Slicer listened quietly, Then he said. "I just want to know why this jungle is putting up so much of a fight...If it wants to keep it protected enough to kill Anything that enters...There's gotta be something good in the center." He said, looking up at the sky.

After setting up her tent, Star Rain found her blankets in the tent just like how she had packed them. She made a bed and curled up in it with a spell book. It was filled with her father's notes on magic, along with spells that originally belonged to him that now became her very own. After about half an hour, she closed it and went to sleep, whispering,"I will survive..."

"See ya..." he thought as he saw Unholy leave him for Aqua and Slicer. "It seems like North and Unholy know a little bit about the sword. This sword has seen many battles...? Now I wanna find out who had this sword before me..." Leaf began to thought as he began doze off.

"Hmmm... that is indeed true. There has to be a reason why the princess sent us here, and I think its because of whatever is in the middle of this jungle." Unholy said, twitching her ear, she swore she heard something, but it sounded like it was really far off. she figured since non of the others heard the noise, they were fine.

"What do you think Aqua?" Unholy asked, lowering her head from the direction of the sky and facing it towards Aqua.

Frostbite found herself twitching and kicking in her sleep. Something was stopping her from getting comfy, and she woke up - frustrated. "What is your problem?!" She cursed herself, listing off the possibilities of why she couldn't sleep. "Are you too cold?" she joked herself "Too hot? Too anxious? Is it because you're hurt?" she then looked over at North and fell silent, mouth slightly agape. "...No...it's not." she answered herself, shaking her head and standing up, ready to walk outside. Here she saw Slicer, Aqua and Unholy talking, she watched them for a few moments and smiled at the civility of their conversation before she glanced over at Slicer. "Earlier...when he helped save me...that was odd." She spoke quietly to herself "He genuinely seemed to care, and he smiled...it was...a different smile" she hit herself in the head with her hoof. "NO!" she shouted.

"Yea...It must be-" He was cut off by Frostbite. He looked over at her, Slightly confused. "Um...Youu ok, Frostbite ?" He asked, Raising an eyebrow. *Something's up with her...I hope she's alright.* *You care to much.* *No, I care just the right amount.* He thought, Waiting for Frostbite to answer.

Frostbite felt herself go a little flush, mainly because she was caught out with what to say, but she was also a little embarrassed at whos attention she had caught - "I...um..." she said with the same soft voice she had been speaking to North with, when she realised this, she coughed and returned to her more confident 'normal' tone. "Trouble sleeping, that's all" as she weakly trotted over to the three, sitting down just away from the group. "How's the watch going?"

"Ummm i am not sure, i have many thoughts about what could be there, but now i am just simply going to try and get there then i will find out when i get there" he said facing the zebra with a smile forgetting that she could not see. Aqua was thinking for a second and then asked Unholy "where are you stopping tonight or do you fancy stoping up all night on guard ?". Not sure if she was tired but still asking anyway.

North stirred. It was pitch black outside, but there was a murmur of voices on the wind. He got up, and trotted out of the tent irritably. Sure enough, there everypony was, chatting away. "Well, if nopony's tired, then we may as well keep moving, hadn't we?" North asked, his voice carrying and overpowering each conversation.

North had a point, nobody is sleeping and instead most of them were just socializing. Leaf then got out of his sleeping bag and went over to North. "You're right, I can't really get to sleep. I've been wondering about my sword for so long that I wasn't worth it for me to sleep..."

"Its going good. And Descant...Aqua and I were just keeping watch...Everypony else just got up." He said, Stretching his wings and yawning. "But if you all want to keep moving then that's just fine." He said, Cracking his neck, standing up and smiling happily, Waiting for a reply from Descant.

Frostbite looked a little nervous, as her ears perked up and she turned to face North. "North I..." she bit her lip, not knowing what to say "couldn't sleep" she finished, reverting to that soft voice she was talking with earlier. She wasn't sure what to say, and she wasn't sure how North would take it, so she may as well tell him the truth. "Things playing on my mind, I needed some fresh air."

Démence rolled over and got a face full of moss. "Uggghhhh." He forced his eyes open to look around. Everypony seemed to be gathered. "What in Equestria? I thought everypony was going to sleep." He stumbled to the rest of the group. "Are we doing something?"

