"This is going to sound really stupid, but..." she sighed. "I...wad jealous of the unicorns. So, I went to Twilight Sparkle to see if she could give me a horn or something, but instead she gave me a book of mabic tricks. And I've been doing magic ever since."

 

Scamps' gaze wandered over to the group of ponies testing their wing power. 'They're going pretty fast,' she thought. 'Maybe I should test mine...'

 

She then noticed Draco in the group, and she tried not to show how annoyed she was. Draco was probably seeing her talk with Ace now...

 

'I'll get him back...' she thouht. 'Soon...'

"Don't worry I don't think you getting jealous of the unicorns is stupid, in my opinon anypony can do magic no matter what type they are it just takes is the slight of hoof, your parents must be proud." Ace tried not to sound dissaponted when he said parents.

Draco opened his large wings "Because of my large wings I'll have to start off slow then I'll speed up" Draco said as he put opn his goggles. He flew into the air then flew by the meter quickly. Draco landed slowly as he looked at the meter"Huh look at that 12.50 . Surprising really I'm actually surprised I thought I would have stayed at 12.33"

"Gosh, you guys are making me feel slow- ALREADY." Cloud mumbled. She looked over at Star Keeper, who looked like he was having some kind of argument with himself, as his facial expression kept changing slightly.

'That pony has an naturally large set of wings. Makes him stick out like a sore thumb when he extends them.'

 

'Aside from that, how was his performance?'

 

'Meh, all he has is power, no composure or real sign of technique, just brunt force. It's not a surprise to me, those large wings , very difficult to maneuver.'

 

'Understandable. So, will he be any competition you think? He seems to have what it takes.'

 

'Only in the sprints, around bends and tight corners you'll have him. That and you can use the currents to your advantage while he fights it. Sure victory.'

 

'But what's my wing power?'

 

'Only one way to find out.'

Yavolin saw cloud and went over to her."Hy, you did alright". But Yavolin feared Draco he knew he would have to get better and faster the hole time he is here just to get dash attention he remembered her motto."Give it at least an 100%". Yavolin then decided he didn't care how bad his bad wing would feel he would do his best to get faster.

"Thanks, but you guys showed me up. I know I can get better." Cloud said. She smiled at Yavolin, but she just didn't know why. *Wow, why am I suddenly so thirsty?* she thought to herself.

Star Keeper got up from his seat and flew over to the starting position. If he was going to do this now he was going to do this right. He stretched his wings and his legs and prepared for take off. Within a second he was off, putting full power into his wings. He came up to the recorder, picking up the pace more than he ever had. As he rocketed past it the propeller turned from the resulting fly by.

 

Feeling very confident, Star Landed next to the dial and read his results. "I think you will find that it was more than satisfactory." Then he stood back in shock. The numbers didn't lie, his result was completely indisputable. "9.7. 9.7! Bugger!"

Esme walked into her new dorm, setting down her things. She took one look around the room, and immediately decided it fit for living. "Huh, I guess my roommate's not here yet. Oh, well. Wait a minute, is that a wonderbolt's uniform? For me?" The blue pegasus crept up to the corner where the garment hung, and took it off the hanger. "You bet your flank I'll wear this!" she exclaimed as she slipped it on. "Now, then, what to do, where to go..." Esme heard the laughter and general chatter coming in the direction of the wingpower room, and headed towards it. "Well, at least I know where the others are." The blue pony stepped into the room, took a deep breath, and cleared her throat to make herself known. "Stand back, everypony. Here comes Miss Second Place."

"Don't get cocky Esme I won because I used a tornado to help my speed in the race. Plus I think your being alittle arrogant. Sometimes you need to take it slow like I do when I am on a delivery," Draco said as he looked at the young mare. They seems young to him but he is an adult pony well besides Rainbow Dash who was also an adult.

Scamps sighed as Ace brought up parents. "My parents...don't really approve of my magic," she replied. She didn't include the whole being kicked out of her house part. She figured he didn't need to know...yet.

 

She then noticed that almost everypony was using the wingpower machine. "Come on, let's see what our wingpowers our!" She said as she flew over. "I'll go first," she called back to him. She stretched her wings out and got into posistion, looking at her average sized wings. She had no idea what advantage she might have over the others. She got in posistion to start, and then flewnpast the machine.

 

She krept up, almost afraid to look. She had tried her hardest, even harder than in the race. 'That has to be fastest I'd ever gone...but I bet it isn't even a 12.' She thought.

 

She krept up to the machine, and she couldn't believe her eyes as she read the number. "13.21?" She couldn't believe it. She started to chuckle. "I....I got a 13.21! That's my best...ever!" She flew over to Ace, overly excited about her number. "Go on, Ace. It's your turn. Let's see if you can beat me." She said, smiling at him.

Draco smiled at the young pegasus "Good job Scamps be proud of your self that you got the highest wing power but I wouldn't be surprised really. Because the female pegasi are more streamlined than males are we have alot more muscule to deal with than you ladies" Draco explained.

