Moog the Kvlt 1,460 June 12, 2013 Share June 12, 2013 By that, I meant that I've actually listened to an album by them in it's entirety. I enjoyed SAW 85-92, I've given Daft Punk a try and it's not exactly my thing. WOOT! Selected Ambient Work 85-92 is my all-time favorite electronic album (unless you count Kid A), and yeah, I wouldn't imagine you getting into Daft Punk, though which of their albums did you try out. Away 2,077 June 12, 2013 Share June 12, 2013 I saw one to those kids in real life the other day, must have been 12 or 13, he was wearing a Pink Floyd shirt. I almost laughed. Then again, he might have been one of those little kids who just wears certain shirts just to be like "I'm so cool, I'm wearing a stoner shirt". Pathetic are those that think Pink Floyd and others are stoner music. You have no idea how much I agree with you. I hate it when people say Pink Floyd is for druggies. Pink Floyd's music was so deep and complex. It's amazing wether you're high or not. It's a shame they have that reputation because they were actually really good musicians.

Skrillex is Brostep/Newer Dubstep and yeah he's really terrible, as for Deadmau5, he's alright though ever since 4x4=12 I've had a disliking for his stuff, though I think that you might like his Project 56/Get Scraped era since you enjoy Aphex Twin. Soundgarden 2,758 June 12, 2013 Share June 12, 2013 (edited) I thought you said that you like The Crystal Method as well, though if you need more electronic music, I'll be there for ya bro Hey, let's not forget about me, I'm also there D:< Anyways, I see you got a good grip of Dawn when it comes to electronic music. Perhaps he'll like the UK stuff I listen to someday, but I guess you'll be the one guiding him for now Edited June 12, 2013 by Chiaki Minami
Zygen 6,066 June 12, 2013 Share June 12, 2013 I really don't pay attention alot to when music is made its more like, listen to song, like song, listen to song more, and yeah. In short I don't really care about the era its made in, i've listened to songs I like from a good bit of different times. And honestly I think I've heard some good 80's stuff and good music more near present day, all depends on my mood and what not. Maybe I just like music a whole bunch to much in general. Regardless, I enjoy whatever I enjoy, I actually don't know how many bands and songs and such I can say I know what time they where made in and stuff, I just don't typically pay attention to that . 1 Thanks to Gone Airbourne for the awesome sig! Buttonmash2026 1,090 June 12, 2013 Share June 12, 2013 As I had been grown up in the 1980s I am going to set my voting up for the 1980s music. That's when I had been a teenager way back then.
Flutter's lover <3 8,210 June 12, 2013 Share June 12, 2013 I may not be a true 80s kid(born early in 89' lol)but I love 80s music, probably my fave decade for rock and roll. next would be 60s and 70s as my 2nd fave. I like big hair bands such as Metallica,AC/DC, White Snake, Poison, Zombie, and singers like Cindy Lauper, Prince, Micheal Jackson,Meatloaf, Elton John... A lot of the pop music today doesn't even match up to what it used to be. Micheal Jackson will always be the King of pop. but in the 10's it's nice to see bands like Metallica, AC/DC, Rob Zombie, and Ozzy still going at it. 1 Fluttershy's lover, she's my waifu. Moonlight 7,291 June 12, 2013 Share June 12, 2013 2010's music. The main reason being the fact that the 2010's has more variety than the 80's. They were good in the 80's (I love Kill 'em all), but have you even listened to Lulu? A fucking joke 2010's music. The main reason being the fact that the 2010's has more variety than the 80's. I honestly hated the 80's, most of the music was bad, in my opinion. Words of wisdom right there. This is what so many 50's-80's purists are missing out on: Variety. Nobody can deny that there were great bands and artists during this period, but it really lacked variety. It's a shame that people let nostalgia and stubbornness get in the way of appreciating today's music

Dark Moon 966 June 12, 2013 Share June 12, 2013 Pink Floyd Sorry to call you out, but I'm a major Pink Floyd fan. Wait a minute........ Pink Floyd was a 60's, 70's, 80's, and 90's band, except they were only really there in the 60's and 70's. Pink Floyd's really good stuff reigned in the 70's though. Atom Heart Mother(1970) Meddle(1971) Dark Side of the Moon(1973) Wish You Were Here(1975) Animals(1977) The Wall(1979) Only 3 albums came out from Pink Floyd after 1980. The Final Cut(1983): it was just okay, Water left after this A Momentary Lapse of Reason(1987): meh Division Bell(1994): it was just okay You love the 70's as well, DEAL WITH IT! Still get props for liking Floyd though, just thought I'd straighten that out. /)

The last time I checked, the radio have always been polluted with shit. Turn on your radio and tune in on a popular music radio station. See my point? But technically, it's better today, as there are a lot of stations who are oriented on specific genres and there are a lot of pirate radio stations. On a somewhat unrelated note, the most popular Swedish rock radio, Bandit Rock claim to be the most Hardcore radio station in Sweden. Guess what they regularly play? Nickelback and Pop Punk. Yep. Another proof that radio is still polluted with shit

They were playing Smashing Pumpkins (which is good), but then they started playing f.u.n. (which is awful) so yea the radio is kinda shitty. Flutter's lover <3 8,210 June 12, 2013 Share June 12, 2013 (edited) For the radio stations here, turned it on, had Bob Marley playing, because they play Bob Marley at 4:20 everyday.but usually they play quite a bit of Canadian music like Rush, Tragically Hip, The Guess Who. but they also play a lot of AC/DC, The Beatles, Black Sabbath, 3 Doors Down, Rob Zombie,Stevie Nicks, Smashing Pumpkins,Nirvana. Did you just call Metallica a hair band??? What is wrong with you? Eh, jut worded the post wrong, lol. Metallica is pure metal. one of my fave bands next to AC/DC and Rush it's all rock and roll in some shape or form though,. Edited June 12, 2013 by Flutter Dash 1 Fluttershy's lover, she's my waifu.
