gaming Villain Appreciation Thread

Recommended Posts

This is for the love and appreciation of villains from movies, video games, television, and esp, cartoons.

I would like to start off with two of my favorite gaming villains of all time:

FFVI-KefkaCG.jpg

Vaas_3.jpg

What makes Kefka such a fantastic villain is that he doesn't pull any punches. He's literally just a psychopath who wants to see the world burn. He actually did what other villains only dream to do; destroy the planet, and he laughed while doing it.

Vaas is a different kind of psycho. He accepts his lunacy and he is so charasmatic, so cheerful in his madness that you cannot help but to like him as much as you fear him. He's very dangerous though as you can never determine what he will do next.

Darth Vader.

Should be self explanatory. Subtle, silent (except for the breathing), patient (in a sense). The armor defines him.

Problem? He walks to it, running is too excessive, doesn't look like you have control. Dark Lord of the Sith for a reason.

Also Father from Kids Next Door (My Avatar, reverse the colors), love the way he talks and his grim and morbid sense of humor pickled with awkward quirks at certain points.

Handsome Jack definitely deserves a spot on this thread.

Throughout the entire game he taunts you as you make your way through the game.

But the way he does it is more funny than provoking/intimidating the first half of the game (which is why I love him).

I don't want to say more in case I might spoil anything for people who haven't played borderlands 2 yet,

but this guy is one of the best villains I've ever had to deal with in a video game<3

My favourite video game villain would have to be Dr Nefarious from the  Ratchet and Clank series

He is so funny and awesome. He will always be my fave

All_4_One_-_Nefarious.pngAs for TV show villian, that would be Lord Zedd from Power Rangers, I mean, he was a pretty hard core villain for a children's show

Sephiroth is too mainstream for me,  So I like Kuja from FFIX, no big sword compensating whatever seph is lacking, just floaty, magic sexyness

I recently really liked Amon from Legend of Korra up until the last few episodes (which were dumb and basically destroyed everything I liked about his character).

(His character design is just to die for though)

In terms of villains I've liked for a while though, Magneto of X-Men and Captain Barbossa of Pirates of the Caribbean are two of my faves.

I have always been a big fan of the Shredder aka Oroku Saki from Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, he has had many different versions but the best one was Tengu/demon Shredder from the 2003 series. To make a long story short he was the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles version of Satan, he was so powerful that it took the combined efforts of the Turtles, Master Splinter all the allies and enemies of the turtles and the spirit of Hamato Yoshi to take him down. His theme was badass, his voice was badass everything about him was badass.

Another one of my favorites is Darth Bane who instituted the Rule of Two which made the Sith order as we know it today. In an effort to solve the centuries of Sith infighting and save the order Darth Bane wiped out the Brotherhood of The Sith and rebuilt the Sith Order on the Rule of Two which would be one master to have the power and one apprentice to crave it. The intent was that the apprentice would surpass their master and take their place as the new master meaning that each new generation would be more powerful than the last.

Kuja was a fantastic villain. Just enough sadism to make you hate him, enough sympathetic elements so you feel and understand him, and a look that is very wicked indeed.

Though I must say that while he was pretty awesome, he is no match for the Joker of the FF universe.

I still think that Lord English from Homestuck has one of the best villain designs in recent memory.

As if it wasn't enough for him to kill people who are already dead with a reality-warping mouth cannon in this form, we also get to see him as a sociopathic thirteen-year-old alien and face powerful adversaries such as wireless trackball mice.

(Spoilers in white text) Snape kills Dumbledore!

That's really all there is to say on the matter.
