Doc Ginger 86 February 25, 2013 Share February 25, 2013 (edited) Hello one and all, I need help creating a name for my OC (Profile pic) and maybe some ideas for fleshing him out, my lil sister doodled the idea for him recently based off myself. He is a medic within the Royal Equestrian Army, or Royal Guards (Ive only read a handful of Fics pertaining to those items so I have no idea how well received they are to the popular culture). He is rather good at doing what he does but is also something close to socially inept and enjoys taking care of other pony's whether it be lending a helping hand or healing those who are hurt. Naught Important 434 February 25, 2013 Share February 25, 2013 Like I said in a different post, try getting out a thesaurus and find synonyms of words that can apply to your OC. I, personally, like the more complicated names that sound like names and not words. For instance, one of my OC's names is "Myriad Alloy" which pretty much means "Many Metals." If you want a name for a medical specialist pony, then I would recommend searching for the synonyms of words like "Heal" "Medical" "Medicine" etc. Two good words you could use would be "Cicatrize" meaning "to heal a wound" or "Succour" meaning "to help in a time of need" The extent of my interest is in things that don't exist. I was looking for related words like that but the ones I was looking at were all simpler and smaller, I never thought that the more articulate words would work better for some reason >..< Thank you; this should keep me playing around for a bit! Doc Ginger 86 February 25, 2013 Author Share February 25, 2013 (edited) After using a dictionary and thesaurus like Cobalt recommended I finally found a name for my OC I like and think tells who he is. Lance Minder from the medical word lance which means to make a cut and Minder which was an archaic term for helper or caretaker.
