Is my poetry good?

[Wolf-Boy 54]

I've been writing poetry since last year, and I've asked other people, but I want to get a broader range of people.  Here is one of them.

 

Staring at the sky above
I do not feel any love.
The world around me,
They are too blind to see
The blood spilling
And the trivial killing
Is tearing our lives apart.
When will we see in our heart
That the world could be beautiful,
And not as dead and sinful.
When will we learn to love
And see that the pettiness of
The battles that we fight
Injects a venom like a snakebite.
We descend ever deeper into the abyss,
Moving deeper into a bloody mist.
And I see our lives in this poem I have penned,
Are soon to come to an end.

Thanks Silverstar.  I mean, I'd had people telling me that I have a natural talent for it, but I didn't ever really believe them.  I mean, they were friends and family, so I thought they were saying it just to make me feel good about myself.

I thought the same, my family also said I was a good poet but I never believed them, but your poetry touches me in a way only deep poetry can, I wrote a similar poem, not as good as yours, but still, you've got talent.

I'd like to read yours.  Could you send i to me?  I like to read any other poetry that I can.  It gets pretty lonely here at my school.  No one here appreciates poetry, or any other form of art.  They're all about sports.  Bleh.

I read it.  Like I said, I like that it takes a more positive approach than my poem.  I seriously have a problem writing positive poetry.  I don't know why.
