"Fluttershy talks about me a lot?" Dash tried to act like she wasn't surprised. After all, she's like a role model to Fluttershy. But still, Dash thought she'd talk more about her animals or even Pinkie Pie more than she apparently talked about her. "I.. I mean, yeah, why wouldn't she?"

 

She felt a slight blush creep onto her cheeks as he commented about breaking the sound barrier. "I.. uh.. what would make you think I'm worried about it? I'm Rainbow Dash after all, what do I have to be worried about..?"

Draco winced as he felt his wing cramp up. Draco flew up above the clouds slowly climbing but it was also killing his speed. He wasn't as aerodynamic as the mares but he made up for it with his spirit and his stubborn personality which he must have gotten from his father.

Electro dash was late, again! It felt to her like she could never just show up on time. Of course, she just had to hurt her wing! She just had to have been stopped for flying over private property, and she just HAD to help that dammed yellow pegasus get ducks to a pond! She pondered to herself why she just couldn't have ignored those unicorns as she flew over their house But her day would change eventually. By meeting the wonderbolts! she still couldn't hold her exitment as she flew up to the gates, handed spitfire the letter, and walked in. There had appeared to be a race going on, which she missed ad usual. Electro decided to talk, she went up to a colt who was talking to rainbow dash. "Hey, im not late am I?"

"But don't you want to keep your bits? And all those diamonds?" Esme asked, pushing harder. It was hard work, but she could feel the air tunneling around her, slowly forming a pyramid shape. "This is it, this is my very first sonic rainboom!"

Dash simply lightheartedly laughed, trying not to act nervous. But something felt... diferent with this colt. Like she could open up to him. She sighed and then said, "Fine, I guess I am a little nervous. Don't tell anypony I said that, all right?" Then, a mare walked over to Star Keeper and asked if she was late. "Not really, you can't compete in the first race now though."

Cloud whipped past whoever was in front of her, pulling into first as she rounded the cabin. She could feel the wind tangling her mane and tail further. * I DEFINITELY need to brush my mane and tail after this... Ugh. * Cloud decided not to attempt a Sonic Rainboom, mostly because if she failed she would bump back to last.

She couldn't break the sound barrier, so she just bounced back. Esme's gonna get to her place in the race WITH the force. Get it? Ponies don't just teleport to their rightful positions as soon as the dice are rolled.))

Electro Dash turned to rainbow dash, "I missed the race? damm it!" She mumbled under her Breath, "damm you yellow pony and your yellow ducks." She turned back to rainbow dash, "anyway, how come your not in the race? I would think that the greatest flyer in equestria would show off her moves?"

Scamps rounded the bend on the cabin, starting towarda the finish line. Unfortunately, she lost her lead while turning, as Ace and Cloud passed her. "Dang it!" She muttered. She could feel herself reaching her maximum wingpower:10.3. She didn't fly competively a lot, so her wings hadn't gone through speed training like some of the ponies here. But she didn't want the others to see that disadvantage.

Ace finnaly caught up he didn't say anything he barly even thought anything he was afried that if he lossese focus he may risk being behind, even though he could feel his wings tireing he never flew this fast before. He was afried that he'll be to tired to train.

Rainbow had to smile at the compliment Electro Dash had given her. "Well, you see, I kinda..." Hold on, Dash, what are you saying? She admires you! There's no way in Equestria she can know you got here late! "...I wanted to check out the competition, y'know? See who here is worthy of being my rival."

Electro dash looked at Rainbow Dash. "oh really? well then," She pointed to the race, "Who do you think is the biggest competition, to match the "awsomeness" of Rainbow Dash." She quoted the Awsomness with her hooves.

Rainbow had to smirk when the mare did her signature 'awesomeness' with her hooves. Looks like there is at least one pony here who appreciates and understands her greatness. "For this race, I bet on Cloud Puff. She's got that determined yet sensible thing goin' for her."

Cloud was obviously at least .4 over her last wing power flight.... *I must be going at least 11.5!* she thought excitedly to herself as she got to about three quarters of the way there.

'12.3? At some point I'm going to have to examine these ponies to make sure they aren't having us on. Possibly with something more accurate than a propeller that's effected by its environment, therefore offering inaccurate results. Whoa, I'm getting carried away again.'

 

"You do realize that racing is not all about power. There is so much skill that goes into flying that it takes constant adjustment and careful adaption to keep at a good speed." Star Keeper knew that he shouldn't have spoken, but this was something he'd studied. By all rights he should be teaching them. Well, a least that's how he saw it.

"Nope, not when you grow up with four older brothers!" Cloud called back. *Come on now, is that it Cloud? Push harder, you can beat him!* Cloud thought to herself. It's was then that she realized this was the fastest she had ever flown, and it felt GREAT. *just a little faster......*

Scamps began to push herself to her limit, but she was still in third. "Man, they're fast," she mumbled. She kept trying to get the lead back, hoping she would be able to catch up to Ace and Storm eventually. "I'm going to win this! I have to!" She yelled at herself.

"Electro Dash turned to the colt," well i cant exactly bluff about myself by using all that now can I" She asked him sarcasticly. "oh my windpower is 12.3 and i can adgust this feather to keep an angle of this with this strength winds. That just doesn't make sense!"

Yavolin heard rainbow dash nearby so he decided to go talk to her, but he couldn't race not yet anyway he would race her alone with no pony nearby to witness the race and he didn't want any pony to know that he lied to them about a sore wing he couldn't allow himself be sent home because of his bad wing.

Draco pulled ahead of Esme and Scamps quickly thanks to a thermal that he spoted. "I'm in third place still not bad but I can do better" Draco said to himself as the thermal had done more for him than made him rise. It also increased his speed but he still needed that extra oomph.

Esme sped up a little more, and BOOM! the force from the sound barrier bounced her all the way back to the end. "Crap! I couldn't do it!" she said. "Now I'll have to go all the way back up to the front. Why did I attempt the sonic rainboom when I knew that Rainbow Dash was the only one that could do it? Aaaargh!"
