Think about it. When Twilight has to rule over Equestria, she would have to magically put on her newly-acquired wings as a formality, the same reason she'd have to wear a crown. However, on her time-off studying and hanging out with her friends, she can use her magic to temporarily ditch the wings until the time comes for her to go back to her throne. The ability to magically shape-shift between unicorn and alicorn will also help keep Twilight who she is without forgoing that pivotal change, and find a middle-ground between Anti-Twilicorns like myself, and the majority of Pro-Twilicorns.

Do you find this happening some time in S4 and/or beyond? I know I do, and I don't want to believe that it's unlikely.

That wouldn't make any sense even if she was to get rid of her wings she would still be a princess. Also just because shes an alicorn princess doesnt mean she cant hang out with her friends. To sum up that aint gona happen. Why is everyone so bent out of shape about twilight becoming an alicorn? Change can be a good thing if you give it a chance rather then just hating it from the get go for no real reason.

I think people need to realise Twicorn is not going anywhere, its a good idea but the chances of it happening in 0; its a good idea ut it does not really make sense!

I know, and like, she can, like, transform, like, sailor moon, right? You following me brah? And she then does all these spins and the music is like lalabababa twilight SPARKLE and then she transforms into a princess and there are all these explosions and the music is then like LALALALLADADADABABABADADA.

You following me?

This idea makes no sense. It's more likely for Tom to become an Alicorn than it is for Twilight to magically shift shape between species.

Alicorn Twilight will not change. Why is it that people are still upset over the issue. For the last time, MOVE ON!! It will never return. You must accept the new changes.

Really, every time I'm in the minority, like what's going on here right now, it's as if I'm not allowed to have my own opinions at all!

For once, I'd like people to agree with me, just because there are hundreds of other Anti-Twilicorns out there. But every time I come up with an opinion like this, I'm always in the minority when I shouldn't be.

I mean, fanboy outrage was why we managed to get good Sonic the Hedgehog games, after a slew of awful ones. It was also why Mass Effect 3's ending was corrected, why Hal Jordan returned as the one true Green Lantern, and why Optimus Prime was resurrected. I want to be surrounded by people who agree with me, not a bunch of enemies I might start a flame war with! It's like I'm the villain here, when I shouldn't be!

I think this is the issue here.

I agree with you on the issue of Twilicorn, but the stance that we *shouldn't* be in the minority implies that there is an inherent right and wrong stance on this.  We should or shouldn't be in the minority as much as *any* opinion on the matter.  I acknowledge that pro-Twilicorn opinions are valid, and I hope that others view mine the same.  I'm frustrated when they don't even *consider* the possibility of things going bad, but at least I'm not leaving out the possibility that this *could* go well.

Plus your whole suggestion here, while a nice idea in spirit, is something that doesn't seem to have a lot of in-show justification.  It would only be there for pleasing the fanbase.

That's not really what many fans are angry about. It's the theory that Twilight might (Princess Celestia a 1000 years old at least) live for a very long time or perhaps be immortal as an Alicorn, and watch all her friends die of old age.

Good theory none the less. (parallel universe/multiverse/fan fiction) It would mean Twilight turn back into a mortal unicorn and die along side her friends.

That or she can make her friends immortal too. (universe/multiverse/fan fiction)

This is what will happen if Twilight Sparkle is indeed immortal and can't make her friends and family immortal too.

Well my view of it is what difference would beridding of her wings really be? I agree with Squirrel in the fact she's still a princess, wings aren't going to make a difference. She still has additional responsibility, and I'm sure if push came to shove Celestia will protect her ability to be with friends.

You know, that last one almost reminds me of the ending to Princess Promenade. That ended with Princess Wysteria declaring all of her friends princesses as well. If anything, Twilight might as well do what Wysteria did, and turn all of her friends into alicorn princesses. Sure, it would mean Applejack having to leave her family, and Fluttershy leaving her animals. But who cares? What about Twilight? Why does she have to deal with the drudgery of ruling an entire kingdom, while her friends are left to rot in the common world?

I can dream that it will go away but it won't happen. I am just really scared that they've wrecked the original concept of 'Friendship is Magic' by making one character more superior to the others and therefore the higher power. They were pretty much all equal before hand. But, it also feels quite unleveled, like before there was 2 earth ponies, 2 pegasi and 2 unicorns. Now, there's 3 winged ponies, 2 unicorns and 2 earth ponies. So it has pretty much created an inbalance among the mane six.

Regardless of your views on Alicorn Twilight this doesn't serve any rational purpose, If I randomly spouted wings what good would it be for me to remove them? I could simply just not have them stretched out of course, but there would be no purpose to remove them and put them back on randomly.

It wouldn't really change the fact shes a princess either, and it just doesn't seem rational for her to want to power herself down. If it was like shape shifting between Pegasi and Unicorn then atleast it would make sense, but an Alicorn has everything a Pegasi and Unicorn have combined, so theres no advantage really to being a Unicorn over an Alicorn.

I personally don't care to much about Twilicorn right now though, it happened theres nothing I can do about it and it hasn't done anything to ruin Twilight or the show for me yet, so I guess I'm kinda neutral on it. Still I'm remaining optimistic and hoping everything goes fine.

I guess, since we saw Alicorn Twilight for like 3 seconds, and barely know anything about her, I guess the writers could work this in. However, I don't really like the idea. I'm sure there is a spell for shape-shfting, but why would Twilight want to hide her true self? She's an Alicorn now. It doesn't really seem like she's that interested in flying, anyway.

It's an idea, but I just don't see it working that well or being used in the show. One why would she do that anyway? I mean her sates as a princess would not change and it's not like away to hid herself from everyone. They would still know her as Princess Twilight.

If it's because of her friends would see her different lee, that would be even worse. They should be happy for her and she should not change just for them. They would still see her as their friend.
