@, Quip rolled his eyes and sighed, "No, its my fault. I coulda just stood up by myself" he said and demonstrated by doing just that. "Anyway, whats your name? I'm Quip, i'm going to do a fireworks show at midnight, you should see it, it has one of my new additions in it. The Fat Fla-... actually, im going to rename it, not really appropriate for ages foal and under. You come here alone like i did?"

Star opened her mouth, but closed it and just nodded.

"Yea, I did come alone. And my name is Star Song." She held out her hoof to shake Quip's. "I will be sure to watch your firework show." She said, Smiling shyly. "I like fireworks but...I sometimes find them too loud." She chuckled.

Once Star Keeper was done admiring the decor, he decided it might be best to get off on good terms early. He took out from his scarf a small notebook, on which was a list of things to do.

 

'Okay, so we have leaned from previous parties a number of things. "Step 1: Try to avoid getting into romantic trouble." Should be easy enough. "If Step 1 fails skip to Step 5." He flicks over the page. "Step 5: Run." Well that's not helpful. Okay, let's just have some friendly social interaction.'

 

Star trotted up to the first ponies he saw, one being a Blue and White mare and the other was a funny little Blue and Green stallion. They would suffice!

 

"Hello."   ...Now what do I say?

Quip almost instantly frowned at the last thing she said, "Then you 'might' not want to come to this show, it includes multiple of my infamous 'Ear Shatterer's' So its going to be a lot louder than normal firework shows. Even though making fireworks is what i love to do.. . actually, i like setting them off, but i also love making new type of fireworks. Testing is quite the thrill too, that's how i got these permanent charred hairs" he said pointing to his mane.

 

Then a Yellow coated Blue maned stallion walked over, but only to say hello. "Uh... hi?" he said awkwardly. But the stallion still stood.

"I will be fine, I just put my hooves over my ears and then I can enjoy the rest of the show." She smiled, Then went back into her shy mode when a new pony walked over. "Um...H-Hello." She said, Quietly, her ears flattened and she blushed.

She looked down at the ground and tapped her hoof against the floor.

Off to a good start, if you define good start as not being turned away.

 

"Yes, well... I, um. Sorry, my names Star Keeper. I-I, what's yours?"

 

That didn't go as well as expected, not that we ever had any high expectations. Nice work screwing things up as usual Star Keeper.

Buck, buck, BUCK BUCK BUCK! COME ON ROCKSHIRE, YOU'VE NEVER BEEN LATE TO ANYTHING IN YOUR LIFE!

 

The brown mare was dashing right through the sand, up her way to this odd sand castle. There was a gatepony there, but all Rockshire did was flash the invite in his face, and ran right in. Once she got in, she was breathing heavily, catching her breath. 

 

"Sorry... I'm late...."

Quip smiled and pretty much forcefully shook Star Keepers hoof, "Nice to met you! I'm Quip, i'm doing a fireworks show at midnight if you didn't know already. Also Star, one of the best parts about a firework show is the sound, if you want i can take out the ear shatterer's just to make it sound friendly"

Cascade grew bored. Didn't anypony want to see the Ballroom? Why, she'd spent weeks designing the Ballroom alone! Oh well. She went back into the Entrance Hall, where another stallion, this one wearing a handsome scarf, had arrived and was talking to Star and... that Fireworks fellow... She remembered asking him to set up fireworks, but otherwise had forgotten him. Huh. She had just approached the scarf-wearing stallion, and said, "Hi," when another pony, a unicorn with an orange mane dashed into the room, panting. So many new ponies! Cascade gave an excited shudder, her wings fluttering slightly and uselessly.

Aarod didn't see the new pony walk up until the pony said hi, and still didn't here them at first. "Oh sorry, hello." He said, looking at him. Well Aarod your here now, don't do anything stupid. He told himself. "My name is Aarod Brachuin, what might yours be." He asked after a pause of a few moments.

