I have decided to run this as a beta test for my tablet (had it for a while and decided its about time I do something with it. Enjoy:

 

1. Dropkick Murphys, Hang 'em High: The lyrics are mostly about cannons, so yeah, royal cannoners

2. KISS, I was made for loving You: Pretty self explanatory Should have thought about having Spike stick out his tounge

3.Apocalyptica Somewhere around nothing: Should have had a lot of moondust whirling around, but I ran out of time

4. Hammerfall, At the End of the Rainbow: Should have had the Mane Six standing in hero-wind but not enough time so only Twilight and hald molten Trixie

5. Saint Daemon, The Brave never bleeds: Ser Spike charging in to save a fair lady. No time for a cape :/

6.Alestorm, The Quest: It's the worlds best Scottish-Pirate-Metal band singing about being a pirate, only one choice. Also remembered to sample a darker colour again to avoid fading out.

7.Die Ärzte Saufen (~boozing): It's a song about getting drunk and singing about being drunk. Again should have been more characters.

8.Frank Sinatra, LA is my Lady: MLP's coolest hat is back. Should have had a glass in right hand.

9.Danny Elfman, Finale (NbC): To this day my favourite movie-kiss. Less than halfway-finished because I had to start over after a minute.

10. Amon Amarth, The Hero: I've been meaning to make a Zabuza AMV for this forever because it's so damn fitting (and Naruto did not suck back then). Anyway, it's Gilda fighting to the death to protect the helpless.

This will be an additional thread to my "Handrawn" and soon to be seperated "Humanized" art threads. Expect hilariously bad drawings to ensue.Also here are some first doodles of my OCs:

 

 

Also my first try at colouring with Photoshop for my next PMV (since I'm running out of black pencils).

Took me way longer than it should have, eager for your opinions.

Looking pretty good for your first time using a tablet! What tablet are you using and what program do you primarily use?

 

I particularly enjoy the colored picture you did. You did a good job with the colors, especially giving the character the effect of being inside (what I'm thinking is an egg?).

 

My biggest advice is to just keep practicing to get smoother lines. I know it's really hard and it takes tons and tons of hours to start getting the lines straight. Another great tool is PaintTool Sai. They have a tool on there that helps you create smooth lines! It's been a huge lifesaver for me.

This sub-section of the forums really does not get much traffic, and the only people that really come back are the ones that post here, unfortunately. This deserves more views, and comments. I really like it, great style. Great everything really. Keep it up mate!

Superb sketches, characterful and from the song descriptions they seem fitting. I like the pirate one for song 6, is that supposed to be Pipsquek? Fascinating pic of Chrysalis, you've got a better sense of coloring than I do.

Wow thats pretty amazing!! I was thinking of getting a tablet any ideas what would be a good one to get?? thing is I dont really want to spend loads, I found a wacom bamboo on amazon for like £49 but I dont if it would be any good?

Well, it does say Arcus graphic table XL, using photoshop , sometimes Illustrator for vectors.

It was supposed to be a cocoon, it somehow ended up looking like a bunch of stacked melon halves

I use a bamboo and they are really good.  You really don't need an expensive tablet to be able to draw amazing art on the computer.

Very nice!  You're improving super fast with the tablet.  Sadly I don't get it.  -_- Also, I think in the second to last panel there might be a spelling error?  Is "ust" supposed to be "must"??

 

All in all, it's good.  You have good back and forth dialogue as well.

#1 "Kaperfahrt" be Die Ärzte. Its basically about how all tough sailors must have a beard. And its a drinking song.

#2 "The ballad of the three kings" by Leslie Fish: A song about three kings entering the afterlife

#3 "Lullaby for a dragon" by Tom Smith. A really sweet lullaby. Also the inspiration for one of my OCs.

#4 "Freeze Ray" by Neil Patrick Harris I guess. That monstrosity on the right is supposed to be RD, time ran out.

#5 "Take the black" by Hammerfall. Like many power metal songs bot really about something in particular. The main theme is battle and insanity, so here's Pinkamena as an Eldar Harlequin.

#6 "Bad, bad Leroy Brown" cover by Frank Sinatra. Well Big Mac is really the only one who fits the bill.

#7 "Jimmy Collin's Cup" by the Dropkick Murphys, Its about a wake, so RD is dead.

#8 "Mad Mares" by Feather. A  really good mlp cover of Mad World about Pinkie and her copies.

#9 "I'm too Sexy" by Right Said Fred. This did not turn out well

#10 "The King of Transylvania" by Cryonic Temple. Its about Dracula, Sombra seemed like a good fit.

I had a feeling you'd go digital eventually. Everything looks awesome. I remember that picture of Muspel you made digitally ages ago now (I've been away from the site too long lol) just to show me her colours. Good stuff.

Its not so much a "going" as it is a desperately trying to justify spending money on a tablet.

Well, being in a cocoon does kinda neutralise the need for a umbilical cord, doesn't it?

Also, this was gonna be the son of Chrysalis (and Shining Armor) for a PMV, but I shelved it until my skills are up to the task.
