might be a glitch in youtube. If it is, here's what you can do. Go into control panel, find your MacroMedia Flash or Shockwave settings. And clear everything, and reset to default. S.V.R. Stop. Violent. Recreation, I know it's tuff but let's all try to stop playing violent videogames, violent TV, violent thinking, and just violence in general. Bucky McGillyCuddy 956 September 22, 2012 Share September 22, 2012 I previously used a pair of Turtle Beach Z6A's but they broke so I've ordered a pair of Astro A40's. A50's would be cool but to me wireless just isn't worth the Bits. If you'd be so kind as to check out some of my drawings, I would really appreciate feedback. http://mlpforums.com/topic/82464-feedback-is-magic/?hl=feedback+is+magic#entry2127254 http://mlpforums.com/topic/82871-what-happens-when-a-pony-fights-a-griffin/?p=2178588

Lumen 106 September 22, 2012 Share September 22, 2012 I got Logitech G35 surround sound headset. Very comfy and the sound quality is a lot better than the headset I used before. It also has ear-enclosing design and three customizable G-keys which is pretty awesome. Archangel 143 September 23, 2012 Share September 23, 2012 My favorite headset was the Logitech 3330, or something like that. The red one that goes behind your head. I'm currently using a G930 but after a while my mic boom is starting to bend and break and the software acts up a lot. So I'm not buying it again. "Judge not, and you shall not be judged. Jaded Avaricious 36 September 24, 2012 Share September 24, 2012 currently have the TTESports shock spin HD gaming headset. it's great for gaming especially playing Amnesia and Slender... spooky, but her giggle at the ghostie hehehehe *snort snort* hahaha Anypony would be hard pressed to get me to hate them even if they were to attack me I would most likley considder their reasoning behind it and try my best to disuede them and help them. I have a disposition to want to eleviate the suffering of other beings, suffering myself just for having seen another in pain. I guess you could say I represent the very aspect of humanity. I always put others before myself. I will always choose right from wrong. Good from evil. I show Compassion and willingness to help others. I epitomize morality. We can go either way. White, black, or gray. That being said I would be considered the purest of whites (my ponysona just chose to be gray)
Lost 1,410 October 17, 2012 Author Share October 17, 2012 Reviving this thread! Just to say that i bought and am now using my new Astro A50s, while having a 10 hour battery life is somewhat limiting for someone like me (i spend on average 13 hours a day on my computer, sometimes more, sometimes less), The sound quality and comfort is second to none. The sheer loudness of them astounded me, when on full volume, there is enough bass to rattle the headset off my head, testing this actually gave me a headache >.> If you have the money to spend, get this headset, i must say however, that i had a small hiccup to start with, i had to run a firmware update to get the microphone working correctly. ~SadisticFluttershy~ 779 October 17, 2012 Share October 17, 2012 I don't use those kinds of headsets My headset is the Turtle Beach Earforce X12(Amplified) with Chat volume/Bass boost/Game Volume. It costs $60 USD. I have had it since June of this year, and the last one i had was the Turtle Beach Earforce Z1($20 USD) The ones i have now are really Comfy and Has excellent Bass boost and the sound quality is insane. I love my headset and i use it for hard core gaming such as COD MW3. Thanks MiniKirby! It's soooooo awesome! "Enough Chitchat time is candy!".- Pinkie Pie. "Storm Chasing is a commitment. I had a look at those, but i could not bring myself to go back to no surround sound, putting the volume high enough on either the A50 or my previous headset (the Razer Megaladon) you can pinpoint the direction and near enough exact location of someone in any game, making them essential for a CoD killing spree, if like me you play very much by sound (as-well as precision reactions ofc!) I figured that while the A50s are £250 ($300) i had the money to spend anyway PC gaming is serious business Your friendly neighborhood alcoholic motorcyclist Life is too short to worry what others think of you, be creative, be weird, live life. Lifehax 81 October 17, 2012 Share October 17, 2012 Well depending on what devices you use... Basically, I have an Xbox 360 AND Two desktop PCs and a laptop. So my headset is compatible with each one (Except the laptop because it is buggy idk) Anyway, I use a Turtle Beach X12 Headset. Compatible with PC and Xbox. Its a really good headset that I would definitely reccomend because the Mic is really really good and it captures the sound very very clearly. Audio is badass too.
RainbowXDashe 0 January 8, 2015 Share January 8, 2015 What I would recommend is the Astro A40's. It may be expensive but the reviews I've been looking at and how it looks like is a better headset. But I'm using the Turtle Beach PX22 and that is a good headset if you want it for 80 bucks.

Invincible 2,091 January 8, 2015 Share January 8, 2015 I happen to own a Razer Tiamat. It takes a bit of getting used to but other than that it's great! The sound quality is good and it blocks out outside noises quite effectively. It's built-in microphone leaves something to be desired, but it's not too terrible either if you find yourself using it.
