okay guys so i've been wondering how to make a voice "sing" with a song? It's hard for me to explain so here's what I'm talking about:

Okay so you know how they get her to sing with the music sort of? and most of those clips are of her just speaking normally. So how does one get that effect? do you just sort of change the pitch of the voice to match with the note you want it to hit? because i feel like it's more complicated than that. Any help is appreciated :)

What happens is, the composer runs the voice clip through a special program, that autotunes each phrase or sentence closest to the relative pitch.

For example, here's a popular auto-tuned fan song

The composer, ran the clip into a program multiple times, auto-tuning the clip to a different note each time.

For this one, the song is in G# minor.

You're closer than you'd think, actually.

It's manual pitch correction, handled using a MIDI track linked to the pitch correction software, or edited in the software itself (i.e., Newtone). Usually, with pitch correction, what Thunder-Dash said about it autotuning "each phrase or sentence closest to the relative pitch" is true, but in the case of "Fluttershy's Lament", the pitching is handled manually.

So within Newtone you can edit the pitch of each phrase or sentence like in "Fluttershy's Lament"? Because I use ableton and i have been using Auto Tune Evo for some of the tracks i needed to correct the pitch and such, but i dont think you can manually correct the pitch within the program itself (I could be wrong, maybe i just haven't messed around with it long enough).

From what I'm seeing in this video, you should be able to assign notes to the spoken word audio in Auto Tune Evo's manual mode. Play around with it a bit more, watch tutorials on it, etc etc.
