North looked around. He pounded the side of his head distractedly, trying to rid his ears of the ringing they had had. "Sorry, Slicer... I can't quite hear properly at the moment, apparently... And yeah, we should stay here. And we'll want a few ponies on watch, to guard against Erklings."

Slicer nodded. "I can do that." He said, Grabbing his Canteen and taking a sip of the water inside. *It would be so easy to just let these ponies die...All we would have to do is light a fire to get the forests attention...And leave.* *Tell me then...Why did you try to save Frostbite ?* *...* He thought, Grabbing his knife and making lines in the dirt on the ground.

Frostbite looked at North, with a rather shocked expression. "I thought I..." she started, but instead "sure I...I guess" she nodded. She then headed over to Slicer, who was looking rather disgruntled "Hey, thanks for helping me out back there. Took a bit to get me walking again" gesturing to her supports with her head. She moved to for a quick hug, but thought better of it and stopped herself. "Don't take it personally with North, i'm sure it's just because things are hectic right now."

"I can help with the watch too." Leaf said. Since he wasn't injured as much as the others, he can pretty much be useful to watch for the night. Then; Leaf mentally waited for a thanks from Demence for helping him free from the vine. "Talk about first day dangers, I don't know if I can survive for any longer..." Leaf thought.

Aqua sat down and rested after being ignored still thinking to him self, we have just been attacked by the forrest, and killed what was attacking us, so the forest must of felt that or noticed it, but yet we are staying in the same place where we have just angered the forest and not finding a safe place to rest. Aqua just sat down and did nothing from here just waited, he had already cleaned out frostbites wounds and the zebra's wounds and tied rope around his body to hold it together, he could do no more for now so he waited.

Slicer nodded. "Things are indeed quite hectic." He said, Putting his knife back in its sheath and smiling at Frostbite. "And I suppose having support's and walking around is better than not having supports and not walking around...If that makes any sense." He chuckled and stretched his wings.

"Still, if it weren't for you" she smiled, and looked around, noticing Aqua was sitting down. He looked...bored. Not his calm focused self, but he looked like something was on his mind. "I'll be right back" she said quickly to Slicer, as she began making her way over to Aqua. "Hey, you alright? What's on your mind?" she sat down beside him.

"hello frostbite, and nothing really just trying to clear my mind and get focused for tonight, because there is a bad aura here being given off by something, and my guesses are its the forest after what we have just done, so i am just waiting i dont want to get to relaxed" he said knowing full well what would happen if we stayed here, but he hoped that we are able to fend off any predators tonight and not gain anymore injurys to the group.

Slicer nodded as Frostbite trotted off...Towards Aqua. *That's...Whatever.* He thought, Looking over at the now dead...Whatever the thing was called...The dead pony eating tree. "Bucking tree.' He muttered, Kicking one of the vines from the tree. He didn't really know why but he felt in a rather angry mood.

Démence sat on the ground, looking at his wounds. He was being beaten by trees. What would happen when they got deeper into the jungle? He started to sleep. He couldn't stay up worrying all night. He just had to hope he didn't get killed while sleeping.

 

 

He looked around. Everypony was gone. The jungle extended for what seemed for ever. But he was in a different area of the jungle. Everything was more wild. A snake was there. No. The snake. The snake he had read about. Runespoor. Three heads. All mouths wide open. They all bit him. One. Two. Three.

 

He snapped back awake. Everypony was there. No snakes. He knew tonight would be a long night.

Frostbite kept a brave face - "If you're sure about tonight...you know what, hopefully...hopefully the jungle will realise we're not messing around, and wont send anything else after us for a while eh?" she looked over towards Slicer again, who was walking off now "Oh shoot - be right back" Frostbite jumped up quickly, putting uneven pressure on her hind leg and almost breaking the support. She cringed in pain, but managed to shout after him "Slicer! Wait up!" As she made her way over, she saw Leaf sitting quietly near Démence, who was looking...better. "Leaf, come here for a second would you?" she shouted over to him. Returning her attention to Slicer - "Hey...what's going to happen tonight? Who's going to be on guard?"

Aqua simply sat there and listend. He heard Frostbite mention guard for tonight so he walked over to the group and said "I am in" and then asked slicer and leaf "Are you two?" looking at them both seing if there was any marks on them from the previous fight.

Slicer stood up and was about to walk to a small log next to a stream when he heard Frostbite say his name. He turned around to look at her, Aqua and Leaf. "My job is to protect everypony...So yes...I will be helping keep watch tonight." He said.

Leaf went over to where Frostbite and a couple of others are."If your going to ask me about taking watch; yep, I pretty much got enough endurance to be all right." he replied. "Also, are you sure you're going to take watch Frost? I'm not overprotecting you I'm just wondering..." he the asked.

Frostbite jumped a little when she noticed Aqua behind her. Smiling at Slicers rather...reassuring words, It'll be good to have him on guard she thought, just as long as the lack of sleep doesn't start affecting him. She nodded over towards Leaf and laughed, "Even if I was fit to stand guard tonight, a girl needs her beauty sleep doesn't she? And don't worry about it, i'm flattered by the concern, but just because i'm a lady doesn't mean I want babysitting, alright?" She spoke to the whole gathering with that last part. "Still though, it's nice to know you all care, and thank you, but don't go putting yourselves at risk."

"Thanks, but I should be fine. Just try not to let me die." He joked, trying to lighten the mood. It was impossible though. He looked up at the stars. They seemed to calm him down a little, but the dream echoed in his head. "Oh, and if you see any snakes, just run." This time, he was trying to be serious. He was scared by something he hadn't even seen.

 Slicer nodded. "I guess we'll go in shifts...Each of us will keep watch for three hours, If something goes wrong, Aqua, You said it...We need to work as a team." He said, Watching Aqua trot over to Démence. *Tonight is going...to be fun.* *Nooo...I think its going to be boring...I mean...I would rather be bored than eaten alive by a tree.* He thought.

"Snake?" Aqua asked curiously, seeing that there was no joke in his face when he said that. "what have you seen tell me everything?" Aqua said impatiently to the zebra, the only thing he knew about a snake was from the book that north gave him, the three headed snake was said to be able to grow its heads back. Aqua knew this would be a troublesome enemy if it were to attack at any point.

"And if you three need any help any time, you will come and get me wont you? I may be down but i'm not out." Frostbite said, looking up at the darkening sky - that's odd...it surely can't be past midday...can it? She lay down on the floor, she had to take some strain off of her legs. "I can't help but wonder when we'll be heading out...and when North will be setting camp."

"Just a dream. Nothing to worry about." He hoped it was nothing to worry about. "It's getting dark. I'm gonna try to get to sleep again. Night." He closed his eyes, and tried not to think about the snake. After tossing and turning, he eventually slept in the dark cold night.

Aqua left the zebra to go to sleep and rest, he then walked over to Leaf who was sat on guard and mentioned "By the way make sure you keep a keen eye out for snakes" He then walked away from leaf not saying another word, because he did not want to make him frightened of what is said to actually be out there in the jungle and could attack at any moment.

"Snakes... uhhhh... got it!" Leaf said, being aware of anything coming towards him. He then destined to spend the first quarter of the night watching for any danger. Leaf then decided to wonder about the zanbatō. "I wonder if anyone else tried to get the sword but failed..." he wondered.

Aqua walked towards slicer to tell him about the snake "hey, slicer i was just wondering have you read the book that you got given by north or did you even pick one up?" he said with a smile on his face, he thought of going to sleep but decided he would get some sleep when the first person on guard is over witch reminded him "And aso are you second on watch or shall i do it?"
