Cascade ambled, with her backpack, from Prancer Hall, her dorm, to the Paradise Gym Complex. Since it was built into the side of a hill, Cascade had to enter from the top floor, but not before seeing another exit at the bottom level. A lot of Paradise Complex's top floor was open up to the sky so Pegasus ponies could practice their aerobatics, and Cascade marveled at the sheer size of the tracks for ponies to run, and all the exercise equipment. She went down a floor, and found courts for some obscure sport, where she could see unicorns using their magic to levitate paddles of some sort to hit balls back and forth across a net. She didn't stay long to watch; she wouldn't find what she was looking for here. So she went down another floor, and saw a gigantic pool, and signs pointing down two separate hallways proclaiming locker rooms were that way. Her eyes lingered on the pool before she followed the one for the mares' locker room.

 

It smelled of sweat. Cascade could hear the showers running; evidently somepony didn't want to walk back to her dorms all sweaty from a good workout. She located the room labeled 'Sauna', and threw her saddlebag and the jacket she wore into a locker outside it before entering. It felt so good in there... She spread out her wings, for the moment, not caring, and enjoyed the empty sauna as she sat back and closed her eyes.

"That's what they all think at first." Star walked over to the door, tightening the old brown scarf around his neck. "Now to figure out where the hell am I." He looked back at the little handout map he had been given, looking back and forth down the corridors. "Then I have to figure out where the hell I'm going."

Ace walked out his room and decided to look around he did past other poines but didn't really feel like starting a conversation. He ended up at the theatre department and walked in, jaw hitting the floor again when he saw how big the stage ways.

Lite Shade just went back to her room, a bit sorrowful of herself. If only she was able to tell Air Opal about the rooms, then she wouldn't have failed... ((At this point, you could say that Lite is a hard achiever, and if she fails little things, she goes all depress-o.))

 

She laid up on her bed, looking at her side of the room. It was a shame that she didn't have anything to name of as hers... The only possession she owned was her necklace, and it wasn't even important... Just something she found in a trash bin before Sombra found her...

Diamond pushed open the double door's leading into the theatre. She walked in. It had that wonderful theatre smell, She smiled.

Then she noticed another pony across the room. He didn't notice her so she just stood there awkwardly. *Um...I will just walk.* She thought, Pretending she didn't see the pony and walking down some steps towards the big stage.

Night Song was left at the door facing a depressed-looking mare. Being a good-natured pony, she took a step forward. "Hi, I know you know already, but I'm Night Song. You can just call me Night though," she said, further introducing herself. "And you're Shade, right?" she pressed on.

*Ugh, is there anything to kill time with?* Lila thought now getting bored lying on her bed. She jumped off and checked to make sure the brew was coming along. After that she exited her and Cascades room to go and explore. Not knowing where anything was, since this was her first year here, she check one of the maps she had on her and found that two floors down was a magic dueling area. "Perfect!" she muttered to herself with a huge grin now plastered on her face. Now with a destination in mind, Lila made her way down to the dueling area...

"Anyhoof, my name is Lite Shade. But, you can just call me Lite for short. Since we both are heading to the arena, would you want to spar a little?"

Her horn began to glow yellow, as five small, but fast, lightning shots were fired, heading straight at Lila.

Lila reacted quickly to the lightning bolts, throwing up a shield made out of fire. The bolts were stoped by the shield except for one which flew past her. Lila lowered the wall and retaliated with jet of flame that burned white along with the flame on her horn, which had changed color to her mood.

Lite saw the blast coming quickly and teleported out of the way of the jet, now firing twice as many shots, going at double the speed than the previous shots. She didn't want to use her magic just yet... Soon though... Lila will see her true power.. Of the shadows...

You mean you're more than what meets the eye? Night Song went over to her bed and dropped her saddlebags onto it. Well, time to socialize! "Well, I'm taking dramatic arts, music, and history. What classes are you taking?" the blue pegasus asked Shade.

Lite saw the blast coming quickly and teleported out of the way of the jet, now firing twice as many shots, going at double the speed than the previous shots. She didn't want to use her magic just yet... Soon though... Lila will see her true power.. Of the shadows...

Lila quickly set up another fire shield. A few stray bolts hit the ground near her. *Going to play that way huh?* she looked around and saw that a few others had started to gather around to watch. "What do you say we give them a show?" She asked Lite while she prepared for her next spell. First Lila set up a fire bubble around her to protect from any attacks. Then she began to concentrate. A black circle lined the boundary of the barrier then began to swirl up in a black smoke. A few licks of flame shot out from the swirl into spots on the floor...

Cascade stirred, awoken out of her drowsy state. Another pony, older by the looks of it, had joined her in the sauna. She suddenly sat rather rigidly as her wings snapped to her side. The pony didn't react, just looked at Cascade a while longer. 

 

"You look like a swimmer." 

 

Cascade blinked. "W-what?"

 

"You're built like an aquatic athlete. Even your wings-" Cascade drew them in, even closer, at this point- "-They're... Streamlined. Other pegasus' wings just get in the way in the water. Yours look like they might actually help." 

 

Cascade looked around awkwardly. She gazed at the door, wishing to rush out it.

 

The mare sat up, looking in Cascade's eyes. "Listen. I can tell, you're in a hurry, and you probably don't want to talk about them beautiful wings of yours. But..." She now had Cascades attention. "... If you were willing to humour me, and try out for Swim Team this semester, you could go far. So far. You'd have a reason to be proud of them wings of yours." "How did you-" "-Please, dear, it was obvious. Now go. You look in an awful rush. Tryouts for Swim Team are in two days. And I'm Red Tide, head swim coach." "I'm Cascade." "Well, isn't that nice? Now go along. Do whatever it is you do."

 

Cascade left the sauna, and slipped her jacket and saddlebag back on, not sure what to make of her conversation with Red Tide. She slowly made her way back from Paradise Complex to Prancer Hall... 

 

She sat in her room, door wide open (Let's say 113 instead, so it's on the first floor, not the ground floor, which would be 001 and stuff) clapping her hooves together while lying on her bed, thinking.

Her horn now emitted black, as a moderate gust of wind flowed in the room. Her eyes were now black as night, looking straight at Lila before slipping into the shadows, waiting to see how she reacted.