Aarod didn't see the new pony walk up until the pony said hi, and still didn't here them at first. "Oh sorry, hello." He said, looking at him. Well Aarod your here now, don't do anything stupid. He told himself. "My name is Aarod Brachuin, what might yours be." He asked after a pause of a few moments.

Star turned on the spot, quickly facing the new face he had only just noticed. "S-sorry. Didn't exactly see you there. My names Star Keeper, but you don't have to call me that if you want to."

"There's um...No need Quip, I can handle it." She gave him a small smile.

As all the ponies chatted, Star remained quiet and slowly started backing up towards the door.

After a second she opened it up and walked out. *Ugh, Why do I never know what to say at social gatherings.* She thought, Walking towards the beach.

Quip noticed Star leaving and he quickly followed behind her, "Yeah, i may be a social pony, but i can agree it was starting to get a bit crowded" he said before walking up to her side. "I don't mind walking with you, besides. I can look at the castle later... That is, unless you don't want me to come with"

After finally catching her breath, Rockshire looked to the crowd. No pony she could recognize right off the bat... Great. She wandered a little bit, before seeing a cyan pony heading out to the beach, seeming a bit anti-social... Rockshire decided to follow her there, and when she got close enough, she started talking.

 

"Hey... You OK?"

Star did another pivot, by this point completing a 360 turn. He was getting slightly overwhelmed as he usually does at parties, this kind of social interaction always having him on his hooves. "Sorry, I... where are me manners?"

 

Star brushed himself off as he addressed his host, slightly bowing his head and extending his hoof. "My names Star Keeper..."

Cascade looked at the bowing pegasus curiously, with a slight aura of amusement. Since when did she merit such an honour? She dipped her head politely in return, her strangely feathered wings fluttering cheerfully in a sort of curtsy. They seemed to have a mind of their own... "It's nice to meet you, Star Keeper. I'm Cascade. Welcome to my castle." She looked back up at him, eyes twinkling.

Star instantly recoiled at his choice of action. "Sorry, I-I guess that wasn't too necessary." He shied away a bit, odd way to act for a stallion. "Your home is beautiful, and I haven't even got a chance to explore it yet." He trailed his gaze over the expansive hall, admiring ever aspect of craft that went into it. "You sure do have refined tastes."

Then she noticed a unicorn with a very lovely orange mane walk up to them. "Oh, Hello...Im fine yes." She said, Blushing. *Star, Try to be a little more outgoing.* Star gulped and took a deep breath. "Um...I'm Star Song." She said to the mare.

Aarod backed up from the crowd of ponies and somehow ended up in the Ballroom. This is much better than that other room. He said, looking around. The room was gorgeous, and he didn't see any other ponies in here except the DJ. Alright, just going to wait in here for one pony to show up to talk to.

"Well, it's nice to meet you Star Song... I'm Rockshire.", she said while trying to imitate a bit of a curtsy. She looked back to the sand castle, noticing its features.

 

"I honestly love this castle... The architechture to it is so flawless... Whoever is the owner should be proud of this..."

Cascade grinned pridefully, contradicting the slight blush she had felt at the compliments. "It's been months and months of hard work on my part, I'll tell you. And it's not even done. The outside, bottom floor and basement look good, but upstairs? Giant mounds of sand are still waiting to be sculpted." She shuffled her hooves, smiling sheepishly.

"I was...Just on my way to the beach." She said, looking up at Rockshire. After she realized how random that was, She blushed and looked back down at the ground.

"I was...Just on my way to the beach." She said, looking up at Rockshire. After she realized how random that was, She blushed and looked back down at the ground.

 

Rockshire looked over to the embarrassed Star Song, judging her pretty quickly. "You're not a sociable pony, aren't you? I can tell by your quietness, shyness, how you blush whenever you speak... Not so hard to point out... Uh, if you don't mind me asking... Could I join you?"

Star blushed even more. "Yea...Pretty much everything you said is true...And I suppose you can come, I didn't really have any idea of what I would be doing at the beach once I got there...I just thought I would go take a look at the beach." She smiled shyly. "Um...Quip, You can come too if you would like." She said, Looking at Quip.
