The rager and the troller

So I don't know if anyone has seen youtube videos by two best friends play or two guys one game but they are just friends playing games together with hilarious results. So it got me thinking, my friend and I always do similar stuff and we screw around and stuff in multiplayer. So what I was thinking was that we start our own channel similar to the videos I described before as our lets plays.

 

But what I realised was that we need something original to draw people in, so I thought we should show our multiplayer shenanigans which entails us just talking about crap and raging at games such as halo 4 or blops 2 or ac3. I was thinking of starting our first video next year but I was wondering if I could ask you guys this.

 

Is my idea original enough and how would I draw more people in?

 

Our channel is called rager and troller because that is what our lets plays will be called and because my friend is a dirty troll and I am lets say a bit too aggressive when it comes to video games

It sounds like it could be very entertaining, I have seen videos containing just trolls or just ragers but never both.

 

As for drawing in people to watch your videos, it is kinda difficult. YouTube can be a brutal place.

The best way to get attention is to get yourself known, let people know your channel is out there. (Its alot harder then it sounds)

 

 

I have to ask, how serious are you about doing this?

I don't watch a lot of LPs, so I don really know how well a purely multiplayer one would go, especially when you're limited to trolling and raging (although an awful lot of that, especially the latter, goes on in MP), but if done right, I think it could go well.

Anyway, the biggest advice I can give is not to try and force humor, or anything else, really. Forced overreaction is seldom funny.

 

Also, "troller" isn't a term. Someone who trolls is just a "troll". "Rager and the Troll" flows off the tounge more easily, too.

Nah it hasn't been discouraging, I was asking for feedback and you gave it. If you want proof of how dedicated I am, then I'll say that I am spending $2500 at minimum on mics, hd pvrs, and high quality computer specs for good videos.

 

I have noticed that the you tubers who manage to release videos on the newest games receive more views because people want to see the game before they get it.

Thanks for the advice, I have heard and seen people who try too hard and the viewers notice it and crack down on it.

 

That's something I'll make sure that I'll do, I'll just be myself

 

I personally wouldn't want to watch people talking trash on online games, but I suppose there's appeal to everything. While it's true that it's best to have something original to your channel, you can still go for a more traditional approach and do well.

 

We don't really talk trash as in insults to people, if anything we notice how good people are and we talk about mistakes people make. And I was thinking of making the lets plays as the traditional campaign play throughs.
