Honey Swirl shrunk back, hearing the grey pony yell at Iron Wing. She didn't mean to get her into trouble.. as the angry stallion stomped off she turned to Iron. ''I'm sorry. I should have waited for somepony to help me. You were right to call us thieves.'' She hung her head. ''I had no idea you were so busy. I hope you don't get fired.''

 

She walked dejectedly over to her bed and sat down. The sun was just slipping behind the trees. ''Good night Iron Wing, I'm going to get some rest, I hope you can sort things out with your boss.''

Now Iron Wing was more than just angry, she was disappointed aswell. "Well, have a good night, Honey Swirl..." she nearly whispered. She than turned around to face Benjamin, her expression nearly got mad outlines. Iron resisted the stare of Benjamin and took a step forward to him. "Well, if you insist on firing me than do so, stone-face! I am working here because i volunteered to help. I think you forgott that i am the only worker around here that doesn´t get paid... So if you want me to stop the hard work, i will sit down, relax a bit and see if you can handle all this work by yourself! If i remember correctly, the only staff members left are Le Releau the cook, Nancy the cleaner pony, you and me."

 

The Platinum Woods hotel wasn´t the only project Iron Wing had within her organizer. There were enough tasks, projects and inquiries to keep Iron busy for a long time. She didn´t need this job and probably Benjamin knew that. Iron Wing paused a moment. Then she made up her mind. "You know what Benjamin? Do the work by yourself because I quit. The tin can will leave your hotel tomorrow evening..." she said straight to him starting to walk away. "Maybe you can start with helping the guests that are sleeping within this corridor. Have much fun..." she said as her last sentence of the day while pointing at Jester and Marathon who were sleeping outside their rooms in the middle of the floor, leaving Benjamin alone.

 

She went downstairs to her room. Iron just wanted to get some rest so she closed the door behind her, getting off her heavy armor and the hoove protectors. She also took off the saddlebags and the lifting utilities that she had used for her work in the morning. She was wondering what Benjamin would do. Was he going to do all the work by himself? She couldn´t imagine something like that. Iron Wing got into her bed and nearly instantly fell asleep.

While still asleep he thought he heard yelling. After a while he heard his named mentioned. He quickly woke up and got to his feet. He looked around and noticed he was still not in his room. "Hmm, i thought i made it. Must have passed out." He quietly said to himself. He then noticed Iron wing storming off. "Hey! Is something..." She continued walking without answering. "What ever." He then saw the stallion Jester. He quickly made his way over to him. He nudged him with his hoove "hey buddy, wake up. I think youre about to get into trouble." He quickly looked over his shoulder to find a old stallion, who seemed kind of angry, "I dont think youre going to want to be asleep for this." He said with determination. [Either jester gets up or im getting out of here.] He thought to himself.

Jester woke up and looked at Marathon, then he asked with a drowsy voice "Is the bee gone?", after a minute he came to and saw Benjamin and said "Oh it's the serious looking guy from the reception, hello what are you two doing here and why am I sleeping in the corridor?"

Bell looked around the room to see what hellcat meant. "I-im not sure i understand." She said a little on edge now. She didnt like the thought of something bothering a millitary pony. As far as she was concerned, it probably isnt a good thing. "Do you mind..explaining?" After saying that she thought she heard something and let out another quiet yelp. She looked over to Hellcat for answers.

After being asleep infront of hellcats door for a while, marathon finaly woke up. His vision was blury from just waking up. He could tell he was still tried. He got up, yawned and stretched. He then saw the mare Iron Wing helping somepony with..books? No luggage. He yawned again and decided to go back to his room. About half way there he colapsed on the floor and feel asleep again.

 

Hellcat stood up, and starting to look around the room, before she turned to bluebell, "hmm, this isnt right,* she began sniffing around the floor, before her sensitivity found a draft coming from underneath one of the rugs.

she turned to bluebell, then pulled the rug back revealing a trap door, then blinked, "hmmm, this is interesting." she smiled, "an adventure, finally, "then pulled open the trap door. "want to come with?"

Bell looked down the hole, it was pitch black. "Ar-are you sure you want to go down there? Celestia knows whats down it." She said nervusly. She felt a drift and chills went down her back. "Do you know any light spells? I mean, it dosnt look that safe. Maybe we should tell the armored mare about this instead." She said as she backed away from the hole.

hellcat shook her head, "its night time, she must be asleep, and yeah i know a very bright light spell, we will be fine." hellcat smiled, "if anything happens i can teleport us back up here okay?"

she closed her eyes for a momentas her horn lit up brightly, lighting it up as if celestias sun was lighting the room and the hallway, "you dont have to come if you dont want too bell, but i want to know what the hell is going on down there."

