"No, these are not typical Diamond Dogs that scour in the old ruins and mines. These are killers. Do not hope to reason with them for they have little in the way of mercy." Helms voice was tinged with anger as he spoke, instantly moving to gather the other company members.

"Don't mind him." Star quickly imputed. "Helm has more reason than most to hate dogs. They killed his father many years ago after they attacked the Smokey Mountain. Helm slew their leader and sent him crawling away. Anyway, let us move now before they pick up our scent."

"Oh, ok! Thanks for the info.!" Star Rain flinched at Helm's story. But this was no time to offer her condolences. She summoned her fake gems and spread them out in front of the cave. She was careful to use a small water orb spell on them to get rid of her scent and she let the orb burst and rain down on the ground cover everypony elses' scent. "Alright, let's go!" she shouted.

Goldseek watched the ponies flee and tried to follow, but his back was a problem. Stumbling after the rest of the group, he tripped over a rock, the Timberwolves still approaching. "Ugh... Guys. A little help here?" He tried to keep walking. "Damn back." The riders were now closing in on him.

Descant fell back. He himself was not in much better condition than Seek, but he could push himself, and distract them. "Go. I've dealt with Dogs before. I know what they hate." Descant stood there bravely, in the middle of the dog's path as Goldseek fled away. Just as they were approaching where he stood, Descant inhaled deeply, and prepared himself.

"Descant you idiot!" Sturdy yelled from the skies before soaring downward and wrapping his hooves around Descant's body and flapping his wings mightily, lifting the two of them off the ground and into the skies "This is no time for heroics, we are leaving now!"

"Descant you idiot!" Sturdy yelled from the skies before soaring downward and wrapping his hooves around Descant's body and flapping his wings mightily, lifting the two of them off the ground and into the skies "This is no time for heroics, we are leaving now!"

Descant lost his breath. He had inhaled to maximum lung capacity, and had been about to shriek when this... This dunderbrain just carried him away. "I know what I'm doing! Why don't you trust me?" He wriggled to where he was facing the dogs, and, inhaling to max lung capacity again, shrieked... But the shriek was inaudible to pony ears. Not to a dog's.  The sudden, loud burst of inaudible sound shocked the pursuing dogs, and they several of them fell off their timberwolves.

(Descant can basically do this with one type of application of his magic. Dogs hate whistles, and high-pitched noises.)

Sturdy flies off with Descant in hoof, following Helm "I promise you this is not a matter of trust, I trust you completely, but we don't need to fight anymore than we have to, You remember the injuries we suffered last time around? Lets keep those to a minimum" Sturdy keeps Desc held tightly as his wings flap with might

Star Rain pocketed her gems again, but kept her sword unsheathed. She ran off at full speed, following Sturdy and Descant. Oh no, this is bad. I'm not really the athletic type, but strangely enough, I can run very fast. She closed her eyes and focused on going faster and faster.

Cunning Horn looked back as he galloped away from the timber wolves. Some companions were struggling with their wounds and one of them, the pony with flute, did something that took out some dogs. He tried to find something useful in his saddlebag and pulled out two dark brown balls with a burner on it. He winced, "Never thought that I will use this one. Well, screw the rules". He turned back to the wolves as he ignite the bombs and threw them to the timber wolves. Those bombs made a little explosion and a thick brown and smell smoke spread from it. He smirked and stifled a laugh, "Hope those dung bombs will works".

(OOC: sorry i haven't posted in the past few days))

Everything seemed to happen so fast for Seeker, one moment the group had been in the reeking cave of the Trolls that had attacked them earlier. After getting into the cave he found himself speechless as he saw the massive pile of gold, weapons and gems. Though what  grabbed his attention was what appeared to be a crossbow, it wasn't the normal size of a Crossbow, but  a bit smaller then one. A closer look at the crossbow would show that it could easily be handled with one hand for a quick shot or like a normal crossbow for a better shot. Even the bolts where different, they seemed to have some carvings on them for different meanings. After putting the bolts and the smaller then average crossbow into hidden pockets in his cloak, he found his way out a bit after the group.

Before Seeker even had the opportunity to break into Arrow and Cunning Horn's argument a band of diamond dog hunters on timber wolves started to charge the group. At the moment Arrow had prepared to pull out his knew crossbow and strike down one of the diamond dogs, but he soon fell to his knees like most of the diamond dogs and timber wolves as he heard Descant's whistle as he tried to cover his ears as he let out a screech of pain from the ultrasonic range of the whistle. Unlike ponies that couldn't hear the whistle, griffins ears where just as keen as diamond dogs ears where, so the whistle did just as much pain and damage to them if not more because of how close Seeker was compared to the band of attackers.

Goldseek was galloping away from the riders, his back causing him to be slower then usual. He saw dogs fall off the timberwolves, and, confused, looked up to see Sturdy and Descant. He was unsure where they were going, he just followed, trying to escape the pursuers.

(OOC: Is this RP dying? That would suck.)

Star Rain was beginning to get tired and tired as she kept galloping away from their pursuers. She may be a scholar and a mage, but she's definitely not an athlete. She could tell she was slowing down, but the urge to survive filled her with energy. Regardless of her deep, heavy breathing, she galloped on.

Helm galloped along the lake shore as fast as his legs would carry him, eager to get under the cover of the trees, but they had to cross the open fields to reach Canterlot. The company left the water side, little looking back at their pursuers. Maybe they has lost them? There was little time to think, Canterlot was now in clear sight. Now all that lied in their path was the expansive country.

“Star Keeper, how far are we from the city.”

Star tried to regain his breath, but was struggling after an uncomfortable amount of exercise. “I’d say…  about…  two miles to go.”

“Damn, we must keep moving! We can’t risk those Dogs picking up our trail again.” Helm began to gallop down the hillside and onto the grassy field, Star quickly flying to his side.

“Why are they...  following us? More to the point, what are Dogs doing so far east?”

Helm gave a grave look back at Star, a flat tone to his gruff voice. “They must have found out about our journey. They will kill us before we reach the mountain. Our only hope is to reach the city at full haste. We can cut through the mountain, but we must be swift.”

Goldseek ran as fast as he could, now ignoring the pain in his back. He had overheard Star and Helm talking. Two miles. He hoped he could make it that far. "What when we're there? I mean, I doubt we can just walk into the city without questioning, plus we have the princesses on our case."

Star Rain was VERY tired by this point, but she still willed herself to go on. She then overheard Helm and Star Keeper talking and was both relieved that they stand a pretty high chance of outrunning the dogs, and dismayed at the fact that she's returning to a place that she promised to never come back to.
