I say, it doesn’t even matter

What’s done is done

And the past I cannot change

 

Yes, this is my story

Of unattended regret

And no hope for the future

 

Yes that was my life

That was my time

But in the moment that I failed

When I gave up and allowed myself to die

Please know,

That I was thinking of you

 

I said it doesn’t really matter

What’s left, is remnants of memories

I just wish my body would break like my heart

But it doesn’t even matter…

 

It’s my life

Or was it yours?

But now that you’re gone,

I guess that I’ll never know

 

Please forgive me,

And my desires,

Of self persecution,

Of my judgment

And my own punishment

 

I know I said that it didn’t even matter

I know I still have life worth living for

And I can guess at what you’d say

That “The only thing that doesn’t matter , is that I failed.”

 

This is my story

This is my life

A world filled with hopes and dreams

And everything worth believing in again