Now extremely embarrassed and flustered, because everypony else had a higher wing power, Cloud flew out of the room with her twelve point three wingpower and went to her and Yavolins' dorm. She quietly shut the door behind her and sat on her bed. "How is it that I beat Windy in the race, but her wing power is way higher?" She whispered to herself.

"Actually, if you want to know the answer to that, Windy had enough momentum acting against her which she managed to expend as wing power adding to her overall result. In other words she managed to get a powerful start which carried on to give her a high reading. In a race situation that would mean a good start but lagging behind as it progressed. While that much is true, at least you were faster than my measly 9.7." Star saw how she had reacted to Windy's results and was doing his best to explain the circumstances, which didn't seem to help. Maybe coming over here wasn't such a brilliant idea. Oh well, no turning back now.

Electro Dash was bored already of the meain dorm area. becasue evrypony was somewhere else. "well," she said aloud, "time to try out my wingpower!"

She got up from the couch, and walked back into her room to change into the wonderbolts costume *If im going to test my wing power, i best do it legit.* She went outside to the testing room, and found a group of other ponies trying it out aswell. "hey guys, mind if i test my wing power. or is somepony else going first?"

Yavolin went back to his room to relax his wing, he walked in and noticed cloud then he gave her his best smile. But strangly he was beinging to like her as more then a friend. He hoped she liked him but he knew this couldn't stand between him and rainbow dash.

Esme smiled at ElectroBolt. "Actually I was going to go first." She trotted over to the machine, took a deep breath, and after deploying her game face, flew past it in a blur of blue. "Hmm, now, what did I get..." Esme checked the dial, and gasped at what it said. "Fu.. fu... FOURTEEN POINT NINE!" She flew up into the air and did a looptey-loop. "I got the highest wingpower out of anypony here! Whoo! Brohoof?" She held out her hoof to the first pony she stopped by, and immediately blushed. "Oh, uh, hi, Draco..."

"Hello Esme" Draco said as he looked at her. He bumpped his hoof with hers gentlely "14.9 not a bad score but remember Esme don't et a big head about it. Remember I won that race because I used my mind to help myself" Draco explained with a smile. "And I also used a tornado to help myself too,"

"Haha, yeah. Right. I think that was against the rules, though. At least, if I was the ref it would be." Esme chuckled. "And, yeah, yeah, I'll try not to get TOO conceded... TRY. I mean, a 14.9 wingpower is sorta something worth bragging about, even just a little, am I right?"

"We didn't put down any ground rules did we" Draco said as  he looked at the mare "You look young but how old are you?" Draco asked as he braced for a hit from the mare. He knew it was rude to ask a lady her age. Draco looked at her while he was counting down his life span.

"Heh, thanks. I try. I'm actually 27 years old. How old are you?" Esme didn't find it offensive at all, what Draco said, but she knew that  other mares might just hit a stallion who asks her what her age is. She wasn't one of those mares, however, and she defiantly wasn't going to hit him. "So, I know you're a courier. I don't really use delivery services much, mostly because of the fact that I have a baby dragon at home that will send anything I want for the small price of a gem or two." She laughed a little, and smiled at Draco. "This stallion is pretty nice..."

"I'm 20 and yes I'm a courier plus I own O'mally courier services. If you've got a package that needs delivering use O'mally. Sorry you see it's because of my trade secret that all of my deliveries always satisfide my customers" Draco said as he looked at Esme.

Draco noticed Electro dash coming in "Go on ahead I'm about to go into the jaccuzi. Wanna come along Esme?" Draco asked as he walked towards the jaccuzi slowly. He looked at Electro Dash "You can come too if you'd like" Draco offered as he walked. Because of his large wings his shoulders sometimes ached.

"Nah im fine, just gunna test my rp then its off to that gym!" Electro Dash prepared herself. She got on the line, and pressed the button to start the countdown. As it went down, Her wings started to flap at their top speed. And when the lights went green, she whizzed down the track. Her speed felt... slower for some reason, but she shook it off. she passed the machine. It was calculating her wing power, and it appeared she got, 11.9? that was impossible. if it was true then she went down by.4, Which is never good. With no time to lose, she dashed down to the gym in a desperate hope nopony would come and mock her.

"Good job, Ace!" She said excitedly. "A 13 is amazing!" She then chuckled. "I still beat you, though." She watched as everypony else tested their wing power, and Scamps found that she wanted to hang out with Ace for a little more.

 

'You're not falling in love,' she thought to herself. 'Training first, he's just a friend.'

Of course, her lovey dubey side had to cut into her thoughts to.

'But he's so cue and handsome! Not to mention friendly! And, he's a magician. You two are prefect.'

 

Scamps wanted to knock the two voices in her head out.

 

"So, uh, Ace, do you want to go to the pool or something? It seems like we have a lot of down time right now,"

 

'Good job,' Scamps' "No time for love" voice said in her head. 'You totally sounded like you were asking him out.'
