Rainbow Dashin' 107 July 21, 2013 Share July 21, 2013 I have to agree with Betez, I think it's due to the fact she doesn't have her cutie mark yet, so her magic is undertermined so far. I, for one, would love to see Sweetie Belle use magic and Scoots to fly.

In the spoiler, Scootaloo is disabled (she admitted so by saying her own wings can't take her off the ground) and DT actually gave us insight into Scootaloo. (I.e:She can't fly, her peers already learned way way before her) At the same time, you'd expect bullying toward Sweetie for her magic. I'm going to assume you must know yourself get your mark to actually do magic or come to a breaking point where you eventually learn. But I didn't watch the spoilers for a reason: They're spoilers. I'd much rather wait to see what they have in store for us instead of watching it ahead of time. But thank you for the information, regardless.
RrVPfX9cPtw59FpC 1,304 July 31, 2013 Share July 31, 2013 It really all depends on whether or not Hasbro intended for them to be random types of ponies, one for each. They were seen together in episode one, so we don't know if they were together on purpose or not. If not, then hopefully we can see why they are each the types of ponies that they are! This signature was removed for being too obnoxious and arrogant. -Makusu2 By the way, if you're talking to me in a thread, please quote my previous post. Otherwise, I might not respond to you. hawkflame 3,310 August 9, 2013 Share August 9, 2013 What I don't get is why Scootaloo's presumed to be disabled (though I guess it's now canonized, thanks to the Season 4 animatics at Comic Con) but there;s no such presumption for Sweetie Belle. Why is Sweetie Belle considered "normal" but Scootaloo is handicapped? Sig by Thunderstorm Check out my Rarity fansite!

Why is Sweetie Belle considered "normal" but Scootaloo is handicapped? Like most say, many unicorns know magic based on the marks they have, their talents. Its really hard to do magic if you don't know your talent yet like she does. Plus, we never see a unicorn filly use magic. Scootaloo however, is different. We see many pegasi fillies fly in many episodes such as the academy, which all those fillies look her age, and even in hurricane shy or the ending of Friendship is Magic part 2. Plus, we seen instances where she just can't fly like any other filly, and given the ages that the backgrounds seem to fly, you can see that she is either handicapped over VERY late. With Sweetie, she has no talent yet, so the only thing she really can do is lift things up, maybe not even that I suppose, but she did spark. Besides, even the canon characters had problems with magic when they were fillies. (Twilight and Rarity. Twilight barely could turn a page/hatch Spike and Rarity hadn't shown her ability until she was dragged.) Slice0Pie 815 August 27, 2013 Share August 27, 2013 (edited) Unicorn Magic is HARD work. Pegasus not flying though, is a different story. So I personally understand in Sweetie Belle cant use magic yet, since she doesn't really focus on that, as I can see. NavelColt 22,881 August 27, 2013 Share August 27, 2013 I don't recall seeing Sweetie Belle using magic. Are there any scenes in MLP:FiM,where SB is shown using her horn to use magic? I was wondering why we've never seen Sweetie Belle use magic - by her age, she should have at least some magic ability. It got me wondering if she was just born without magic ability, like Scootaloo is unable to fly. Ok, so we all know that Scootaloo can't fly, the whole bronydom is aware of that and they're going to use it as part of the plot in season 4. Scootaloo cant fly, so every brony focuses on her, freaking out that she cant fly, blah blah blah. And yet, Sweetie Belle can't do magic, and yet, no fan focuses on that part much. I've merged all of your topics together, as they all discuss why Sweetie Belle can't (seemingly) use magic, and why that gets no focus from the show or fandom, while Scootaloo being flightless does :
Gamer_Luna27 77 August 27, 2013 Share August 27, 2013 (edited) I am more curious why Scootaloo can't fly or even glide proper. Despite popular belief, Hasbro has, in fact, shown a seen where Scootaloo flies-season 1, episode 23: The Cutie Mark Chronicles. (It counts because her hooves are stuck to the ground ) Scootaloo does fly briefly in that episode at the very beginning. Back on topic, I don't think we'll get to see Sweetie Bell use magic until she gets her cutie mark, and since THAT isn't going to happen (in the foreseeable future, anyway) I think we can assume that Sweetie Bell is forever magicless Edited August 27, 2013 by RistroxD
