Apple Bloom's Annual Pumpkin Carvings

Apple Bloom

Recommended Posts

It's that time of year again everypony. What time is that, you ask? Nightmare Night, or as humans call it, Halloween. That means it's time for pumpkin carving and of course if I carve a pumpkin it's going to have something to do with ponies. So here you go, my first pumpkin carving this year.

This one was a practice run before carving a larger pumpkin so my next one will be much better. (I hope)

It looks really cool. I was looking at some other things you could cut in the pumpkins some days ago but I suck at cutting those and well almost no one celebrates Halloween anymore in my town anyways so I haven't even bought a Pumpkin :/

Wish I could try my hand at it, but Pumpkins are ridiculously expensive where I live. It's like $5 for a tiny one and on up to $8-10 for a bigger one. You would think produce would be cheap in Iowa.

Here's my second one. I entered both pumpkins in a contest on Reddit. The deadline for submissions was today (November 1) and I didn't start on this one until yesterday so I worked all day on it and I still didn't really finish. If I had more time I would have carved the skin a little deeper so you could see the facial features a little better and to make it match the horn. Also, I forgot a piece of the cloud on the left side, but overall I think it turned out okay. I used X-Acto knives for most everything except the reflections in the eyes and the sparkles, which I poked out with toothpicks.