He looked around quickly, "yeah, why are you out here anyways?" He said a bit confused, there was no point he should have been asleep out in the hall way. Now that he thought about it, he was asleep in the hallway as well.

When she saw hellcats light spell she began to fain confidence. "Alright lets go then, you first." She said with a smile. Just then hellcat started to step down the steps of the trap door and she sliped. Bell ran to the edge of the hole and screamed hellcats name. After a few seconds hellcats body stoped rolling down the steps and the light on her horn went out. "....shes..dead." Bell said with surprise writen on her face. She then turned and found Hellcat still standing next to the edge of the hole. "Wha- but how..you were.....i dont understand. You just sliped and fell how you still...here?" She frantacly said. [oh no, im going insane] she thought to herself as she tried to figure out what just happened.

Jester stood up and said "There was a bee in my room and I was waiting for it too leave since that guy didn't believe that it existed, now that I think about it I may have described it as something unbelievable out of panic." Jester stopped and breathed for a second before asking "What are you two doing here? "

hellcat blinked "i fell...." she shook her head and smiled moving down the steps, "nahh, i dont think im that...." she slipped off the 4th step and started tumbleing down each and every step, "CLUMSY!" she managed to yell before she hit the bottom of the stairs.

she lay there for a few moments, her horn going out as she tested each appendage making sure they worked before slowly trying to stand up.

the shock of falling down all those steps though made it so her legs were too wobbly, so all she could do was right herself and lay down.

Benjamin stayed silent, swallowing Iron Wing's complaints. To keep shouting and arguing like that wasn't much like him - neither it was for the armored mare, as far as he knew. Perhaps all the exhausting work and the worry towards the hauntings were pestering too much nerves on both sides.

 

"You know what Benjamin? Do the work by yourself because I quit. The tin can will leave your hotel tomorrow evening..." she said straight to him starting to walk away. "Maybe you can start with helping the guests that are sleeping within this corridor. Have much fun..."

 

He just stared at Iron Wing as she went back downstairs, not sure what to say. While his ego assured that he would be able to handle things by himself, a couple of feelings suddenly struck Benjamin's withering heart. Was it worry? Was it regret? Was it loneliness? Nothing made much sense. It all happened so fast. In between all that tumult, the only feeling he could really feel was, clearly, hate.

 

Benjamin only sighed, glancing at the two ponies lying on the floor. He trotted slowly towards said ponies, rose his snout up in the air and stuffed up his chest.

 

"Go back to your rooms." He said, shortly, as he walked past the guests and went back downstairs. Perhaps he didn't have much aptness to deal with those tasks after all. But now that the nighttime had arrived, things would most likely get all messy anyway. Hopefully not, though.

When she watched Hellcat slip and fall for real this time, Bell went into complete panic. "What do i do, what do i do?" She looked around the room for anything that could produce light. On a table next to her bed she found a flashlight. She turned it on and rushed down to Hellcat. When she got there she made sure she was breathing. Bell gave a sigh of relief when she heard Hellcats slow and rythmic breath. She leaned close to Hellcats ear and whispered. "Hey, are you ok? Just stay still and dont move. I need to make sure nothing broke on your way down." She said calmly as her medical instincts kicked in.

Marathon took in what jester said. He finaly decided to answer his question, "Well when i was on my way to my room my body decided the floor was good enough. So i colapsed and fell asleep." He said and then yawned. "So...youre afraid of bees? Why is that, im sure they havent done anything to you." He said jokingly. He then gave jester a smile. "Come on, lets go down to the lobby. I kind of want to sit by the fire they've got down there." He began to stroll to the stairs, and yawned loudly.

Jester followed Marathon down the stairs to the lobby and said "The fire does sound nice, and it's probably better than in there with the bee and the fire does sound nice, plus the chairs there sound comfy."

Jester smiled at the idea of the fire and the chairs.

Iron Wing was sleeping and resting from the hard working day. Slowly she restored her power to a normal level. It would take a while since she was very exhausted to manage the guest rooms and stuff. Especially some of the work in the morning was hard because she had to lift very big weights. Benjamin wanted good beds for the guests in every room so she had to lift the huge things from the ground floor to the second. It was a hard work but it was fine since Benjamin had a very good taste for the furniture and decor. With Benjamins management the old castle turned into a very unique and exquisite hotel. The next day she had the task to start the restoration of the 3rth Floor and the balcony.

