I've been a bit bored recently so I decided to do some drawing

they look kinda traced. didn't you try to draw them in different poses that arent official pony artwork? like iunno fluttershy holding angel and AJ riding a cow with the caption "cow pony"

Well, tracing is what a novice would first do before they start improving, as for my opinion on this, I like it, I especially like the Applejack drawing.

I'll surely try it soon. I just want to feel a little more confident in drawing them before I start improving. I just came back to drawing about moth ago after 5 years break, so I simply need a little time and practice.

I read a book on drawing and learned some basic anatomy and learned the basic shapes so that I can create templates that I can then draw into the characters I want.Tracing gets you into bad drawing habits and essentially teaches you nothing.heres some really old art. And there's that thing about people who trace, you're actually right about it because novices are just showing that they are too afraid to move on if they chose to keep tracing stuff, therefore creating a bad habit, however I actually can't agree with you on the part where it teaches you nothing,

 

Anyways, your drawings are great.

They look nice, and if you did trace them, that's what I started doing, I just wouldn't make a habit of it... Anyways they look really nice.