Aqua then looked around to see North had appeared out of his tent and said something, he did not hear completely due to him focusing on the conversation with Unholy. All he heard was that no one was asleep and something about moving on so Aqua stood up and said at the top of his voice so that all could hear "We need to decide what were doing, it must be late so ponies with injuries i suggest you get some sleep, and as we decided me and Slicer will do guard duty, if any other healthy ponies want to they can join". All he wanted was for the group to be healthy for the morning but if they wanted to move on now then so be it.

Looking around, North saw that he had been wrong. Not everypony was awake. But with how loud they'd been being.... "Well..." He looked up at the canopy, through which the moon was faintly filtering. "I reckon it's about midnight. Why don't you go ahead and swap the watch? Leaf, it'll be you and me." He looked around. "I'm not going to make any of the rest of you go to sleep, but I'd highly advise it. Tomorrow's going to be a long day."

 

He glanced at Frostbite, unable to hide a somewhat worried expression. He trotted over to her, and spoke under his breath, just loud enough for her to hear. "Listen... I'm not gonna make you sleep either, but... you need rest more than the rest of us." He looked slightly strained. "Do you think you could sit in the mouth of the tent, at the very least? Get some cold?"

She forced a smile, but was somewhat flattered by the concern of the stallion who had given off such a concrete personality beforehand. "I..." she saw the look on his face "You're right...it was just...strange. To see somepony else in the same sleeping area as me. Let alone in my temperatures." She said with a quiver in her voice, like she was trying to repress something as she limped slowly over to the tent.

North nodded stolidly. "Well, I'll be keeping watch for the rest of tonight, so you don't have to worry about that. And I'll sleep under the stars tomorrow if you'd prefer." As he walked her back over to the tent, to make sure she didn't fall, he wondered briefly why he was offering such kindnesses to a mare he barely knew. Because she was injured? Maybe. Well... Probably.

"Thank you" she smiled as they reached the tent and she sat down on the ice. "And I wouldn't ask you to sleep outside" she said in a strange way. Her soft voice, with such a stubborn tone "I wouldn't let you sleep outside." She yawned and stretched, then slumped across the floor of the tent doorway. She smiled up at North, then closed her eyes.

Slicer stood up and stretched. "I have insomnia so I probably wont sleep...and if I do it will be for a very short amount of time." He said, hearing a couple crack's. "Yea...It sucks but I deal with it." He said, grabbing his canteen and taking a few sips.

He glanced over to see North leading Forstbite to his tent, he glared slightly, then he sat down on a patch of moss.

With a faint smile, North turned away from the tent, immediately noticing the death glare Slicer was giving him. Well, maybe monsters aren't the only things I'm was going to need to keep an eye out for, North thought as he trotted back over to stand guard next to Leaf Orange.

Aqua expecting to be on guard all night, did not say anything to norths orders as he was standing up he said to unholy, "if you wish to carry on talking to me, i will be over near the tent just walk over and shout me and i will answer so you know where i am". He then walked over to the tent, had a look into the tent to see Frostbite laying there. Aqua pulled up a log and sat down.

Frostbite looked up at where the noise was coming from, and she saw Aqua moving a log over by the tent. 

"Oh, hey there" she smiled "thanks again for the supports, i'll probably still be using them tomorrow...I dont seem to be recovering too well" she whispered as she curled herself up and closed her eyes again.

Aqua replied to Frostbite "its no problem dont worry about it, if there is a way i can help then i will do it". He then looked at her and asked "did you say you were not recovering well, whats up?". Aqua put his satchel and bo staff on the floor so he could relax, but still keeping his staff close to him just incase.

She sat up a little, "well...d-don't tell anyone but" her voice dropped to a whisper "I had to leave the tent earlier, because...well...I got cold." She looked at the ice patches on her legs "They're numb right now...but...I don't know how well they're healing under there."

 

She lay back down again, and rolled onto her side "I can't seem to get comfy either...i'm not used to so many ponies being around, i'm feeling constantly agitated."

"Well i think you need some time alone, to be by yourself not only for peace of mind but to allow your body to heal as well, but its up to you of coarse?" he asked. Not knowing what was up with her, and not knowing what to actually say to help her, thats all he could suggest.
