writing Dreaming of acceptance

Dreaming

Oh how I wish I were dreaming

To never, ever feel this way again

Drenched in my misery

 

Everyone reminds me of who Im supposed to be

And who I am not

But just who am I to begin with?

 

My song is of yesterday

And they all sing of tomorrow

What has happened to me?

 

I just keep being reminded

The path I wish to follow is wrong

And I'm choking back the tears

Family stops being a comfort

A burden, more so

 

Even with a world against me

There is a world amongst me

New, with each breath

And now I feel welcomed

 

At long last,

I am no longer reminded

No longer fearful

And wholeheartedly accepted

It would be very nice if everyone in society accepted us as a whole once and for all, instead of just wasting their time hating on us.

This is very well-written, has a good rhythym, and a very strong sentiment which I can easily relate to. I wish people were more accepting so no one ever had to feel the frustration and pain of rejection and persecution. I feel like this is one of your best poems, TheBronyHeart. The only issue I see with it, is the missing apostrophe in "I'm."
