What Owl Species is Owlicious? Or what would you guess his owl species is?

I have always wondered what species of Owl is Owlicious, does anybody know? Or what would you guess his owl species is? Examples...Barn Owl? Screech owl?

I just realized how little I know about owls. Well, actually I know a fair amount, I guess, but I can't name any species besides Barn Owl. But as I recall Barn Owls are really big, so that's probably not it.

 

In conclusion, I have no idea what I'm talking about.

Apparently, he's most likely a Tawny Owl.

I'm no expert, but I think he looks most like a Great Horned owl. Kinda like the owl from Winnie  the Pooh. Like I said I'm no expert though.

yes I thought it was a horned owl. but then again im no expert. Though I think barn owls are known for having heart shaped faces. which is why I think Horned makes more sense because of their more squareish faces

Jokes aside... either a horned owl or a barn owl. But it's a little kids cartoon.  I don't think we should concern ourselves which such.

Probably just an horned owl. I'm not an expert on Owl species either, but no matter what species Owlicious is. A owl just says 1 word ''Hoot''.

I've always assumed horned as well since he appears to have the horned feather. I definitely wouldn't say barn because of their distinct facial structure.

I think that Owlicious is a Great Horned Owl, he has all the features of one so I have no reason to believe that he is not one. But I'm no expert on Owls.

I believe he's a Tawny/Brown owl. I did a report on owls for school a few years ago, and I looked around a bit. I can see how some might think he's a Great Horned Owl, though

I'm not good with owl species, but I always assumed he was a great-horned. Although if mlp wikia says he's a tawny, then they're probably right
