What do you think is the most creative and unique part of the fandom?

What do you believe to be the most creative and entertaining OC generated by the community? Do you think the music is entertaining varied, or do you think the humor of the comics often almost always impresses? What about the animation and how much do you like of it, or do you feel that it there isn't enough of show-quality hype out there? Same kind of questions apply to comics, fanfics and PMV's.

 

I personally find the comics, art and animations the most enjoyable parts of the fandom. Dubstep isn't really my thing, and large portions of the music aspect are strictly that. However, I like to admire the sheer amounts of quality art and laugh at the great comics there are. There are obviously things I don't like, but those go without saying.

I think the most creative part of this fandom is  anything and everything that is contributed by the fandom at large from the original and unique music and wonderful that seem to come out nowhere! to the fantastic and beautiful art and the hilarious comic strips that is put out there. to animations and even the hilarious parodies that pop up!  even the custom pieces like pony plushies that seem to pop up everywhere  are all unique.  and everyone has their own take on what these plushies should look like! I think it's all really really great!

You've gotta love "Cupcakes". But yeah, I think the writers of fanfics like that and "My Little Dashie" have to be the most creative and unique part of the fandom.

I can't even say which more creative than another. I've had more success with stories than music. My mind is just ablaze with dubstep, but I know that's not the case for what music is out there which was inspired by MLP.

 

Btw, My Little Dashie... it was good, but I feel it needs a little more depth into the relationship between man and pony. Plus, feeling something from a cardboard box and just having to open it... sloppy writing. It's good. Not perfect. I know why people like it at least - it just could have been made that much better.

 

I'd recommend it anyway. It is a nice read, but I'd recommend Rainbow Factory more because it's written better and really pulls at those shock factors. Plus it doesn't have that awkward 'hey, I'm a brony and I wish this would happen and it does!' I suppose that's its strength: it speaks for all of us, I guess.

With such a widespread amount of fan labor going on throughout the community, it is difficult to pinpoint one exact sub-topic.  However, I see myself going back and viewing the artwork created by the fandom.  Some of it is simply breathtaking.  It is quite an accomplishment for a fanbase to create pictures that are of that high caliber.  I also enjoy reading some fanfics.  

 

I tend to ignore most of the fan-music, mainly because I cannot seem to listen to dubstep remixes for long periods of time.  PMVs are always nice, but dubstep isn't for me.

I think how nice the community is overall. Yes we have some extreme fans who hate people who disagree with them,but 99%  of the fandom is quite awesome. One thing that impresses me is the amount of art and music remixes there are made every day.

I'm guessing that RF is a good starting point then? I know there is orchestrated music made based on the fic (well-composed, might I add) so naturally I'm interested. (Some rec's for good non-dubstep brony music, by the way?)

It's not a case of the song being based off the story, but the story based off the song, which I found surprising. Both were made in the same month if I'm not mistaken... which really confuses me...

It must have been what was going through the writer's head when he first heard the piece. I know that some things sort of "reverse-inspire" people, and I know that some famous creations had creators that worked like this (can't think of an example off-hand, though.)

 

I wouldn't work that way, though.

Everything to me is the most creative/unique part.  I mean I basically look at about all forms of artwork in the fandom (well as much as I can), and I can say the fandom as a whole is creative and unique in itself, so it's impossible to choose one.

In my opinion, it's the fact that Hasbro actually supports the fandom and has contact with them, unlike other fandoms out there where producers simply ignore the fandom's desires and just center the on the cast it was intended to be, whereas this show has little of everything, a little reference here, a little of teen-aged plot there.
