searching The Artifacts of Harmony

[That One Techpriest You Used To Know 2,286]

Equestria has been in harmony for a year after the changeling attack, and all is peaceful...

But an unknown swordsman has been attacking various locations across the land. He always comes in the night, and he is always looking for the same things, four artifacts that, when put together, form the most powerful weapon in history- the Delta Sword.

When Twilight's library is ransacked in the middle of the night, a group of ponies decide to go after this mysterious warrior, and to prevent him from obtaining the artifact, for who knows what he will do with it...

 

Welcome to The Artifacts of Harmony RP! Now, we go over the rules...

 

1. No godmodding, unless, of course, you run it by me and the godmodded player approves.

 

2. Sorry, guys, but I'm only allowing MAX one alicorn. Better than none. And they are served on a first come, first served basis.

 

3. No Mary Sue character. They make the game no fun.

 

4. If you guys point out any other rules that come up, I will gladly add them.

 

5. Yes, I am allowing the canon characters- but please nothing stupid (Derpy or the CMCs)

 

6. The Princesses cannot be played.

 

7. If you ask, I will allow other villians, but I want at least four other hero roleplayers first.

1) If you choose to join, accepted.

 

2) Where it will take them? City landscapes, more specifically, Manehattan and Fillydelphia, maybe something in Canterlot. But I plan to start and end in the same place- Ponyville.

 

3) I have planned this out pretty well, but I'm not telling you the details yet... but I have a question for my RPers. Do you want this to be a D&D type game (What do you do?) or do you want it to be more natural.

What I mean by that is that in a D&D style roleplay, it's... hmm...

OK. What that means is, I am the GOD (AKA the DM). I control everything else that isn't you, and you ask me what you see, what non players do, or what... you get it. It basically smacks personal creativity in the face, to put it nicely.

 

That's what the difference between a natural game (I still am the NPCs, but you get more creativity, for I am not GOD) and a D&D game.

Mind if I join in? My own ponysona shall serve as my in-game avatar. He's simply a pegasus from Canterlot and a paid apprentice to a master Reneighssance man. (If anypony would be the Mary Sue in my situation, it's him not me!) Fittingly enough, he/I is/am also a swordsman. (Though I don't have much skill in dual-wielding. That's much more practical when both of the limbs you hold your weapons with are strong enough to lift your own weight and already vaguely blade shaped.)

The brains to my brawn! Not that I mean to imply you are weak or that I'm stupid. Your lab coat just inspires an image of being technically minded. Whereas my expertise is in prose and cultural insight. That and I'm a swordsman which makes sense if we are hunting somepony who also uses a sword as their weapon of choice. I look forward to this harrowing venture.

F.Y.I. "Master Swordpony" is an actual title and rank granted by the Princesses. (It's from a fanfic, a pretty good one to. http://www.fimfiction.net/story/2331/swordpony) The story takes place in Medieval Equestria and the absence of any true conflict since Nightmare Moon and until the Changeling's invasion of Canterlot has presumably made the title obsolete.

 

Still, with a story revolving around a mysterious sword fighter hell bent on retrieving the Equestrian equivalent of Soul Edge; it would be interesting if the title or it's long dead bearer, Red Pommel, were given lip service at the least.

 

Just an idea.
