Descant looked up from his bandages, which he had somehow managed to get his hooves tangled in. "Well, I could never say no to a helping hoof... Especially when I'm... Like this." He gestured at the bruises down his side, disgustedly. "I managed to procure a few healing potions from an alchemist friend of mine before I came on this journey... I just can't get the ruddy... Bandages... Gah! Domen dail!" He managed to extract his hooves from the tangle by ripping one of the bandages.

Sturdy grins and chuckles softly... "Here, let me give you a hoof with that" As he delicately cuts the remaining bandage away with the tip of his bladed helm

"There ya go, not tangled anymore, take some of this" Sturdy pulls out a mint-esque herb from his pouch before grinding it in his hooves "It's a pain reliever, won't fix the wounds, but it will let you ignore them for a while"

Cunning Horn ignored all the jewels and expensive accessories. He pocketed some gold coins and picked an odd formed stone. That was no stone. Opal? No. He sniffed at the stone and licked it. Not amethyst. He stared at the stone for a full minute. He tried to feel it with his magic. His energy could moved softly through the stone. That didn't felt like an ordinary stone, but pretty similar. He got a wild idea. He pulled out his schianova and sharpened the stone in an edge, "Perfect" He thought as he put that stone in his saddlebag.

He snorted as he stared at his sword and threw it away. He spotted a well sharpened rapier near a pile of weapons. From it's clean appearance, he guessed that those trolls looted that rapier just several days ago. He observed the cave again and picked up a sharpening stone, "This is what I really need".

He pulled out his bottle and drank some water from it.

Star Rain was ecstatic at all of the treasures in the cave. It really didn't matter much though, since she could just pick up a stone and make it look like gold within 10 seconds flat. But she wondered what would happen if she charged some of them with her magic. So she levitated an aquamarine out of the pile and casted the same spell on it as she did with her sword( which she was perfectly happy with). She touched it and it all a sudden felt very cold to the touch. It was like ice from the very far south. She picked up a ruby, enchanted it again, and it glowed with a firery aura that lit up the cave a little. "These could be great weapons!" she muttered to herself excitedly. She pocketed them before trying one last time with an emerald. After she enchanted it, it hummed with something so sweet and soothing. It was a song that seemed to take all of her troubles away. Pleased, she pocketed the emerald along with the aquamarine and the ruby.

She looked around and saw lots of weapons. She didn't care for any of them though because she felt her own sword had enough power that was doubled by her magic. She'd rather wield the magic from her heart and soul than use power that was forged by another. The same went for her daggers, though one of them is cracked from the battle. "When re we getting out of this cave?" Star Rain asked, getting light-headed from the atrocious smell.

Cunning Horn heard Star Rain and simply strode out of the cave by his own demand. Not the smell which took him away from the cave, but the stone he found earlier. He rose that stone high and observed it. His horn glowed brown as he tried to fill the stone with his magic energy. The stone's color turned darker and darker as he filled it with energy. A minute later he stopped and stared at his stone, panting. He smirked. Even though he put almost half of his energy there, the stone was still could be charged with more energy.

He held that stone on his hoof, right in front of his right eyes, and aimed at a tree which stood a few yards from him. He directed the sharp point of the stone to the tree and unleashed a small energy to invoke that stone. A sound of shattered wood and screaming birds broke the silence when a magical bolt, which looked like the one he used earlier to killed the troll, skipped his distance from the tree and hit it right in the trunk. He smirked, "Now I have two charges of magic bolt" He thought as he looked around to see if he disturbed the company with his experiment or not.

Star Rain's ears perked up when she heard a thundering noise resonating in the cave. She cantered over to the entrance and saw a charred tree laying on the ground. Oh no, Arrow's going to get angry... she thought, knowing how Dryads have a very special connection to plant life. Not only was Arrow going to get angry, but the thunder could attract more beasts that the Everfree Forest has to offer! "Cunning Horn! What the heck happened here?!" she asked in a voice filled with shock and a touch of fury.

Arrow walked out of the cave...Wondering what the noise was when she saw the tree. *Wha...Why the buck ?* She glared at Cunning Horn. "And why in Equestria did you do that." She asked giving Cunning Horn an angry look then walking over to the tree which had a large chunk missing from the side.

"Oh relax Arrow, it's just a tree" Sturdy laughs as he strides out of the cave, observing the charred branches and trunk off what was left of the tree

"There are hundreds of thousands of them in this very forest alone, and they are not that splendidly important as it is, just relax" Sturdy turns to Cunning Horn

"Though she has a point, what exactly were you doing there Cunning?"

Arrow Glared at Sturdy. "Just a tree ? JUST A TREE ?" She walked up close to him and glared into his eyes. "You Seem To Have Forgotten That I Practically Was A Tree For About Four Hundred Year's Of My Life. DON'T you go saying that its 'just a tree'." She said, Angrily.

She walked back over to the tree and sat down next to it.

"Well... I mean you are right, it is not so much a tree now as it is a charred husk of one, so this former tree here, was it a dryad as well?"   Sturdy knocks on the wood with his now heavily armored hoof, smudging some soot on the cloudsteel gauntlets

"Or do you just love all trees? I don't get the relationship here"

"No...This tree was not a Dryad, But that tree, That tree, That tree and that tree, And that tree, and that tree." She continued pointing at different tree's surrounding them as she spoke.

