Not necessarily would he die from the letter H being stitched into his skin. It'd be painful but not lethal. The Gulag would be much worse....much much worse....just like my pappy described it. Terrible....

Honestly I would ask for him to recomp, as others said, and in return maybe come to a truce about not hanging pony stuff, or find a way to get another roommate. Theres no need to destroy someones stuff because you are mad, drunk or not that's pretty immature and if he knew his friends wouldn't like it why not ask you to take it down/cover it first, BEFORE the heckling, not escalate to that point? Oi. The apology was better steps to say he's not a complete jerk, but not fond of the extremely hostile language factor. If he gets mad like this over a poster, what next? Eesh.

What a jerk. He should have asked you to take it down if it was going to affect his dickhead friends so much.

I don't think it's a big enough deal to report it to the police or the law, personally, just ask him to pay you the amount it cost. If he refuses just tell him you'll call security or something. He probably wouldn't want to get involved with the law because of a poster, so he'll probably pay.
