Next year (towards the end of summer) I will be going to my first convention Kumoricon. I will be going in a group of Legend of Zelda people as Princess Zelda, I am hoping to do Twilight Princess version of Zelda aswell. Any tips tricks or advice on cosplaying?

(If this is in the wrong section I apologize)

Good for you, Bunny! And welcome to the cosplay world!

I'm helping a friend on a Zelda costume (the Applejack in my avatar-- I'm going to be her Link), and I have a few tricks for you!

Personally, I'd stray away from making the Twilight Princess version as your very first cosplay, because there are so many less technical versions of Zelda out there. (Not to say that you shouldn't do it eventually!) It involves some really difficult/demanding armour work and embroidery, as well as possibly dip-dyeing, resin-casting, and jewelry making to boot. If you do your research and leave yourself plenty of time, it's possible, but it will be a LOT of hard work!

The Skyward Sword version has a lot of stuff you can thrift, as does Zelda's white dress from later in the same game. There would only be minimal wig styling to do on the second!

I have some very experienced cosplayers assisting me, and we are pretty set on twilight princess, I am very excited! I don't have to do a wig though, I have the perfect hair for it, I feel like it will be allright. Thankyou for your advice! I appreciate that you took the time to reply to this <3

Ah good, sounds like you're set, then! With some more experienced cosplayers helping you, it'll definitely be a lot easier to tackle those details. That will definitely help keep you from getting too overwhelmed!

If you're going to use your own hair (which I don't usually recommend-- sometimes it can be really hard to tame and style!), definitely run a couple tests with it first. The nice thing about Zelda's hair in TP is that it isn't too terribly complicated, though getting the wrapped strands in front to look good can be a little time-consuming.

And you're welcome, any time! Feel free to ask any specific questions if you have them, I'm happy to help however I can.
