Imo, creating a new welcoming topic to just make a short little tidbit mentioning that your back is better suited for a status update, or blog, not a new WP topic ^^ Make no mistake, I remember you and it's great to have you back, but I don't think this topic is the best way to make an 'I'm back' topic of this briefness.
