My first attempt at drawing a pony!

This is my first attempt at drawing a pony. I did this all on my Nexus 7, using the free version of Autodesk's sketchbook for android. Anyway, what do you think? It's obviously not done yet, but I am still working on it.

I think it's very good for you first try. That's a pose of RD right? Also, I would think it would be harder to do on a phone than by hand so good job!

Yeah, I used a picture of RD for reference, I heard that it would look better if I did that. Thanks for the feedback! Also I didn't do it on a phone, the nexus 7 is a tablet. It would be extremely impressive if I did it on a phone.

Well, I colored my pony, added a cutie mark, and did several other fixes. Is there anything else I should add? Should I change anything? Remove anything? Also, any ideas for a name?

I'd say its pretty good expecially being your first attempt, but I don't know how valid my opinion is considering how terrible an artist I am. I tried drawing a pony once.... BLEH it was ugly. The best part was the eyes but they could've been alot better. Everyting else was terrible.

Anyways enough about my disastrous art ability. I think you did quiet a good job the only thing that bothers me a little is the fact that the outline is a bit sketchy looking. I know its not done or anything but that's just me. Again i'm not artist just trying to offer what critque I can.

Still quiet a good piece of art! I like it :D

Yeah, the outline looks a bit bulky, mainly because it was really hard to erase using the touchscreen. I had to use my fingernails for most of the drawing, and they are fairly short. But yeah thanks for the feedback! I will try to slim down the outline a bit.

Haha, those are some great names. In the words of Rainbow Dash, "Now there are too many standouts!" I can't pick a favorite out of them!

Worked on it a bit more, realized that I needed something more. So I edited it a bit. There is now a background! I also cut down on outlines a bit.

Now 20% cooler with background!

Kudos to you, sir.

It's amazing, I like how the style is 'sketchy' heh heh.

Not just like a vector, I do like this, adds to the artistic theme.

Also checked out your profile- How many things to we hold in common? Haha, this is awesome. I love bashing apple also, as I am not satisfied with my ipods... lol. I share all your interests except Lacrosse, sorry, I'm not a lacrosse guy. 3:

Genious.

I was right.

there was nothing wrong with it so it could only be made better.

it all makes sense now :D.

A fine background for a fine pony means the fine has been doubled!!!!!!

excellent job once again!!!

I don't mind tracing, but be sure to eventually do some own poses and draw freehandely in the future and not only post traced pictures :).

>implying that I traced

Lol, while I surely as hell did not freehand this, I did not trace it, except for two shapes for the body and head. I also did trace the bottom of the hoof a bit, so I would know how far I would have to draw. However, I do realize that the art style is fairly unoriginal. Anyways, your reply bothered me so much that I decided to freehand a pony completely today at school. I will have a picture up asap.

Sorry about that, a comment here made me belive that you did. And it was wrong of me to say something without knowing! D:

But i'm glad you're trying a completely freehand pony :). Looking forward to it!

Alright, here it is, I thought that it would be best to post it here, seeing as this is the "second first pony" I have drawn. It isn't close to being done yet, and the tail and mane are mostly placeholders, but I think that it is probably the best looking thing I have ever put on paper.

very well done on the body and nose. Those are hardest things to draw for me!

Good job, and I also loved the colored one the best. You must have put in a lot of time to do this, and it definitively paid off! The only thing I see is that you need to bit a bit more detail into the horn and position the head a bit better. Other than that, it's golden! :) Can't wait to see your other drawings! You should try drawing other ponies as well. I'm sure they'll look just as good!

Really good, you can draw waaay better than me, that's for sure. :P Keep at it, and you can be really good! Your lucky to be able to draw ponies.

Oh! impressive! I really like that you use tubes and circles as guidelines, that's good :)

Keep it up! You really got a talent cosidering this is the second pony you've drawn!
