visual art 2011 Holden HSV GTS

Chevette

Recommended Posts

A drawing of a 2011 Holden HSV GTS, many of the Australians may recognize this automobile. I am personally quite the fan of Holden's automobiles, very well designed and well powered with some of GM's finest motors.

I'm usually all about American vehicles, but Holden makes a very nice vehicle. You don't usually come across too many 6.2 Liter engines in sedans, this Holden has the looks, the power of a sports car, and the luxury of a sedan all in one.

This drawing was quite entertaining for myself to take part in. Considering I only really draw in school, it ended up taking about four days to complete. I'd usually whip it out whenever I had a chance to work on it some more. I even thought to add the Holden badge and the HSV (Holden Special Vehicles) badge along with the highly detailed drawing of the vehicle itself.

Damn, that detail is impressive, photorealistic even. That looks straight out of a brochure :o TBH I've never heard of this brand before but from what you've described, it sounds like a real sweet car :)

Signature to come soon. I think. Yeah. Once I think up a nice one. Or when someone makes one for me. Damn it. I need more time to draw and animate poni. >_<

Holden makes some surprisingly good cars for such a small brand. Truth-be-told, they were to only thing they kept Pontiac going in the final years, as many of America's Pontiac models were just re-badged Holdens (the G8 was a Commodore and the GTO was a Manaro).

It'd be a real treat if Holden could get their cars over into our market, as they've got some unique rides like the Maloo that would be pretty nice to see rolling around in the good ol' USA.

The drawing is sweet too, but that front driver's side tire looks a little wonky.

Yes, Holden really does make some unique vehicles. The Maloo reminds me of a modern-day ElCamino, which would be awesome to see here in America.

After Pontiac popped out something as ugly as the Aztek, they needed assistance from someone who could get their cars to sell again.

I have a 06' GTO and I really like the way it's designed. I didn't know too much about Holden before I got my GTO but now I'm even more proud to own one.

And about the drawing, thanks for the compliment! I'm really not too great with wheels, usually people always point out the jacked up wheels. There is just something about circles... I can't figure it out myself.

Your incredible, this is so well done.. There is no way criticizing it, the only thing i could criticize though would be the front tires.. I don't feel right criticizing it though.. It's just so amazing. Great work. ;)

Thank you! I'm not the best with the wheels/tires, it's something about circles that never seem to just come out right. Usually if it ain't the front, it's the back one I screw up.

Thanks again!

Yeah, towards the end the only thing that kept Pontiac alive were their rebadged Holdens. What a shame to see a company with such history fall.

As for the wheel, I believe it may be because of the angle it's at. You have the tire facing in, but tread looks as if it should be facing out.
