For All Applejack Fans

I've seen many people complaining about how AJ has been largely neglected in terms of screen time and character development(for the record I agree). So I was wondering if you have any ideas for episodes that could showcase her, give us greater insight into her mind and just show all of us how great she is. I'm really curious what you can come up with and if I can think of anything I'll post straightaway

I believe the reason why Applejack has so little screen time is because she is the most, well, normal pony of the mane six. She's mature, hardworking, without odd habits and big goals. She just lives her life.

It is very hard to make an interesting and engaging episode about such character. They managed to do it twice, and both times it was about her trying to bite more than she could chew. Can they come up with something different, yet entertaining? Hope so.

That's because they don't even TRY to explore her. I can think up a lot of ways that would make for a good AJ episode.

1. We actually SEE her compete in the rodeo

2. An episode about her bad manners and her huge appetite

3. Possible one about her "singing" voice

4. One where she interacts with Fluttershy about animals

5. Arguing with others and bad-temper lesson

 

EDIT: Oh yes, one more specific one: where she's jealous of the other ponies' talents, like RD's sonic rainboom and Twi's powerful magic.

 

EDIT2: Yet another one about her finding a new hobby. They could make RD like reading, so why don't they make AJ like...I dunno, writing?

 

That's seven ideas I could come up with, about 3 times more than the amount of episodes AJ actually has.

They've made a huge mistake in The Last Roundup, mentioning the rodeo all the time, and never actually showing it. If they do it now, they better wrap it up with other original ideas, or it would feel merely like a changed version of TLR.

Yeah, stretch that over ~20 minutes and make it worthwhile. Hard stuff.

That's nice, I can imagine a singing competition, where AJ suffers like RD suffered in Sonic Rainboom. If only they could make it different enough.

 

4. One where she interacts with Fluttershy about animals

 

Oh, yes, and in the episode, they meet wild animals who are immune to Fluttershy's stare and kindness, and only after receiving a violent kick from Applejack, followed by some strong words, they calm down. As an idea.

But, I thought we need an AJ episode, not an AJ+somepony episode.

 

5. Arguing with others and bad-temper lesson

 

See point 2. Actually, yes, if you combine 2 with 5 into one episode, it could come out quite nicely. Imagine, Applejack screws up in a lot of ways, thinks to herself that everypony else turned their backs on her, but in the end goes "Dear princess Celestia, if you accidentally ruin everything, it does not mean this is the end", and so on. Kinda like Party of One, but with actual logic behind it.

 

Where she's jealous of the other ponies' talents, like RD's sonic rainboom and Twi's powerful magic

 

I just can't imagine AJ being jealous. When you're hard-working, you normally don't have time to be jealous of something.

 

Yet another one about her finding a new hobby

 

You always can come up with ancient secret of the past, or hidden properties (*cough*cutiemark*cough*) of somepony. But it has to give a morale. 1. Rodeo episode doesn't even have to be related to the Last Roundup.

2. Everything could be possible.

3. Perhaps Sweetie Belle could give a lesson to AJ, as repayment for getting her and her sister together?

4. Why all the unnecessary aggressiveness in that comment? It's just an idea for goodness' sake..

5. Party of One is much more different from my idea. AJ doesn't believe her friends deserted her or anything, she would be the one being the jerk in that episode. Or maybe it isn't such a good idea...don't want lovely AJ to be a jerk anywhere. <3

Mane Pony(ies): Applejack

Episode Idea: Applejack visits Canterlot to find a special ingredient found only in Canterlot for the special pies they sell every fall. As shes walking around Canterlot a bunch of high class, fancy, (sorta mean) ponies make fun of her for being so country and her country hat and hair. They tell her she should act more like them and take her to fancy her up. Acting all fancy, Applejack dosent feel like herself and she relizes it dosent matter what anypony else things of you, just to be yourself.

Setting: Canterlot

 

I love AJ and totally do think she needs more episodes! i think she has grown a lot as a character but Id still love to see her a lot more!

I wish I could imitate the accent without hurting mah voice. It sucks. Why couldn't I have been born with an accent? I guess it's because Miami is mostly latino.....and Charlotte doesn't seem to have Southern people at all :/.

I agree there need to be more apple jack episodes. any way it seems that in any AJ episodes, there is a major problem with apple jack. ex: over worked, running away, total chaos, etc.

I spent a decent amount of my childhood in some accented states, so I developed a hint of it when I really try. That's why I want to play Applejack in flash animations.
