Is the dark side of the fandom dying out?

We're all Bronies here. I find that this fandom is one of the most accepting. People respect my opinions and what I believe here.

 

I think that labeling them as 'cloppers' or the 'dark side of the fandom' is pushing it a little. It's just going to start an argument and a flame war. 

 

We're all Bronies and Pegasisters here. LOVE AND FREAKING TOLERATE. 

 

The last thing we should do is label other the other people in this fandom. I came here to be accepted, not to be the opposite.

Well, MLP FiM porn is just furry porn. I have friends who are furries. I don't really see how it's the dark side of the fandom, I see them more as the furries who enjoy the porn, especially due to the good graphics of the ponies.

 

I guess people kinda get labelled cloppers because the show IS intended for children, and the whole concept sounds weird to most people. But I don't think the pony furries are gonna be dying anytime soon

 

Actually that's not quite correct. MLP pron can be pony, anthro (traditional furry), and humanized (see Doxy's calendar). There's even the realistic pony which gets a bit weird or mixing the different kinds such as human x pony. Then r63 and futa throw in some other variation.   I even saw some centaur versions of applejack and pinkie the other day. 

 

Anyway you look at it people are just limited by their imaginations and some people have wild imagination. The good thing is we have so many great artists that can draw this stuff WELL.

 

Only a hanful of artists from japan have begun jumping on board for once, we have beaten them to it! USA!! USA!!

I think it's more a matter of the really annoying ones of the bunch that think it's something they need to have pride parades over have finally conceded that just because we don't care if they like something, doesn't mean we want them shoving it down our throats and posting it in places where it doesn't belong.

1) Never really noticed any clopper shoving r34 stuff down people's throats. Will you people stop mentioning that? THAT DOES NOT HAPPEN

2) It's not about pride parades, but it would be nice to get to this point when it's like:

" person#1: I'm hetero and you?

  p#2: I'm gay

  p#1: And you?

  p#3: I'm clopper

  p#1 : And you?

  p#4: I like trains

  p#1: Oh cool! So what do you guys doing today?"

3) It's more natural then you might have assumed

4) If you are confused just think of it as attraction to humans... Most things apply the same way! It's not that different! Jeeez people stop thinking of as as aliens....

5) The dark side in this fandom are closet haters! People who claim that they're converted but they're not.

6) Yet another annoying thing is that wherever I go people tend to over-analyse Cloppers .. like why is that? That might have been caused by that... Lol I feel like test subject -_- Seriously how would you fell I would analyse your heterosexuality day and night?

I try to be ok with that, and I admit guilty as charged, I also like to analyse it too the most of the time, but it has boundaries you know....

7) Another thing that works both way and deal with that! I only hear one side mentioned. I don't want to see your human porn as well you don't want to see my pony porn.

Yet people porn is in lot more places and can be seen without wanting much more easily :/ What do you have to say about THAT!?

8) It didn't die out, just the witch-hunting is lot less active this days

9) The golden rule! You don't have to understand something to tolerate it! If it would be otherwise we would be fighting with each other day and night ... ( sounds familiar... *looks out the window*... ohh yeah right....| HUMANS | )

Holy hell, you really don't know anything about international cultures, do you.

 

No. The vast majority of Japanese people are actually extremely modest in regards to sex, more so than other countries. Especially the U.S. It's ingrained into their culture, as is many things in Japanese culture, from a long period of adherence to Shinto values.

 

Judging the entirety of Japan based on a sexually-explicit (and, in Japan, frowned upon by the vast majority) subculture is like, well, claiming all bronies are cloppers simply because you only saw what they post on 4chan.

Oh that side is far from dead, in fact, it's still growing, it just doesn't stop, due to the fact that someone I know just can't stop talking about it and keeps naming numerous artists and upcoming artists I can tell you that it's not dying down.

 

However, there is a different side to the story and that is what we call the loud-minority and media-popularity. Because MLP once caught so much attention by the media of course cloppers would become a target too, since the media is nothing but out to ridicule things they chose cloppers as their main target of an overall "questionable" subject, namely MLP. Of course, people of the internet, mainly "casuals" caught wind of this too and so it became a huge hype to target cloppers. However, this hype is dying down and people simply stop caring and are trying to find a new target to vent on. However, this does not mean that the whole R34, which has always been a target, fandom simply dies with it, in fact, people will always come across it and some will find that they enjoy something like this. So in short, the media-popularity has decreased and the loud-minority has settled down. Nothing more.

