So whaddaya say? isn't this awesome? finally a 3D Pokemon game, with awesome new Pokemon to back it up! And there was even a Kirlia there which means there could be 3rd gen Pokemon too! I am so happy this is happening, I'm getting a 3DS just for this game ^w^

Dude you can turn off the 3D on the 3DS, it's not mandatory  there's a slider on the device to change how much of an effect it will have, you don't HAVE to play in 3D

Having played Pokemon for more than half my life, this excites me. Although G5 Pokemon were a bit unimaginative, I have really high hopes  for this to rekindle my love for Pokemon  

 

Other than mentioned stuff, what sort of things do you think we'll be seeing this time round?

 

Also, while we're on a Pokemon thread...am I the only one who never has, or will, nickname their Pokemon?

This is especially annoying when you battle someone of faltering maturity, who has named their Flygon 'BumLord' or something equally inane XD

I'm beyond hyped for this. This is the Pokemon game I've been dreaming about since the N64 came out. Lot of speculation abound abound right now, like stuff about the possibility of customizable trainers and stuff, so I can't wait for solid info.

Hopefully what we hoped for ever since Gen 5, which is from what I recall less story orientation and more gameplay heavy, NOT super-unoriginal Pokemon, new kinds of moves, you know, whatever we want from every gen essentially

I personally hope for a bigger focus on team composition variety, I mean that there would be more than one effective way to build your team, because from what I know there was really only a mere few good teams in the last gen.

Subtitles during the Pikachu intro? Please, I've played enough of the games to know what Pokemon are saying without subtitles! 

 

Anyway, I'm really glad they've moved into the the newer 3D perspective with this game, I've been waiting for a game that played the same as the main series but looked like Pokemon Colosseum. This game should really improve on the series.

 

Hopefully the DS will see a price drop from now until then so I'll be more inclined to actually get it as I haven't bothered to get it as my original DS still works great. Hopefully there'll be a Pokemon special addition for it which I'll certainly be getting! 

 

I will admit though, I'm still saddened that there's no updated version of Gen 3 being announced yet that I know of

Well, we did see a Kirlia in the video like I said, so it might have something similar to HG and SS with there being 16 badges only Hoenn will be at a smaller scale. At least I hope so, but one way or another people have already pirated the shit out of the 3rd gen, so maybe it's for a good reason. Who knows, but I'm fine as long as my Emerald cartridge and my GBA SP still work (which they do amazingly enough)

I'm actually really excited. I was hoping for a gen 3 remake,  but I'm still excited for the new generation.  Glad they're updating the games to 3-d. luckily I already have my 3ds. I am also really glad that it's being released world wide on the same day.

The DS can't handle this kind of game for one, and a lot of people already have a 3DS, and there was a decent timeframe between the 3DS release and the DS release, I don't think it's smart to really release major titles on the DS anymore, because they WILL make more money from the 3DS, and they can make better bigger games on it. Besides it's the next step in Nintendo's market, they can't keep dwelling in their semi-old systems anymore :T

I think that Chespin looks the best out of the 3 so far, although hopefully they'll make Fennekin a real fire type without these ridiculous fire/fighting cross overs we've been seeing recently.

So they finally try their hand at 3D again, eh? I never played DX but Coliseum was fairly good (aside from it's stupid pokemon catching system)

 

It's about time they went into full 3D. I like the new fire type starter, he's a Fennec Fox!

 

Also, anyone who's ever said the last generation was unimaginative hasn't looked at the first generation in a while. I looked back on it and realized that most of the pokemon from the first generation were incredibly unoriginal. Onyx was a stack of rocks, Geodude WAS a rock, Pikachu is a mouse with electricity....

I don't know if you play league of legends but I know have this image of a firey Warwick (who is a werewolf) xD.

 

Nah, by the look of it it'll hopefully be a more Vulpix/Ninetails style Pokemon. I would really like it if they went back to how Gen 2 did the starters and make them single type or at least two types that make sense together like Grass/Poison.
