Tales of a Millennium Entry I

Valley of the Blaze Garden

It is almost impossible to track down through the immemorial times the origin of the dragon kin. No soul has been around the living for enough time to remember the place where the first breath of fire was taken.  The secrets of their provenance most likely stay hidden behind their hard scales and sharp claws, but there were witnesses of a place they would call home for more than anyone can recall. A land that counts between its sons the hatching of entire generations of the flying reptilians, who enjoyed, plowed and protected this as their home land. Its name was lost with the wisdom of the dragons after the seed bloom but the outsiders of those distant times gave it the name “Valley of the Blaze Garden”.

Very few eyes others than the dragons themselves were able to witness the fabled beauty of the valley, and the tales of those who did were so distant from the reality that most of them were just taken as demented dreams. Nevertheless those who set their eyes on that wonderful landscape knew that the surreal tales they spoken of were almost impossible to believe and in time one by one surrender their ideal to make others believe and retired just to enjoy those memories.

And no one could ever accuse of those who believe the Valley was only an oniric fantasy. The stories of the Blaze Garden visitors tell us of a valley as big as hundred leagues dyed by a red, soft and warm ground that bloomed the most beautiful flowers and brush for them to enjoy, specimens that are lost to our days so unique that were considered treasures of immense value among the outsiders. Color and life were brimming with flashes of light that came from the open skies of top of them as the clouds bathe the garden with dew from the heavens.

The plains were covered by emerald like grass that shined and grow through the forests as well, those were fertile grounds to be blessed with the legendary inhabitants of the valley who also rejoiced all around its lakes of crystal clear water. These fountains were intertwined with a system of rivers that flowed over and under the land which provided the valley with the essential livelihood and also hosted the life of underwater beings that have not been seen since.

As far as the eye could see the Blaze flower would cover the land with its amazing bloom.  The Blaze flower was one of the biggest treasures of the dragon kind. Blooming on all the colors a flame can take and when seen from afar and moved by the wind the thousands of Blaze flowers would look like a dazzling fire dancing through the land. Spectacle that gave its name to this legendary now forsaken land.

The hours of dark gave the garden a new wear made of mysticisms and views filled with wonders. Half of its life used to brim during the times of the moon and with its silver light the garden’s nocturnal beauty would rose and fell each night. Flowers bloomed with the path of the Silver Star reaching its full beauty as her celestial queen reached her throne as days passed on new ones. Some of this sprouts used to grew crystal like petals that reflected with sparkles the arch of heaven lights creating choreography of sparks that enchanted fire breather’s dreams for generations with its beauty.

The valley was surrounded by seven colossal fang-like peaks that could be seen from afar looking as the crown of the world. Those peaks rose over the land decorated by emerald green forests that grew over their slopes as vines grow on our walls. Those forest were overflowing with different kinds of creatures that soared the land and sky with the dragons, dyed with amazing colors that mixed with the natural fuchsia flowers that crowned the trees over the peaks, fabled to were born and flourish from the dragons blood infused on the soil.

For all the seven peaks of the valley dozens of waterfalls covered with spray the nearby ravines and created endless rainbows that feasted the eyes and saturated the dreams of the dragon kin for their time there, but the mystic beauty of the peaks will be shown only at night for those waterfalls shined with the bright of the moon and stars creating silver light bows that show the way home to the dragons afar and painted the forest on the peaks with a clear blue color that would last until the next daybreak. Till now as this words are written, no one has ever explained how that water flow to such height against the natural ways and why it could create such a heavenly light, some may say that it was the natural magic brought by the dragons but the truth is yet to be discovered.

The fang peaks were much more than a natural miracle and home for thousands of those winged and fabled creatures. On the biggest of them, the one that raised exactly pointing to the west, the Dragons stored all their history, wisdom, and knowledge in the halls of scrolls, never ending corridors that store the hand-written records of their kind that could only be read by a handful of Dragons. For us is impossible to imagine the wonders recorded on those long lost documents, the cure for illness, the secrets of harmony, the undisclosed manipulation dream into life arejust wild bets of what once was written by the claws of fire.

This otherworldly land watched as the dragon kin grew to be a powerful and wise race, join them in their celebrations and births, saw them as they refined the arts and magic of the world, many believe it become attached to the souls of its inhabitants until that same glory, the dragon kin dedicated to create, lead to the seed and the decay of this once dreamlike creatures.  The forsaken memory of what once was just lies in the remembrances of a fistful of beings, wise and powerful creatures that value them as unique mementos of the once remarkable glory of the Dragons and the land that saw them become and be gone.

Fond of its sons and daughters The Valley of the Blaze Garden wither to a land of solitude that have turned this once magical place to a waste land unable to hold testimony of the life it once hold. A place which shows the world nothing more than a reflection of the consequences that the seed bloom brought to the dragon kin.

Awesome work, bro. Very descriptive, and you seem to have a mastery of the almost wistful style of writing about ancient myths and legends.

The last paragraph, and the "But that is indeed a different tale" seemed like it was foreshadowing something...like the dragons 'falling' as a race into the kind of creatures we see in the show. Are you planning to continue this particular story, or is this it?
