I don't know about you, but I know that there are horde players just as bad, and the horde in lore haven't really been shown to be the friendliest or noblest, either.

Still not as big douchebags as Alliance.

Seriously, fuck 'em. Especially Night Elves.

What's with the doom and gloom? A new expansion pack?! Count me in!
Well, I dunno about you, but WoD has been pretty bad. I don't play just for lore. I want a good game experience, and a variety of things to keep me interested.

WoD has failed on all grounds. I'll name a few things.

-Confusing and nonsensical story that Blizzard pulled out of their ass. What's sad is that it had awesome potential, too. And after Pulling MoP out of nowhere, too.

-2 raid tiers, 7 dungeons. Not acceptable.

-Lack of end game content/the content that was there was repetitive and boring. No one likes doing the same crappy Apexis dailies.

-Class nerfs and buffs that make zero sense.

-And lastly, not taking player feedback.

Kind of hard to be excited for a new xpac after this flop.

No need to judge a race solely on the players that play them.

Frankly, I am sick to death, resurrection, and again of people applying such blanket negativity to BOTH sides! I would (and have) defended both the Alliance and the Horde from their negative elements as well as each other. It's so disheartening though to see that the players, the outsiders who should recognize their conflict for the tragedy that it is, are perhaps more belligerent and hateful to the other side than the characters themselves are.

pandaren-monk-art-work-wallpapers_35005_

It's for this reason above all the Pandaren feel "right" to me more than any other race. They look at all this animosity, this outright hatred with confusion and sorrow. They are fighters when the time calls for fighting, but seekers of peace.

I'm a WoW guy for certain, but if there is one story element I will complain hasn't gotten enough attention, it's actually trying to resolve the central conflict of the franchise.

Played it.  Stole my life.  Then I was at level 80 or whatever the cap was at the time and I felt bored.  I don't like it when I stop getting experience in RPGs.  Just a mental block I have, I tend to lose motivation if I'm not leveling up.  Now if the quests had paid craploads more gold because of being maxed out level wise, I would have stuck with it.  I started other characters and played and played and maxed again and again, but it started to feel pointless.  Also, too expensive.

Yeah, but you and @Celli are both PvE teddy bears (or panda bear, in your case). Until you hit the real competitive nature of PvP, you'll never understand true faction pride! LOK'TAR OGAR! FOR THE HORDE!

I don't care for PvP because it's boring and I don't get any satisfaction out of it. I like killing big bosses with 24 other people. It feels epic and PvP doesn't feel rewarding. You get Honor Points, get high level gear, and then you PvP more. I like working towards fighting big bosses and it feels like I'm accomplishing something. PvP, you just keep doing the same thing with little variation.

I understand faction pride. I am loyal to the Alliance. From Vanilla, to BC, to now. I am of the Tushui for a reason, but just as in real life, patriotism is love of your country, not hatred of the other. (And I've played the Horde plenty of times as well.)

Second "teddy bears?" Dude, my way of playing the game is not wrong. Nor is yours. What is so wrong about me wishing that people not apply generalities to the other team just because of bad experiences? What happened to not being a sore loser or winner?

Except that Blizzard clearly doesn't care anymore. Ever since Activision bought them, all their best devs left, and they seem to have forgotten how to make the game. and 5.6 Million subscribers is worrying. It's going to keep dropping and I don't think it's going to go back up when the next one drops. Blizzard is losing the trust of their fans, and it shows. I'm going to give them the benefit of the doubt with the next one, but if they screw that up, too, I'm done.

Also, the last two xpacs were failures.

We've had this discussion before. I find it to be frankly impossible that this game has that many people working on it and NONE of them insert passion into it.

Says you, I thought they were a blast. Especially since Mists of Pandaria added my long denied "me" race and class.

Oh, it's a silly PvP community joke, have some levity. PvE is very much easier than PvP, everyone who has done both knows that. Feel free to like what you want, and I'll feel free to complain about Blizzard putting too much time into PvE and absolutely fucking PvPers over by not working on fixing both separately.

That turned into a rant very fast.

Well, you RP mostly, don't you? You wouldn't really notice the lack of care that was put into the game back in The Wrath and TBC days.

Except that Blizzard pulled them out of nowhere, no one asked for them, they have little backstory prior to MoP. Also, the stereotyping was bad. They tried, and failed to cater to the eastern fanbase.

Clearly.

Second of all, it's hard to feel levity when you implied your game form is not only better but after saying,

Still not as big douchebags as Alliance. Seriously, fuck 'em. Especially Night Elves.

So your otherwise playful comment was construed as following up on thinking the Alliance or it's player base as a whole to be morally lacking.

And again, my comment was not as much offense taken as despair that the PvP communities in particular seem to hate the other faction's player base and that spills over into their interpretation of the canon, which gives both a fairer and more frank shake to both sides. When it is my deepest desire that the Alliance and Horde stop fighting and work together.

If we start working together who will be left for me to kill?

Exactly. PvP is removed from the lore, and for good reason. I spent three expansions fretting over the lore, now I just want to bash some Alli skulls, meaning that I want lore and PvE out of my arena games.

Ugh, no they didn't they existed in the canon long before.

no one asked for them,

Oh so I'm no one?

All the better to expand upon that.

Also, the stereotyping was bad.

You mean the fateful and respectful homages to Chinese myth and history as well as removing the Japanese elements that lumped all Asian cultures together?

I would actually agree with you on that. Keep them separate. Although we have our separate realms for them anyway, but improvements always could be made.

Not that I consider you "wrong" but just PvP without context or reason is an alien concept to me. I have no grievance with the Horde or the Alliance, why would I fight them in deliberate military skirmishes? Plus, I'm just not a competitive person by nature. Never got into sports or such, I strive for self mastery.

I like the gameplay, plain and simple. I like the way you have to make smart decisions and think on your feet, reacting in the right way to each move, knowing when to burst and when to CC, it's a beautiful feeling to be able to take down a group of Alli with a well-coordinated strike, whether in the world, in a BG, or in an arena.

But Pandarens never had any more than references and little jokes before. Also, a lot of people hated them.

And? The Goblins were little more than a joke race and they remained a notable presence in the lore with their competition with the Gnomes, love of explosions, and war profiteering.

Samwise made the Pandaren originally as a joke, when he got feedback if they'd be seeing more, he asked "you want a panda race?" The response was a resounding yes.

Between all the fantasy fiction genres WoW pulls from, Wuxia is a welcomed addition and for what little they started with, I am proud of Blizzard for what they gave the Pandaren.

I'm really hoping the next expansion has a compelling and interesting story, along with solid PvP. WoD's story bores me to death. It never interested me. Even while I disliked Cataclysm, the story and PvP at least still kept me in the game.

I have a level 70 Orc warrior.

Just gotta say, I have to thank Blizzard for giving us their version of the Orcs. Mad respect to Tolkien, but I like the actual culture of the Orcs their history, their shamanism, their collective quest of atonement, and need we forget? . . . .

You know, I really hate what they've done to legendaries. Legendaries shouldn't be easy to get, and with last xpac's cloak, and this xpac's ring, they fucked them up.

If everyone has a legendary, no one does. That's pretty much the gist of it. I would love to get Doomhammer, or Gorehowl on my Pally.
