"No, don't worry i was getting up any way" he replied in a sarcastic but jokey manor. "I was just wondering what it was thats all, i got my hopes up thinking that i would be fighting monsters already" Aqua said with an eager look on his face, but also wondering why everypony else is not up already waiting to go.

"Don't sound so disappointed" she said to Aqua, "I'm sure we'll be fighting soon enough." She levitated a brush out of her saddlebags, and began brushing her hair "I sure hope i'm wrong though" she mumbled to herself. She threw the brush back into her bag and turned to North "I'm guessing a fried breakfast is off the menu?" she joked as she glanced over to the jungle. For the first time this journey, in front of everypony else she showed visible concern for what lay ahead - she looked...worried.

Unholy jumped out of bed and grabbed her saddle bag then rushed after North.

"So, is this your first time in this jungle?" she asked questioningly as she readjusted her saddle bag.

This will be a knew experience, I just need to be careful of where I place my hooves... Unholy thought.

Aqua did not reply to Frostbite but she had put a smile on his face, he wondered over to near where north was, as he did he glanced past the the boat and realised there was a jungle there, he did not see it earlier due to being half blind and having his attention on a loud smashing noise.

Leaf Orange woke up with the sunshine on his face. He then realized where he is and what he is doing here and got out of bed, grabbed his bag out of his cubbie and headed out of the room and to the front of the ship. He then found that some of the others were already awake. "Hey, North; sorry if I awoken a bit late..." he said.

((A forest and a jungle are NOT the same thing, ponies. A forest is a lot more tame. Jungles are tall, bright coloured, and alive.))

 

North returned his gaze to Frostbite. "I'd say that's a fair assumption," North replied, missing the humour. He then turned to Unholy. Her question was on kind of a touchy subject, so he responded shortly. "I've been. And I almost died." He directed his next words partially at Démence, coupled with a bit of a glare. "The Jungle's no laughing matter. Once we're a few kilometres in, everything will be trying to kill us or turn us back." He spoke of it with an unusual fervor, as if he were obsessed.

He hopes that everypony will make it through, he intends to help with what he can to try and keep every one working as a team.

"I... I'm sorry I asked that... at least you made it out alive, I don't know how well this group would fair without you leading us." she said in a hushed tone, making sure she chose her words more carefully this time.

Frostbite cast a harrowing glare at Démence. "I don't plan on letting anypony die here today, but i'm sure accidents are bound to happen" she spoke with a very warning tone, her horn glowing brighter as she pointed it towards the zebra, when she realized what she was doing however, she immediately stopped herself, not wanting to be a pony down before they even entered the jungle. She knew that due to the nights rest and the sub climate temperatures she had spent it in, her magic would be rather powerful right now, and she didn't want to waste it. She had to save it, if anything. The jungle was severely going to put a hamper on that.

Star Rain's ears twitched when she heard the presence of another beside her. She instinctively moved away, not looking to see who it was. She then heard Demence ask if everypony was awake. It was very clear to her what his level morality was. Leave a pony for dead, and I'm going to impale you with my prism spike spell she thought. She felt tempted to give him the death stare, but resisted, knowing it would mean more trouble for her in the long run.

North nodded briefly at Unholy. So considerate. He appreciated that. "Don't be sorry. You didn't know. And if I weren't here, this group probably wouldn't be coming at all." He left it at that, and returned his attention to the zebra and unicorn. "Frostbite's right, Démence. The survival of the group depends on all of us working together and trusting each other. And with that mindset? I doubt anypony will want you at their back." He didn't even care that he was being so blunt. The zebra needed to take the situation seriously.

Frostbite simply smiled, acknowledging the rather unhappy looks Démence was getting from the other ponies around him. "I wouldn't give you the satisfaction" she said quite a ladylike manner "And besides, you wouldn't be worth one of my spells at this point." She curtly tossed her head to one side in the air, and then glanced over to Slicer. Well I know one pony he's going to have to keep his eye on... she thought.

North sighed. Figures that this zebra would be this way. Why would Celestia ever choose somepony like him? Resisting the urge to just slug the pony in that smirking face of his, North ignored him and started to lower the gangway onto a small, rocky peninsula that was the only visible land not obscured by foliage.

Slicer Laughed at Démence. "Wow...You just...Wow." He said, Chuckled and walking down the gangplank.

 

He moved out of the way so the rest of the ponies could get passed, He grabbed onto his knife and strapped it around his left front leg. Then he made sure his Hook blades and his whip were ready to go.

I wonder what will happen when we come face to face with a yami kitsune and he somehow gets trapped in one of its domes of darkness or something and we can't get in Star Rain sarcastically thought. She predicted that somehow, karma was going to catch up with Demence and something bad was going to happen to him. As annoying and heartless as he was though, she wasn't going hesitate and help him out if the need ever came. 

 

With little or more fear, Star Rain stepped onto the gangplank and joined Slicer at the peninsula. Well, this is it. This is the time I become a legend... or the time that I die. Still... "Nopony would miss me..." she muttered under her breath.

 

(OOC: Just throwing an idea out for a jungle animal. "Yami" is Japanese for "darkness", while a kitsune is a fox-like spirit that is a malevolent master of trickery.)

Aqua grabbed his staff and proceded down the plank to join the rest of the ponies, not saying a word just clearing his mind of everything so he could be at one with the forest and be totally focused on what is up coming. He checked his satchel one last time and stood to the side to let who ever else had to come off.

Unholy stood there in silence, she listen closely to the conversation.

She heard a noise coming form the jungle, and quickly turned her head in that direction.

"You need to tell everypony to keep on their toes and watch their step, I can hear things coming from that jungle... and it doesn't sound good..." she whispered to North.

Slicer smiled and patted Star on the back. "Star, I am going to do my best to make sure that nothing happens to you. And if something does happen to you, I will miss you." He said, Adjusting his bag and looking at North. "Ready when you are North Arrow." He said, Looking back into the jungle.

"Nice to see somepony's entertained. These ponies, on the other hand." Démence said, gesturing at the others. "Booorriing." He walked off the ship, still looking at the brilliant jungle ahead of him. 'A jungle, where nopony dare to tread. A group, but how many end up dead.' He laughed, remembering the rhyme that his father had told him about the jungle.

North nodded at Unholy briefly. "Okay." He elevated himself above the rest of the group as usual as the last of them disembarked the boat. Everypony was there, so he spoke. "Alright. We shouldn't really meet any resistance until we get until about five kilometres inside. At that point, the Amblezon will realise we're not just lingering in the Fringe, and will then actively try to reject us. By pushing us out or... by other means." He cleared his throat. "Now, nothing in the Fringe is deadly, so get all your admiration at its beauty out of the way, and sharpish. Because I need your heads on your shoulders, and not in the clouds, once we leave the Fringe." He landed, and began walking down the narrow, rocky peninsula to the mainland. "Come on, everypony. Time's wasting!"

Frostbite waited until she thought everyone else had crossed before she did so, she didn't want to freeze the bridge for anyone to follow and slip in her footsteps - again. 

 

Looking back at the boat one last time, she wondered if she'd ever see it again. Or see anything outside of this jungle again...

Upon this, she found herself standing quite close to Aqua "lets hope you can defend everypony as good as you say you can..." she whispered to him.
