writing An Ode to the Fallen

I've been feeling kinda down lately, due to several happenings that I don't really care to go into explanation unless asked. Thus, to my rather sad mood, I decided to right a sad little song. It's quite short, but I think that would seem fitting. It's set to the tune of Greensleeves, which is a rather beauitful tune:

Here me lads, sorrow I bring

Of another victim of this war

Lines of soldiers pay respect

His casket paraded through the street

Lines of soldiers stand erect

While drums play their muffled beat

 

So proudly he did turn around

The tattered colors he grasped in hand

So proudly he was struck down

For he died for his dear homeland
