who likes fan fiction? if so what do you make?

Well... crud.  All though I prefer reading HiE stories since I find them fun, I can read the other stuff without hating it.  But I've always preferred comedy stuff intertwined with romance or some other genre (my own is comedy/adventure/human).  I'm almost interested in that "My Little Devil".  What's that about?

If i ever get the time i have several stories in mind but its hard for me to sit and write things. I love writing short stories. About 5 pages or about 5000 words roughly. Im ok with grammer as long as i have a good checker. I use word 07 which is good enough for me but id like to get another set of eyes on the one fic i have. Cant seem to get any feedback on it so i dont know if its good, bad, or just plain trash

I read P.A.T.A. and Brass Pony: Cloppers.  Good stories that have a comedic effect which I enjoyed. 

 

I felt the first story was slightly lacking in content though.  They were very short chapters, and for a story like what you wrote, this could've been really fleshed out with some fun, wacky moments.  The songs were a nice touch, but no dancing going on during the scenes?  You talk about them writing fan fics, but none of them recited any weird poems or haikus about Twilight?  And why didn't the rest of her gang try and talk to her?  That could have lent to some good stuff as well. 

 

You did leave the story off at a good place, and I even feel you could expand on this and write more.  Your grammar is also top-notch.  It's better than most of the people that are on that site, which is fantastic to see.  It would've been nice if you indented your work, but at least you spaced your paragraphs properly.  You have my thumbs up and a fav to this story.  It's good, just wish there was more in it.

 

As for the BP:C story, what more could I say?  It's a silly story about people clopping and the effects on our civilization but in a funny, ridiculous kind of way.  Perfect use of a one-shot idea.

Try posting something here in a thread.  You might get some people that can help out with it on feedback.  It may happen, it may not happen.  But nothing is gained if you think and never act.

This is a short story. Only 3 chapters and its an indirect cross fiction of the call of duty zombie games so it takes someone who knows the game. Originally it was intended as a Halloween story based off spikes comment on zombie ponies in the show. It is not grimdark. Ive avoided any references to death and even use non violent means of dealing with those who are zombiefied. Its really cute imho.

 

I had submitted it to a guy on ponychan but he ripped it apart without any real feed back. Ive fixed a few things since then but i still need someone who knows grammar to check it out

I did actually have an idea for an extra chapter of PATA in between chapters 3 and 4 that dealt with the rest of the mane 6. It was going to center around them trying to convince themselves that Twilight's ascension was a good thing but being unable to. I was going to parody the cutuie mark song from the finale with, "I must accept her destiny! 'Cause it's what Saberspark is telling me!" In the end, I considered that it would become too much of a 'hate-fic' to include it, (and mentioning other bronies felt like a low blow) so I skipped straight to Twilight's visit to Canterlot. And no, I have no plans to add any more to the fic.

 

Pinkie the Match-Maker originally had a comedy tag but I removed it because the comedic aspect just isn't as prevalent as in my other fics. There are still some jokes and funny scenarios, but they take a backseat to the romance side of things. So, I guess you might get some kind of enjoyment out of it? *shrugs*

 

Oh, and I hate indented paragraphs. I just think it makes the text uglier to look at.

XD I'm currently writing a fanfic, tho I put it on hiatus while Season three was showing and now I have to get back to it. I guess it's kind of unusual, seeing as it's set in Trottingham, but it sorta works.

Sometimes it helps if you write in sections. Like starting at a critcal sceen and work backwords. Dont start at the beginning. I find writing is like connect the dots. Write out two places then draw them togeather. For me at least this works.

Heh, I have the whole plotline sorted, its as you say. Connecting the dots. 

 

I'm not inclined to name out most of the story (except the synopsis) for obvious reasons. Though reading through the prologue (which is on my FIMFICTION account) you can have pretty good guess to who the villain(s) is/are.

I do have one problem in respects to fanfiction as far as a writers prospective and that's that i love reading other peoples work BUT the problem is that I'm afraid that if I read them it may influence my own writings and i dont want to inadvertently put a part of someone work into my own. Or say something the way someone else has because their words are in my head.. which as much as i want to read them i cant bring self to do so