 

To give my own opinion on R34 and cloppers, I simply don't care, I mean, you never judge someone's porn, because you wouldn't want them to find out your fetish and ridicule you for it, now would you? Clop/fap to whatever you want to, and f*ck everyone else's opinion.

It's becoming less prominent as I guess some people just learned not to care.  Though, there really is no dark side, it's just a different way of enjoying the show.  Every fandom has sexual parody's and gore fests.

I've been there before US pressured them into banning porn and they didn't have a children or adult section in bookstores, little kids were reading porn comics on the bookstores.The whole game rating system was a facade too back then, games would have the recommended age but nobody cared to enforce it and kids could buy adult oriented games out of a japaense game store.

 

Anime/manga like pokemon, doraemon, crayon shin chan are very popular and the content is more towards kids despite having an adult fanbase but in Japan they don't frown upon sexual humor even when it involves little kids or the content itself is mostly targeted towards kids.

 

You might say that the manga readers are a minority in japan but nevertheless the majority doesn't feel the need to resrict people from doing certain stuff by lobbying the government to ban them and they're willing to protest the the government when the US forced them to crackdown on porn and child depictions despite it only affecting the enjoyment of a small minority.

 

Americans cry out for bans on guns/video games and censorship in the name of protecting the children all the time which is the major difference, you can't even make racist content or porn content in video games in america since both government and business work together to restrict free speech.There is a definite mob mentality that desires to oppress the minority whether that minority be blacks or people with different ideas but you probably already knew that since you have made it clear that you want to impose your socialistic anti gun view onto the masses whether they like it or not.

Having more adult themes for their shows doesn't mean they encourage pornagraphy.

Really I don't think that's the source of the negativity. I think its that lots of bronies preech the show like a religion and try to force it on others, generating a lot of negative emotions between bronies and non bronies. Also the constant calling everybody who isn't a brony a hater probably doesn't make people any happier than calling an African-American a... you know.

As the person above states, your statement feels more as if you're trying to find a scapegoat for the negativity surrounding this fandom. Here's a thing. One of the most prominent artist in this fandom is JJ. The thing is he has ton of anthropomorphized ponies in this DA gallery and his Molestia tumblr page is probably one of the most visited webpage by the bronies.

 

Furry fandom is something you will never be able to separate from this fandom. R34 implies that if it exists, then there's a pornography stuff related for it, countless times this internet rule have proven to be true.

 

Just accept the negativity that comes with you enjoying this show. Same kind of thing comes with playing video games as an adult, and same kind of thing comes with watching anime as well. As long as you enjoy anything that isn't 'mainstream', then there's always going to be someone who has a problem with your habit.

Well, this is going to make me unpopular but I'm going to say it anyway:

People like you, dear Markz0ne, are contributing the rapid downfall of this fandom. Reasons? You're discriminating against a large section of the fanbase and giving it a negative label. Enough people doing this to any part of the fanbase will cause the part of the fanbase being bullied to leave the fandom. You may think this is all fine and dandy but you're not thinking about how you are effecting them. These are ordinary, every day people who share a common interest with you and most of them will be good people. I have been under the firing from intolerant assholes like yourself as I like and draw both Grimdark and R34. I have seen in my 2 years of being part of this fandom that it is turning more and more volatile because of people like yourself poisoning it. Please stop. Stop hating, it's hurting people. Lastly, people are always going to hate this fandom regardless and "keep it to a minimum" really? Most bronies I know can't talk to any other bronies outside of the small group of brony friends they've made because they're scared of how they may react if they find out that they like R34 and no wonder. I myself have never felt so unwelcome within a group because of a couple of things I like that are unorthodox.

It's practically impossible for the "dark side" of the fandom to die out. As Rule 34 of the internet states:

 

"Pornography or sexually related material exists for any conceivable subject."

There's always going to be people who feel sexually attracted to characters in the show, and therefore there will also be people who are willing to cater to these... particular needs.

 

I don't see the problem with it personaly. I'll happily admit that I am part of "the dark side" of this fandom.

 

And who says it's the "dark side"? This particular sub-section of the fandom is just as creative, if not more, than the rest of the fandom. What's not to like?