"And that tree, And that tree...Are all very very sad...They're all speaking to me. They watched their friend die." She said, Putting her hoof against the dead tree. "All plant's are alive. They have Spirit...Which dies when they die...All of the tree's within sight are crying." She said. "You all saw what happened to the last thing that hurt a tree...It got my spear in its ankle and a poisonous dart in its eye. Don't buck with nature."

Cunning Horn tried to make a friendly grin, but only make a weird one. He stared at the glaring Dryad. Even though the glare was pretty scary, he stifled a smirk. He just found one interesting thing about the Dryad that he would gain opportunity from it later. He held his stone with his hoof and rose it so the party can see it "This thing did. Not me".

He walked slowly to Star Rain, "I just tried to observed what is this stone" He paced to Sturdy as he talked, "And found that it held a large amount of magic energy". He stood in front of Arrow, "Accident for sure".

Sturdy Wing sits down with a thud on the trunk, looking intently at Arrow "Trust me I understand your concern, I have spent the past twelve years among the trees and woodlands of Everfree, I just have never found anything remarkable about them... Just hunks of wood that house monsters that like to jump out at me and threaten towns"

Sturdy sighs, before speaking "My job is literally nothing but to buck with nature, I keep the evils within the Everfree forest from spilling out into our cities and roadways, sometimes Arrow... Nature needs to be bucked hard for us to keep our place in this world"

"You, Sturdy, Need to learn how to listen. The tree's can be your friend's. And No, Nature does not need to be 'bucked hard' for us to keep our place in this world. Nature will allow us to take what we need but sometimes we abuse that power. And keeping monster's from cities is not bucking with nature...That's just keeping monster's from cities. I can see why it would be difficult to understand...As none of you can speak with nature. No offence." She then looked up at Cunning horn. "You don't need to explain that to me, Cunning Horn...You need to explain that to the forest." She stood up.

Sturdy opens his eyes wide before shaking his head and standing up "No, no I am sorry Miss, they are just Trees..." He flaps his wings and hovers just above the ground "Trees are trees, Ponies are ponies, and dragons are dragons; I don't know what it is you speak with... but it isn't a tree"

knocking his hoof into the dirt Sturdy begins to grow impatient "Are we planning on leaving any time soon? we ARE still heading to Canterlot are we not? I have literally flown there and back already"

Star Rain's voice lost the shock and only became stern and slightly became that of an authority's,"Well, next time, can you please observe it in a place that's soundproof? Some of the forest's fauna could follow the thunder to us right now! And we have a Dryad in the group that I can sense past trauma from!" She lowered her head and placed her hoof over her heart. "Trauma greater than my own..." she said sadly.

Helm stood at the entrance of the cave, looking out across the Saddle Lake with a keen eye. Across in the distance stood Canterlot, the great city of Celestia. But something was off, strange figure around the lake shore. Helm called to Star Keeper who hurried to his side. "What is it? What do you see?"

"Look, off to the distance. Are those ponies or some foul creatures?" Helm kept himself alert, ready to call on Descant if things were to get out of hoof.

"They can't be ponies. Look at their shape; it's jagged and rough, and they appear to be carrying riders."

A loud howl could be heard, echoing across the blue lake and into the troll cave. "Timberwolf Riders. They have found us."

"What are they?"

"Dogs, trained hunters that ride on the back of wooden beasts. We have lingered here too long. Get everypony together, we must gallop to Canterlot with full haste."

"I am ready to go whenever you give the order, just let me know what we are doing"

"Oh great! Maybe later oh the magnificent forest" Cunning Horn bowed around to the trees and waved his hoof. He unsheathe his rapier, "It's time to do our greatest tradition" He laughed and put his stone in his saddle. He used his smoke spell to block their hunter's sight and ran away. Actually he didn't mind to fight, but he had used too many magical energy that day.

Arrow shook her head and stood up. "There are seven of them, One is quite large and very powerful, They should be here within a few minutes." She looked at Sturdy and Cunning Horn. "Wanna know who told me that ? The forest." She winked and picked up her spear, Then looked at Helm. "Ready when you are."

"Ugh, this is what I get for removing my wing clips" Sturdy remarks with anger at himself, had he not left on his own for a trip to Canterlot then he would still be ready for combat

The howl of the timberwolves sliced through her mind like a dragon's claw. Timberwolves?! Star Rain head jerked over toward the direction of the timberwolves and the riders. She unsheathed her sword and levitated two of her gems, the blue one and the red one, out of her bags. Then she overheard Helm make the complete identification. "Do you mean Diamond Dogs? Because I know how to distract them!" she called out to Helm and Keeper.

"No, these are not typical Diamond Dogs that scour in the old ruins and mines. These are killers. Do not hope to reason with them for they have little in the way of mercy." Helms voice was tinged with anger as he spoke, instantly moving to gather the other company members.

"Don't mind him." Star quickly imputed. "Helm has more reason than most to hate dogs. They killed his father many years ago after they attacked the Smokey Mountain. Helm slew their leader and sent him crawling away. Anyway, let us move now before they pick up our scent."

Goldseek watched the ponies flee and tried to follow, but his back was a problem. Stumbling after the rest of the group, he tripped over a rock, the Timberwolves still approaching. "Ugh... Guys. A little help here?" He tried to keep walking. "Damn back." The riders were now closing in on him.
