Worst Possible Thing! (Discussion)

I join in to the cupcakes and other gurofic haters in this.

That is THE - WORST - POSSIBLE - THING!

In other words, the show is fine and dandy, but the fandom can produce so vile and stupid content that it is hard to tolerate at times.

What even more so is worth a mention is the fact that there is a whole subsection of the fandom that does and fancies these repulsive and simplistic stories only because they think it is cool and gives them more credibility.

Such immature posturing and reveling in something disgusting only because of shock value is exactly the same shit that has made 4chan a pure shitstain in the face of internet. People one upping each others in stupid and harsh until it all becomes just a big hatefest.

No one forces you to look at it, and since you ignore it why do you CARE? The people who like this kind of stuff are going to have it in their head no matter what, so it'll always exist.

Why do people care: When a social animal like a human, wolf, horse, crow or any other animal that lives in a community needs to rely on the cohesion of their community for survival, proliferation and ability to remain as a functional group they develop a social instinct that helps them to police their own behavior, and since brain that is social also sees other members of the group as extension of self, this social intinct becomes a corrective mechanism that makes individuals impose order and chain of command to their group.

The more complex the hierarchic structure and society of social animal grows, the more complex becomes the need for unity and what is the moral structure of the society. Hence forth animals like crows, chimps and humans begin to control the behavior of others instinctively to make sure that individuals who might function without morals and become a danger to the group are spotted, monitored and controlled to avoid them harming the community.

This is natural and the less a community controls its individuals and leaves it to only few authority organs of the society the stronger and more volatile the harmful behavior becomes as it is allowed to flourish uncontrolled in privacy.

Like a child needs to be corrected when it does wrong, so does individual of adult age needs to be corrected when they become a potential threat.

To avoid such culminations, humans try to police even smaller delinquent behavior and point out what kind of pattern of behavior is unacceptable. It is instinctive and it bothers people who do not submit to such antagonistic lines of thought.

We care in both good and bad! We care if someone is in trouble, and we care is someone is planning to make trouble.

So why do humans care; caring is in our nature. It is a good thing that we care, even if it sometimes is a little intrusive, it is there to care about everyone around us, not just what some individual does with their own time.

Sadly this instinct misfires easily and causes problems like homophobia, xenophobia and racism when some factors that are not harmful get associated with harmful behavior.

Pencils, I absolutely love that, but there is no reason to hate on people who are doing things that do NOT affect the group! It doesn't MATTER if they publish it online or not because they'll DO IT and THINK IT anyway. Simply put, please just ignore it and leave them be. Morals are a touchy subject, but this is the internet. Since no one has gotten hurt over any of this stuff, does it TRULY MATTER?

For clarity: Stop taking everything so seriously you derps, we have 1 life.

I was not really taking it "seriously" or justifying hate, just explaining the biological roots and process behind it. It is human nature. Like all things, when poorly moderated it can lead to bad things just as easy as it could to good things.

As far as my personal opinion goes, I don't like grimdark for reasons I've stated before so no need to repeat it now. And those reasons are not so much the matter of moral concern but a matter of taste and understanding of the human nature.

I wouldn't say that it's the "Worst. Possible. Thing," but what annoys me is that people outside the brony community just dismiss the whole movement by saying things like, "It's just a show, chill out." Personally, I feel My Little Pony has evolved from being "just a show" anymore. I see it as the base for changing people for the better. It inspires people to pursue their interests like music, art, animations, etc. Cartoons like "Adventure Time" or "The Misadventures of Flapjack" are just shows. My Little Pony, I feel, has taken a step up from that.