 

Iron Wing was dreaming of the work that would come and liked it. She loved her job to build up everything and to make ponies feel happy with all the things she had build. Sometimes her work was better than the original so she was very proud of her own skills. But in her dream something wasn´t right. She heard some noises from the basement and the dungeon. What could it be? Within her dream she started to go down to the basement, along the dark and gloomy corridor into the dungeon of the castle. Nopony had been here for years and some of the workers got scared just because of some feelings. Iron Wing knew some of the old floors of the basement but she never thought scary about it. But in her dream something was wrong.

 

The light within the corridor was not the same, so it created shadows on the wall that seemed to move. It was a spooky sight. She got deeper into the maze of rooms and hallways just to find a hall that was filled with water. The room looked like some of the rainwater was coming down here gathering to a a big and long puddle. The light of the candles had a green shine because of the moss on the walls. It reflected on the water, making the appearance of the puddle unearthly. Some unnatural sounds were heared from the other side of the room. Was there a pony? Iron Wing stepped into the puddle to reach the other side of the room. But she got stuck! The water climbed up her body and she feeled like pulled down underwater! She tried to scream for help, but it was too late. She sunk deeper and deeper within the water. She figured it wasn´t a puddle at all, but now nopony could hear her drowning within the basement...

 

Then she woke up! She had fallen out of her bed and with the face on the ground. Slowly she got up and rubbed her nose. "Ouch! What a strange dream... I should check it out!" she said to herself, putting on her armor again. She hadn´t slept for a long time since she left Benjamin upstairs. It was about 3 hours ago, but the adrenalin from the dream made her awake. She also put on her hoove protectors and left her room. She went into the entrance hall to the stairs, taking a candle with her to have some light. She wasn´t afraid of some dreams but she wanted to make sure that there was no mystic puddle somepony could drown in. She didn´t notice if anypony was on the reception or if anypony had seen her. She just went downstairs into the basement...

As he and jester made it down to the lobby,Marathon noticed Iron wing. He looked over to jester and said with a commanding voice, "You stay here, im gana see what up with her. She looks dertermined." He then quickly but quietly folowed the mare. He saw her go through a door and questioned wether he should continue. He decided after a second or two to continue. When he went in he noticed stairs going down. He saw that Iron Wing wasnt far ahead and decided to call out to her, "Hey, Iron wing." He quickly came up with a lie to tell her if she got to agressive with him.

Hellcat winced, and re lit her horn to give bell more light "its fine....i-i just need a few minuites to rest" she laid her head down, "damnit, im usually more careful than that." she whimpered "i think i hurt something," she said as she tried to move one of her legs, but it spasamed. nng"

Iron Wing was on her way into the dungeon of the castle as she heared a voice calling her name. She turned around and saw Marathon standing on the top of the stairway. What got his mind? Did he need something? Iron didn´t know so she decided to just ask him. "Greetings to you Mr Marathon. What can i do for you? Is there something you need?" she asked him kindly. After all, Marathon was a guest of the hotel. Of course she did quit her job some hours ago but she was the kind of pony that wouldn´t get Benjamin into embarrassment. So she pretended to be a staff member just like that. "If there is anything you need just let me know." she stated to Marathon and waited for his response.

When Hellcat used the spell to make her lighter, Bell gave a sigh of relive. "Thanks, that helps alot." she said as she quickly made her way up the stairs. When she got to the top, Bell carefully laided down Hellcat on her bed. "OK, this time, dont move. Youre more hurt than you think you are, probobly more than i think as well." she said getting her meidcal stuff from her saddle bags. "Does your chest hurt, and wich side?" she asked walking over to her friends side.

 

hellcat groaned, and pointed to the center of her chest, "probibly broke..." she coughed "a rib or something." she shook her head, "wish....i knew healing magic,," she coughed up a bit of blood again "but that was always my oldest brothers specialty, i tried it once..." she smiled through the pain. "didnt turn out so well, ended up making ALL the bones dissappear in my leg." she used her magic to bring over a pillow and laid her head down "i dont think ive ever broken a rib before

Jester was getting tired of waiting for Marathon since there is only so much you can do with nothing at all.

He started to wander where Marathon had gone, he was tempted to go see but Marathon told him not to leave and he didn't want to make him upset since they were getting along so well.

He made his way to the party-room.

 

"It's a bit loud for to my liking..." he said, as he turned around and started walking back down to the lobby.

 

"It might be a little warm down there due to the fireplace, but at least the atmosphere's probably better down there..." he said to himself, as he started to slowly glide down the stairs.
